The thing about relief pitchers is that they are so volatile from year to year. I really do not want to see the Cubs invest a lot of resources into another relief pitcher. Cripes, every year you can pick up guys from the scrap heap, bring up prospects from your own system, and even look to international free agents for help. It's a cheaper way of dealing with any perceived bullpen problems. Frankly, I think the Cubs have a handful of guys who could become good relievers next year in their system. This kind of a move is unnecessary.
