    Yeah, that .913 OPS last season really needs to go. You say things like that and expect to be taken seriously? It's one game in. The problems we saw today were the same types of problems we had last season. Nothing is "going downhill". We're pretty much the same team as last season, so if you're going to complain just complain about this team not being great. Sarcasm.

    My thoughts on the game: NO SMOKING is not that hard to understand. Standing up for 12 hours with no water, no food, and only 1 bathroom break plays hell with your body. ...Guess i was looking at it from a different side.

    Roast is all geared up...minus shoes and his hat. I'm heading out in about half an hour or there abouts. Gonna get there crazy early, probably grab some coffee at 7/11, and watch some of the ceremony before I go and clock in, most likely. Taken yesterday when I was checking if everything fit.     Favorite Opening Day memory? That probably has to be the Home oppener last year. Granted, we lost, but I was in attendance and it was crazy fun. As for me, I didn't sleep for crap last night. I'm just waiting for my shower to open up so i can get going....speak of the devil...sounds like he's getting out now. Sweet.     GOOD MORNING, CUBS FANS! Didn't sleep worth a damn last night, but it's GAMEDAY! Just went downstairs and had breakfast and as soon as my stupid suite-mate gets out of the shower I'll be hopping in there and getting all clean and dressed up in my spiffy Crowd Management uniform... GO CUBS.

    Do you get one of those cool lookin new jackets to fight off the weather? I, too, am beyond excited for tomorrow. It dont get much better than the Cubs in pinstripes on Opening Day at Wrigley Field. Well, i don't "get" it. I have to pay, but i get an absolutely massive discount. Because if we wear a coat it has to be THAT coat - to keep uniform and everything.

    weather.gov says: Monday: Occasional showers and thunderstorms before 1pm, then periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. High near 60. North northeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Eww. I'm really pumped that in less than 12 hours I'll be at wrigley but...eww.

    Patterson and Hopper are platooning in CF and will be leading off. We'll see about Hatteberg. The Reds have their 25 man roster set in stone and Votto is on it. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hatteberg start the first three games because we are facing Webb, Haren, and a lefty and then see Votto start this weekend. Votto wouldn't be on the roster if he's not going to see a lot of playing time. He has also always been a slow starter (hit under .200 in spring this year and April last year), so I wouldn't be surprised to see them spilt playing time until Votto shakes out of his early funk. I have virtually zero problem with Patterson starting in CF until Bruce is healthy. The problem is he has to business hitting leadoff. He should be batting 7th and Votto/Hatteberg should bat leadoff. Patterson, Mercker, and Bako (granted it's only because Ross is on the DL) all made the team. At least Mercker spelled the end of Stanton. Cueto will be the Reds #3 starter and Volquez the #5. right... LOL it's so cute when they're naive. Trust us - him being on the roster in NO WAY means that he'll see considerable playing time. Dusty is notorious for planting young players on the bench and never letting them play.
