  1. Haven't watched it yet but it looks like the Bears put together a behind the scenes video of the draft and rookie camp.
  2. Is everyone pumped for the Darvish/Davies matchup on Tuesday?
  3. How are the Giants good? I thought they were just a fluke team that got off to a hot start.
  4. Seriously how is he still on the roster much less pitching in fairly high leverage situations?
  5. We can joke about it now but the Cubs have been at the forefront of this spin rate revolution haven't they? Has it mostly been the Cubs finding guys that have always had high spin rates and maximizing it, or have they had pitchers that randomly have spikes in spin rate overnight?
  6. The Cardinals are down 11-1 in the first inning. Carlos Martinez gave up 6 runs before recording an out (a foul bunt attempt by the pitcher) gave up a 7th before being pulled with the bases loaded and 2 outs. Reliever comes in and immediately gives up a grand slam to Bellinger Martinez final line - 0.2 IP, 6 H, 10 ER, 4 BB
  7. Sweeping the Padres is sweet. Definitely gives us more margin for error to start this difficult stretch of 11 road games in our next 14.
  8. Maybe Winkler is just one of those guys that always has to get in trouble but somehow always buckles down and gets through his inning.
  9. 2016: horsefeathers the closer 2021: Dillon Maples territory
  10. That baseball had a family Javy
  11. Well now I'm less thrilled about our luck this inning.
  12. What in the heck is going on this inning? lol I'll take it. And hope the Pads players are ok
  13. This is baseball at its finest. Red hot team, electric crowd, dominant closer shutting down the heart of one of the best teams in baseball. Great stuff
  14. I really hope Tatis doesn’t turn into one of those guys who you wonder what could have been if it wasn’t for injuries. Seems to be a frequent thing for him this year unfortunately.
  15. The Cubs have hit some mammoth dongs of late geez
  16. In 15 AB, Wisdom has accumulated 0.5 fWAR good for 6th amongst Cubs position players. Crazy, hope he keeps it up
  17. I know the Cubs have been notorious for doing this in the past but what is the benefit of not putting Rizzo on the IL? Surely with all the position player injuries we could have used a bat off the bench the last 8 days. Back injuries are likely a day to day thing and they were gambling that he’d feel better quick enough to not put him on the IL, but it sure seems like the Cubs make that gamble a lot and lose.
  18. Not often you see a pitcher have a 28 pitch inning and only allows 2 base runners and no runs scored.
  19. Was really hoping we’d magically have Cubs era Jake but we got Phillies/Orioles Jake instead
  20. It’s picturesque but yeah not exactly a ideal location for a 60,000 seat football stadium. I’d prefer the Bears find something in the city and I could live with Soldier Fields location as my concern is more the stadium than the location. I want a stadium that can host Super Bowls, Final Fours, Big Ten Championship games, etc. if that has to be built in Arlington heights or something so be it. Cowboys Stadium is not in Dallas, whatever they call the Cardinals stadium is far away from central Phoenix, MetLife field is not centrally located, nor is the new LA stadium.
  21. I’m still dubious that they have other camera angles that we can’t see. If they had other angles why wouldn’t they show them on the broadcast? Or do the umpires have body cams or something that are not broadcast worthy? Just seems like something they made up to get away with overturning calls with inconclusive evidence. The conclusive evidence stuff annoys me. Just saying you are using the replay to make a judgement call even if the replay isn’t conclusive. Like yes from the replays I saw I would say it’s overwhelmingly likely he was safe. Ok so then just say that.
  22. I get that half the team is in the IL but is having a shortened bench worth the chance that Rizzo might be available 1-2 days before his IL stint is up? Rizzo isn’t on the IL, is he? No he’s not. That’s what I’m saying. This is what day 7 without Rizzo? Is it worth having a short bench for a week so that Rizzo may possibly PH 1-2 days before a IL stint would be over
  23. Jesus this inning is unbelievably annoying
  24. Always gotta be 1-2 guys in the Cubs rotation that can’t make it cleanly through the 1st
