  1. 5-1 against the Cardinals (I know they’re a sub 500 team but it’s the Cardinals) 3-0 against the Mets 5-1 against the Padres 3-0 against the Dodgers (No need to look up how we’ve done against the Brewers, Indians and Giants, I’m sure it’s also good)
  2. The Cubs and Cardinals have played 2 Sunday Night Baseball games and have scored 5 total runs combined in those 2 games. Only 2 total runs in the innings that don’t start with a runner on 2nd
  3. Espns broadcast is meh but I love the pitcher tracker in the top left corner telling you every pitch in the AB. Really helps the viewer follow the AB and I find myself trying to predict what pitch is coming next in the sequence Oh and Cubs win!
  4. You could see that coming with Wisdom. He’s had a couple that looked like they may have been overthrown or were inaccurate
  5. Ugh leadoff double before Goldschmidt and Arenado. This could hurt
  6. Brewers about to be 17-4 in their last 21 games. Games were against: <500: Washington (3-0) Detroit (1-1) Arizona (4-0) Pittsburgh (3-0) 11-1 >.500 Cincinnati (4-1) San Diego (2-2) 6-3 Their next 13 games are against the Reds (1 over .500), Diamondbacks (worst record in baseball) and Rockies (16 games under .500) During that same stretch the Cubs have 4 at NYM, 3 vs MIA, 2 vs CLE, 4 at LAD. So 10 of 13 against above .500 teams, 8 of them on the road. The good news is that after today the Cubs have the 28th hardest SOS remaining. Of course the Brewers have the 30th hardest. Brewers will cool off but the Cubs will likely have to continue to play great against good teams to stay within a couple games of Milwaukee
  7. Goldschmidt looks to be settling nicely into the decline phase of his career. Cardinals have him for 3 more years after this at $22m a year.
  8. Are we far enough in the season to he concerned about Kyle? I guess he’s the kind of guy where if he can get back into a groove he locks in for a couple of months
  9. Wow 48 pitch inning. You don’t see that everyday. Gant threw 65 pitches in 1.2 IP and only gave up 1 hit lol
  10. How should we feel about Alcantara? I mean yes over Sogard all day but just looking at his minor league numbers there’s nothing at all that suggests he can be any more than a marginal MLB player other than his numbers this year
  11. 7-4 now during that really tough 17 game stretch
  12. Damn I thought that was gone, but I'll certainly take a 2 run double too
  13. Seems a bit low for a Friday afternoon Cubs-Cardinals game. I'm sure there are still many that are hesitant to attend a packed baseball game but today sort of feels like a celebration with the city opening up, thought this one would be full at least.
  14. It's insane how often these 12+ pitch ABs end in an XBH. Like I get it, after fouling off 6-7 straight pitches the advantage starts to shift to the hitter but still, even if you have the timing right you still have to hit the ball
  15. Have to admit my cold vaccinated heart still really enjoyed that moment.
  16. Nice 14 pitch PA for Rizzo, hopefully these types of at bats are infectious. That'll give the team a shot in the arm <>
  17. Wow 9 spot has 3 walks today, twice the pitcher and once a hitter who is 4-41 this year (albeit 9 BBs)
  18. Hell yeah, nice work legging out a triple by Alcántara. Get this run home please
  19. Oh for sure and it was unbearable when he was with the Dodgers. Now its bearable but I can't unsee it ever.
  20. Ugh Kohl has not looked great his last 2 starts
  21. Rizzo and Tom are really ruining 100% capacity day with this BS
