  1. I’m very confused that this game is in the 4th inning. Can’t remember the last time a Cubs game started at 5
  2. So....national TV game, on the road, against the best pass rush in the league? Sounds like a great place to debut the statue of Andy Dalton over the rookie QB everyone wants to see.
  3. Can’t believe I’m enjoying watching Michigan get completely lit up.
  4. I don’t really think I understand why the Cubs are over .500 but they are and I like it.
  5. Why must it be an anxiety filled situation? She’s done plenty of high profile PBP. I doubt a regional sports network game between the Cubs and Pirates is *that* big of a deal for her. I mean she’s been the lead PBP on a MNF game before.
  6. Beth Mowins. And I think he's done some Saturdays, but I don't think he's done a single Sunday yet. I’ve enjoyed her so far. I’d take her over Zaidman any day
  7. Yaz and Ripken are both really close. Ripken was almost worth 40 WAR from 30-40. Same for Yaz. Pujols was worth like 11. That's insane considering he played every single game (except 1 in 1998) in 8 of those 11 years and was playing a premium defensive position in 6 of those 11 years. I realize that playing every game at a premium position allows him to accumulate more WAR than someone playing 140 games in LF but the wear and tear of playing every day at SS combined with the inevitable decline from aging makes it impressive to me. Moreover, he was not an elite hitter most of the time. In 1992 at age 31 he had a .689 OPS and still accumulated 3.7 fWAR. Outside of 1991 where he was a monster and had almost 11 WAR, he was consistently a 3-4 win guy throughout his 30s.
  8. Feel like its a noteworthy enough transaction. They stuck with him through many crappy years only to release him during his final year. Not sure if any team will actually pick him up so this may be the end of a HOF career
  9. Extend Rizzo and name him a captain. I don’t care if we watch his inevitable decline, I can’t imagine him playing on another team.
  10. He’s looking lost against everyone. Terrible AB by Bote too
  11. His reaction, Boogs call. Didn’t even make it to the wall lol
  12. You think the road team should do that? im mildly surprised when the home team doesnt do it when its still tied but im sure they gamed it out and have determined theyd rather take 3 chances of hitting a single instead of 1 chance to get a sac fly and 1 chance at a single
  13. So nice of Muncy to break out of his season long slump at the exact moment he faces the Cubs
  14. The only reason the catcher made a throw to second on the attempted steal in that inning was because a pitcher was on 3rd and he knew wouldn't try to score if he threw to second. In a normal situation Garcia would have been able to take 2nd uncontested. He laughably botched that game. Sox fans have to be loving their manager right now.
  15. I guess it depends on whether you believe what Bryant has said on the matter. It could be posturing but as recently as this spring he's stated a desire to be a Cub for life. Now I'm not naive and realize he can say that and have no desire to return. But I believe he would return at market value but also that he never had any intention of agreeing to a contract before testing FA.
  16. There's a really good thread on twitter breaking down the number of starts every team has given to a black QB in their history. As of September 2020, the Bears ranked 23rd in most starts with 41, but Mahomes and the Chiefs as well as Kyler and the Cardinals have since passed them, so 25th. The worst is the Giants, who have given just 1 start to a black QB in their entire franchise history - Geno Smith
  17. Every time Wolters bats it makes me even more angry that we allowed him to eliminate us from the playoffs
  18. Lol at least we are going to be happy the Cubs blew this when we’re in a tight tank race in September
