  1. This might be baseless but if it’s not holy horsefeathering horsefeathers are the Bears poorly run. Either you keep the GM and let them run the show or you fire them. You don’t keep them and then handcuff them from making moves.
  2. Unless I missed something, both the '21 and '23 pick are top-4 protected, although I haven't seen anything on how those picks are conveyed if they fall in the top 4. I believe I read the other day that if the '21 pick ends up as a Top 4 pick, then the first 1st rounder goes to 2022 and is Top 3 protected. I have no idea what happens if the Bulls also retain the 2022 pick.
  3. .....2. Saturday and today
  4. Who else predicted the pitching going to horsefeathers as soon as the offense started hitting
  5. Who the horsefeathers cares about this horsefeathers. The fact is, the Cubs have 3 games this year where they scored more than 5 runs, and in each of them, they annihilated some back end of the roster shlubs. They could very well make the playoffs or the make the play-in again; but we know who these guys are and what we can expect if that pitcher is pumping gas and staying up in the zone. No one does. My post was dripping with sarcasm
  6. We still won the aggregate for the series 18-12 though
  7. Cubs last 8 series against Milwaukee WLL LWL WLL LWW WLLL WLW WLLL WLL Cubs are 6-2 in the opening game of the series, but their series record is just 2-6 (and one of those 2 wins was in a series where they lost the first game, so overall they are 1-5 when they win the first game of the series). Overall, the team that has lost the first game of the series has gone 6-2.
  8. Cubs lost yesterday 4-3 and are losing today 1-0. The Cubs have walked/HBP 3 runs in during those 2 games ugh At least we’re still winning the aggregate for the series 18-7
  9. Almora robs Schwarber. What strange times we live in
  10. I cannot believe that Javy hit didn’t go out. I thought it was easily going to go even with the wind
  11. I’m so glad we won’t see the Brewers much after this. 3 of Woodruff’s 5 starts this year have come against the Cubs
  12. Bases loaded 0 outs and a run in is one way to start a game
  13. Bases loaded 0 outs is one way to start a game
  14. RIP Chafin love fest. If the Cubs lose today and tomorrow it will be the 5th time in the last 8 Cubs-Brewers series where the Cubs win the first game and lose the rest of the games of the series (2 of those times were 4 game series)
  15. 3 straight walks with a runner on and 2 out is less than ideal Edit: and then a HBP
  16. This hot streak feels so good because not only did the Cubs end last season on a horrific swoon offensively but they started this season on a historically bad slump as well. Feels like ages since they've looked good at the plate. Maybe this will be the offensive hot streak that doesnt turn into a horrific slump
  17. I know we are defying trends and expectations regularly over the last week but the toughest trend to break will be "win first game vs. Milwaukee, lose the next 2"
  18. I just played a round of "blindly read the game thread and guess the score" and even with all the optimism I thought maybe the score was like 4-0 or something. Did not imagine 10-0 lol
  19. Oh snap I just realized that KB purposely got caught stealing 2nd so that Javy would be the base runner in the 10th. That’s some Galaxy brain horsefeathers by KB
  20. Nice. Too bad this extra innings rule is designed specifically to screw the Cubs at home because we can’t score a runner from 2nd with 0 outs
  21. I’d guess very low. Hard to remove something after it’s in place for a couple of years unless it’s a complete disaster. Most of us will still hate it but will be used to it enough to not throw a big fit about it.
  22. I don’t know why people complain about this so much. He was out, and replay showed it. I mean it’s unfortunate and flukey but if he’s out he’s out even if it took super slow mo to prove it because he beat the throw easily.
  23. Is it bad to think I would have rather had Kimbrel for the 10th? I know that if you use another pitcher in the 9th you may not have a 10th but I don’t trust too many Cubs with a runner on 2nd and 0 outs. Also Kimbrel threw 7 pitches in the 9th, maybe he could have at least started the 10th
  24. Ugh gonna strand a leadoff triple in a tied game in the 8th
