  1. Makes sense...mid round pick so hopefully Bills are picking up a majority of the money. Bears trying to clear salary space, he's the highest priced guy at a position we have a surplus, and he had a down year last year and was invisible for entire games. That said, he had some of the biggest catches of the season and it sucks to see him go. My son is going to be devastated, the bomb against GB was the moment that his Bears fandom fully clicked and he LOVES DJ Moore...begged me to buy his jersey and it took a lot of convincing to get him to choose another Bear (Loveland lol) Bears will probably need a FA veteran WR at this point...Caleb and Keenan Allen had solid chemistry at the end of 2024 and will allow Burden and Rome to stretch the field with him as a safety valve. Just a thought..
  2. It's a gut punch for sure. People are saying not a big deal that the backup PG is out, but he was becoming a very important piece and really hitting his stride the last month or so. Looking over the roster there are probably only 3 players I would have wanted to see out the rest of the year less than Cason, and yes that includes Cadeau, the starting PG. (Yax, Mara, Morez being the 3).
  3. I've heard Mara and Johnson are hoping to be closer to middle of 1st round to leave but we'll never know until the season ends. I'd bet at least one stays but we'll see. Yeah brain fart on Gayle, he's done
  4. man that sucks. agreed everyone has the right to do whats best for their physical and mental health and honestly I dont blame him but thats a big blow for the bears.
  5. True it’s not safe to assume anyone will stay these days. Michigan has a pretty big war chest though and McKenney has been given a permanent role as a freshman with a clear path to a larger role next year so I’m not super concerned. Cason was recruited to FAU by Dusty and then brought to Michigan when he took the job and now has a torn ACL so I’d expect him to stay. I could see someone like Gayle hit the portal since he’s already done it once and his role is probably less than he was expecting.
  6. Definitely not another Yax out there most likely. It will be interesting to see who goes to the draft but Trey McKenney is a top 30 prospect who is playing very well as a true freshman in a backup role, Cason is another reserve that has stepped up in key moments. Gayle has been in a role that’s probably beneath his ability (though he has flaws). It would be hard to say they’ll be as good as this year but their depth will help them and in this new reality of college sports Yax leaves but that’s $3m in NIL they can use in the portal.
  7. The second half of the Purdue game made me more impressed with them. Purdue kept hitting big shots and making mini runs and Michigan kept answering to keep the game out of range. In a hostile road environment they basically kept them at arms length despite Purdue playing really well.
  8. I’ll have you know I’m watching the Bulls just as much since the deadline as I was before.
  9. that doesn't sound promising
  10. Sounds like they're moving to Indiana...
  11. I’m not watching the video but if he did anything except tee off against him he should be released.
  12. But the funny thing about suddenly stockpiling 2nd round picks is they spent their first several years treating 2nd round picks like they were radioactive, selling them off or dumping them for euro prospects that never planned to play in the NBA. Now all the sudden they are the Temu Thunder
  13. I've heard that there's a little known rule that teams that exchange 9 second round picks for an additional 1st round pick. 4D chess by AKME. But seriously, if the returns seem underwhelming its because they traded everyone 1-2 years too late in an attempt to embrace mediocrity.
  14. pretty sure these faces are not the faces of bulls guards (I dont know maybe they are)/captain is not billy Donovan, but Gemini did its best
  15. US group stage times are crazy considering we're the host country. I get that the games are on the west coast but 50% of the country lives in ET and 75% in ET or CT. Friday, June 12 at 9pm ET Friday, June 19 at 3pm ET (wtf? 3pm on a workday?) Thursday, June 25 at 10pm ET (wtf? 10pm on a work night?) I'm sure the 6/19 game time is to accommodate Australia (8am in Sydney), but the 6/25 game is against a UEFA team meaning it will air in the middle of the night over there.
  16. Super random but a friend who is a fan of another team asked me this yesterday. Now that the season is over and emotions have settled etc, what would have been a better outcome for you: -What happened (playoff win over Packers, OT loss to Rams) -A close loss in the NFC championship game after beating let's say the 49ers and Eagles. Also the championship game loss is not to the Packers.
  17. I hate to be a hater but am I the only one who could never come around on Rose again after the rape allegations? Even if he didn't actually rape the woman, what he did with her completely soured my impression of him and his statements in court ('we men', and not knowing what consent is) were disappointing at best. I dunno, I loved Rose as much as any Chicagoan during his peak years, his injury felt as brutal as anything I've ever experienced as a sports fan, I feel for what he had to go through with all the knee injuries, but I just can't get past that in my head.
  18. 6 or 8 teams would have been absolutely perfect. 12 is too much.
  19. What a fun night at the UC with Caleb, PCA, Toews, etc
  20. He has the raw talent and IMO he's showed he has the mental component. You can't teach raw talent and the mental side (IMO) is difficult to teach. Footwork and accuracy seem very fixable. We're in a good spot with Caleb
  21. Exactly, there are so many ways to clear up money. It’s SOP for NFL teams these days. When you have no giant contracts (Sweat at $25m is the most, I believe only 2 contacts over $17m) and your QB and other key pieces are still on rookie deals you can really go out there and have an impactful offseason and continue to build. Just have to be smart and not do what the Commanders did last offseason.
  22. that’s over $30m with just those 3 moves
  23. I am seeing lots of people now saying the Bears can’t add in the offseason because of their cap position and that couldn’t be farther from the truth. They have no huge contracts, most of their draft picks and a ton of guys who would be perfect for restructuring. If anything I’d say they are in a great position to improve and can probably get $40-50m freed to improve the roster.
  24. That’s not what I said. I was trying to say that they either won the game outright, or they lost it on the final play edit: whoops someone already clarified for me lol. Carry on
  25. Crazy to think that 16 of the Bears last 17 games were either Bears wins or Bears losses that happened on the last play of the game. What a season.
