  1. If Nagy had any control over his team would he be making Dalton his starter again
  2. Matt Nagy definitely broke him lol
  3. Lions punt from 8 yards into their end zone and the Bears will get it at their own 16 due to botched return and stupid penalty. This team…
  4. Really rising up for their embattled coach
  5. Stupid NFL making the Bears play on thanksgiving so I can’t ignore it Bad drop and defensive penalty on the first play so far
  6. It kind of does. Defense looks like it’s regressed a bit. The Rockets were 12-17 from 3 after midway through the third and thats a lot of look but also a lot of wide open looks allowed. I think they’re a good team but they need to bring it every night to maintain their level of play and they just don’t look like they have the last 2 games. This stupid playin rule makes taking games off much less forgiving since the East is pretty stacked with good teams and there are only 6 guaranteed spots.
  7. I don't think that's the case given that its not some random twitter rumor and the fact that the Chicago media ran with it big time. Either they got some details incorrect or the plan changed after it blew up or both (like: the decision was made but Nagy was NOT told on Monday, with everything blowing up they decided to wait until the end of the season). Nagy's lack of effusive denial, the weird cancelling of all meetings, etc. Too much smoke to be totally untrue.
  8. I'm fine if we lose but I'm not happy to give Detroit a win. As soon as those fans get a whiff of superiority they become annoying af I have to admit, I dont think I've ever experienced that. Maybe the Berry Sanders years, but like, 2 years tops Just detroit fans in general. I used to work with a lot of them. They were relentlessly annoying when the Lions went 9-1 against the Bears during the 10's. Pistons fans still hate the Bulls and Red Wings fans were assholes during their dynasty. My favorite is one season the Lions went 4-0 in the preseason and every morning when I came into work this co-worker would come over and brag about how the Lions were going to stomp the Bears and was talking about how the Lions were better at every position except Linebacker. He pushed me into making a bet for whenever the first Bears/Lions game was that year where the loser had to wear the winners jersey to work for an entire week. The season started and....well this was the year the Lions went 0-16. He shut up pretty quickly. But the next summer after FA he started talking about how great of an offseason the Lions had and how they 'completely closed the gap'. Come to think of it, that co-worker definitely shaped/skewed my opinion of Detroit fans, but he's not the only annoying one I've encountered in person or online by a long shot.
  9. More fun Bears disfunction: Doesn't surprise me one bit with the way he said Andy was still the starter one day, and then the next day naming Fields the starter. Clearly someone nudged (or shoved) him into making that decision.
  10. I'm kind of happy to give Detroit a win. those folks need something to celebrate I'm fine if we lose but I'm not happy to give Detroit a win. As soon as those fans get a whiff of superiority they become annoying af
  11. Rodgers has COVID Toe. I guess that didn't come up in his research.
  12. Blah
  13. At this point I don't think any other beat writer or anyome has remotely confirmed, right? There may well be something there, but maybe not exactly as it's reported. There hasn't been any independent confirmation yet, but the Bears' FO hasn't issued any denials yet, either. Something clearly is up and my gut is telling me this story broke before the Bears' FO got to talk to Nagy and inform him of his imminent firing. Weirdly enough, this might result in Nagy being spared until after the season due to the McCaskeys trying to save face. That's exactly what I was thinking. I bet he survives until the end of the season now.
  14. Damn, I guess there's a reason why the dude that reported the story works at The Patch - he's a racist [expletive] https://www.cjr.org/united_states_project/chicago-reader-racist-cover-mark-konkol.php
  15. I do still believe the report is probably accurate, but it is interesting that some of the most connected Bears reporters in the Chicago media have been trying to track down confirmation all day and no one has gotten even a nibble.
  16. apparently because he modernized their football operations department and they want him around to have influence over the new stadium from a football perspective. But mostly because they are not equipped to run a modern football franchise and refuse to admit it while making the same mistakes over and over again.
  17. https://twitter.com/PFF_Brad/status/1463198645885538309 More rumors....I'm pretty sure this is what is going to happen. By all accounts the McCaskey's love Pace...
  18. Would be funny if this was false after the media has run with it as true. Nagy speaks to the media in about 10 minutes....
  19. This just gets worse: Fields was of course classy about it to the media and said all the right things, but I wonder if he had anything to do with the behind the scenes shift to Fields as starting QB
  20. That loss still pisses me off. The Bears throwing up 10 late in the 4th quarter gives the Lions just enough time to comeback and win.
  21. So Nagy already has been fired and hes gonna coach why? Just cuz it's a short week? That's not a good enough reason. I think it's weird, but there's precedent for stuff like that happening, sorta. Hendry running the 2011 draft. Cutler said Lovie had informed the team he had been fired before his final game. I'm sure there are many others. Wait with Lovie? The Bears were alive for the playoffs until Sunday Night Football well after the Bears last game. I never heard this.
  22. Also there are reports that Dalton is starting Thursday. Fields' injury doesn't sound serious but they want to give him a game to rest his ribs.
