  1. Worst bye week of all time
  2. Putting an actual team in NYC makes a ton of sense. But I think if they did expand to 40 teams for some reason (hate this idea), then there would definitely be 2 European teams at the least. Maybe even have 4 of them to form a division and make the travel/bye week schedule easier. Thinking 2 in England (both in London or 1 in Wales). 1 in Germany. And I think Ireland would get the other as they hosted a college game a couple years ago. NYC/Brooklyn St Louis London 1 London 2 Germany Ireland San Diego Monterrey Whats the appeal of Monterrey over Mexico City? I know they've held games there so they must like the market. Easier travel or more affluent metro?
  3. Bears National Enquirer has a wild tumor
  4. Am I just totally forgetting a 1st Canadian team? horsefeathers. In my head I had Toronto as a team but forgot to list them lol I’ve always been meh about Toronto getting a team due to the proximity of Buffalo and the fact that they played games there in the past but when you have 8 teams to fill Toronto seems very logical. Also a friend who lives in Toronto told me he doesn’t even know of any Bills fans
  5. It's week 11 now so I'm creating a new thread. Lot of smoke about NFL expansion being considered as a way to resolve the St. Louis lawsuit over the Rams leaving. They are suggesting they may eventually expand to 40 teams which seems nuts. I can't even think of 8 possible cities.. 1) St Louis 2) London 3) Mexico City 4) San Antonio 5) San Diego 6) ummm 2nd UK or EU team 7) 2nd Canadian team? Montreal? Vancouver? 8) Austin maybe? 2nd Chicago team?
  6. Same people that didn't practice yesterday (Mack, Hicks, ARob) didn't practice today besides Eddie Jackson who was limited. It sucks to come off a bye week and still be missing several key players to injury.
  7. Sounds like playoffs I want this to happen so bad. Just make a whole mockery out of this 7th seed thing. Win-win. Nagy doesn't do well enough to keep his job. Fields gets playoff experience. Giants only get the 20th pick (with a 1st round loss) despite being almost as good as them. "Look, mom is really upset and we know things have to get better. Losing by 47 in our playoff matchup is not good enough. But if you look at it closely, Coach Nagy has guided the Bears to the playoffs in 3 of the last 4 seasons, something that this franchise has not done since 1991. He has overseen the growth of our franchise quarterback and an offense that rose from last in the league after 6 games to 29th in the league by the end of the season. He kept the team going strong while dealing with numerous injuries, and he was selfless in giving up control of the playcalling duties for the betterment of the team. If you look at Matt's track record, the team plays hard for him and he gets his team into the playoffs so we couldn't be prouder to have him as our head coach for another season. "
  8. RE: The Mariners being players during this FA
  9. I know I didn’t literally jinx the team but I typed up that post and thought “too cocky don’t hit submit” but did anyways. Blazers finished the game on a 69-44 run
  10. Terrible half. Offense went to crap and Blazers started hitting shots. Look tired
  11. Knew I shouldn’t have posted this lol
  12. This team is so boring. Same crap every night. Hit a bunch of ridiculous shots, play stifling defense, destroy the will of the team by the end of the 3rd quarter. Yawn
  13. IF true (big if), that changes the market quite a bit I think. The Tigers will probably get one of them (Correa) but who else is bidding besides their previous teams? -Padres, Phillies and Angels seem to be capped out -Mets are kind of a mess but are one option -Red Sox seem to be looking at the second tier (rumored to be interested in Javy). -White Sox don't really have a need for a SS -Don't have a solid grasp on what the Cubs or Nationals are going to do. I'd expect the Cubs to get involved if the market is lower than expected Who else? Jays, Cardinals, Giants? Maybe the Mariners or Rangers. All possibilities but I don't see any of those teams except maybe SF offering a gigantic contract the way the Yankees would have. Wouldn't be surprised if Seager ended up back in LA and Semien back in Toronto unless I'm missing some news. Why are the Mets an option for a SS? They just paid Lindor a ton and have Mcneil, JD Davis and Villar for infield options as well. Same with the Red Sox, already have Xander at SS who was paid a lot and then some other guys who can play the IF. I guess I just assumed since they showed interest in resigning Javy and they like to spend money but I forgot that Javy moved to 2B. I guess the Red Sox may be looking at Javy as a 2B as well.
  14. Ugh, Mack and Hicks still not practicing. Eddie Jackson is out too Also I think Matt Nagy is broken:

  16. I'd feel better if the central American teams Canada was facing weren't the teams that have a combined 1 win so far in the octo. It's one of those things where Canada(and Mexico) don't really matter unless they start dropping games like that. In this next window Canada's only really relevant head to head, Mexico playing CR and Panama at home is where we'll either get separation of the Top 3 or Mexico will find themselves in a much less comfortable place than they want to be. I'd argue that all 3 of the other teams at the top are relevant since they are separated by 2 points. That said it only takes one of them to fall off to feel pretty secure of a top 3 finish. Panama is clearly the weakest of the bunch so I see how you can say Canada and Mexico arent relevant since they are likely to continue towards qualifying, but you never know. Basically the US has 3 home games left, 2 against the aforementioned 1 combined win CONCACAF teams and then Panama. Win all 3 of those and there is nothing to worry about.
  17. Isn't So Michigan getting to 4 losses? Hey now, Michigan has avoided 4+ losses in 4 of Harbaugh's 7 seasons (assuming they don't lose out this year which I guess isn't out of the question). But 3 losses would cover all of Harbaugh's seasons, assuming they lose to OSU and the bowl game
  18. Speaking of this, Canada is basically the opposite, they still have 4 road games and they're all against central american teams. If they struggle like the US has they could slip fairly quickly. Here's the next window for the contenders: Canada: @ Honduras, v. USMNT, @ El Salvador USMNT: v. El Salvador, @ Canada, v. Honduras Mexico: @ Jamaica, v. Costa Rica, v. Panama Panama: @ Costa Rica, v. Jamaica, @ Mexico yeah the US really needs to be comfortably clear of the playoff after this window. I'd feel better if the central American teams Canada was facing weren't the teams that have a combined 1 win so far in the octo.
  19. I was going to say it would be so Michigan to lose the game before Ohio State with everything on the line, but it's not. So Michigan is going into the Ohio State game with everything on the line and talking yourself into believing there's a chance and then getting walloped. The worst was a couple years ago when the week before the game Ohio State was one late 2 point conversion away from losing to Maryland and allowing Michigan to clinch a trip to Indy (Michigan was 8-0 going into the game, Ohio State would have been 6-2). Even though OSU won, we deluded ourselves into believing we were going to win. Michigan was favored, it was at home, we had won 10 in a row since losing to ND in the opener. And we got absolutely obliterated 62-39. horsefeathers I hate this rivalry.
  20. The concerning thing is that their 3 toughest road games are left, and their last cycle includes 2 of them and a home game v Panama, so it'd be nice to have some clearance on qualification going into that. You’d consider at Costa Rica tougher than at Panama at this point?
  21. Almost a worse case scenario night. Panama and Costa Rica both cut the US lead over playoff and out to 1 and 6 points (from 3 and 8) and it’s only halftime but I think a tie would be the optimal result between Canada and Mexico which is not the case so far. Only thing worse would be the US getting 0 points instead of 1
  22. If the scores hold the US will be just 1 point ahead of a playoff spot at the end of the night. Huge [expletive] at the top of the table potentially. US 15 Mex 15 Can 14 ————— Pan 14 ————— Jam 7 CR 7 We are still in good shape but still have our 2 toughest road matches left (along our 2 easiest matches)
  23. Yeah it’s this dude again. What else do we have to talk about with the Bears
  24. Yeah the Westbrook trade was terrible. They gave up multiple role players from their title team who instantly made Washington a good team. And like you said, his contract makes him very hard to trade, though ironically he’s been traded twice already with his current contract but at some point he’s going to run out of teams willing to take a chance that they can turn him into a team player. Honestly, DeRozan seemed like a much better fit for their roster especially with LeBron breaking down
  25. If the Bulls win the title this year, the Lakers should get a championship ring. Decided on Horton-Tucker over Caruso and Westbrook over DeRozan. Both came to the Bulls and completely changed the trajectory of the franchise
