  1. They're definitely going to dominate college basketball for sure now. Dammit lol. I’ll take my L
  2. Seems pretty clear now. If Michigan wins: 1. Alabama 2. Michigan 3. Georgia 4. Cincinnati If Michigan loses (gulp): 1. Alabama 2. Georgia 3. Cincinnati 4. Notre Dame If the pressure of winning and clinching a playoff spot isn’t enough, a loss would give ND fans glee which is tough to swallow (sorry Andy!)
  3. Ok so 3 spots are likely clinched. 4th spot is either Michigan who has to beat a top 15 team to get in or Notre Dame who gets to chill out because they wont join a conference
  4. I’m not liking how this is setting up Michigan vs Georgia. Of course I’d like that better than not being in at all so I’ll worry about that when it happens I guess
  5. Rodney Adams!
  6. 2 weeks ago I proposed the exact scenario that’s occurring. Now Georgia has to beat Bama, Houston over Cincinnati and one other result that I dont want to happen Michigan can win and we’d still have chaos in that scenario. Does Baylor actually get in? It’s probably them or Ohio St right? Can’t imagine the committee would want to run Bama-Georgia back again in a 1-4 matchup. Not like Bama’s resume is amazing. It’s a good question. Ohio State has a much much better computer profile but got blown out in their last game and didn’t win a conference title which the committee is obsessed over. Pretending I don’t hate Ohio State for a moment I’d take them for various reasons but Baylor would have a legitimate gripe

  8. Dalton starting Sunday. Will have gone a month between Fields starts, which is literally the only reason to watch the Bears this year.
  9. BN breaks down why the Cubs are probably going hard after Correa. Big one is that they just acquired Stroman and Miley to go with Hendricks, 3 pitchers that rely on ground balls and in general balls in play. The Cubs IF defense is not exactly built for ground ball pitchers at all. Instead of Rizzo you have Schwindel. Instead of Hoerner (at 2B) you have Madrigal, instead of Javy at SS you have Hoerner. Jed has all the opportunity in the world to carefully plan his 'next great Cubs team" and while next year isn't a must win year, if you are targeting ground ball pitchers, part of the plan has to be putting them in the best position to be successful with a good defensive IF, right? I mean its possible Miley was too good to pass up on waivers and Jed misread the market and missed out on Ray and Syndergaard so he went after Stroman who didn't have a QO attached to him, and he will figure out the rest on the fly. But I choose to think Jed is a little more calculated than that. https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2021/12/03/the-cubs-and-carlos-correa-chatter-figures-to-pick-up-during-the-lockout-from-the-outside-at-least/
  10. Really hope that ME doesn't go to Portland. Wouldn't it be a parallel move unless they name him VP or President?
  11. This is pretty crazy re: Hermosillo: https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2021/12/03/so-heres-what-happened-with-michael-hermosillos-weird-roster-journey-this-week/ If the Dodgers had that type of interest, that's a good sign even though it looks like they weren't willing to offer him a major league deal.
  12. Damn thats a shocker
  13. how the hell did that team only win 44 games (or 37 if it was the year before) honestly either didn't know or completely forgot mitch richmond was ever on the warriors. Run TMC! I remember really liking them the 1-2 years they were together. Then the Warriors traded Richmond for some reason that I never understood and sucked for 20+ years before the Curry Warriors rose up.
  14. I don't like it during most of the game, but late in the game I love it. If the Bulls need a basket late, its comforting to see the ball in DeRozan's hands with the shot clock running out. He will either create a good shot or take a contested shot that has a better chance of going in than a wide open shot from many players. Not as big of a fan of Zach in those situations. He did have a nice dribble drive to the basket to draw a foul, but many times he just dribbles around the 3 point line and then launches one. He makes his fair share of them but it's not a high percentage shot.
  15. I haven’t watched much but I keep reading people saying they can’t miss.
  16. Blah blah blah it’s the NBA teams do this all the time. Sure but the Bulls seem to make it an art form. Up 23 down to 4 tonight
  17. I'm guessing a big focus for the Cubs will be left-handed bats coming out of the lockout. Looking at their projected position players the only players who can hit lefty are Deichmann, Heyward, Alcantara, Ortega and Happ. Thats....pretty rough. While I'd happily take Correa, he doesn't help in that department and neither does Castellanos. Some options, not ranked by how realistic: Schwarber Rizzo Conforto Kyle Seager Eddie Rosario Villar Or maybe we'll see Joc Jams Vol 2
  18. It's been almost 20 years since I saw him nearly take hitters' heads off with his out of control curveball in the minors. I would have taken the under on almost any bet involving his major league career length back then. Heck its been almost 15 years since I saw him give up a 1st pitch HR to Chris Young as I was walking to my seats for Game 3 of the 2007 NLDS. Dude just won't quit.
  19. I wonder what Javy would say privately about the Cubs organization. Not saying he would trash us (or praise us) necessarily.
  20. Interesting to read that Jed consciously altered his offseason plan when pitching names started dropping like flies. Explains why the Cubs were so incredibly quiet until earlier this week. https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2021/12/02/jed-hoyer-says-yes-the-cubs-realized-they-needed-to-adjust-their-strategy/
  21. Is there like some rule that if Michigan football does well the basketball team can’t and vice versa? I know it’s early season but Michigan has some considerable issues. Some are fixable, but some seem to be beyond hope.
  22. Hmm
