  1. Bears avoid playing at noon on Sunday for the 6th time in 8 weeks (2 MNF, 1 SNF, bye, Thanksgiving, late afternoon game). Seahawks apparently have a terrible pass D, so this would be a good chance for Fields to showcase his improvements as he's relentlessly faced great defenses almost every week he's started.
  2. Georgia is already having COVID problems, not sure about the other 3, but I saw that Michigan and Alabama are having their entire teams boosted this week. We could see a team win a title by default. A COVID aided Natty would sure look nice next to Michigan's half-natty in 97. Michigan fans are happy and Michigan haters can still say they haven't won an outright title since the 40s. To be clear I'm not rooting for that outcome, that would really suck. To be fair, Michigan is already well familiar with winning championships without playing all the games. I could respond with a solid comeback but I'll tread lightly due to the number of Illini fans I respect here  Take your heart
  3. This is going to be interesting Georgia is already having COVID problems, not sure about the other 3, but I saw that Michigan and Alabama are having their entire teams boosted this week. We could see a team win a title by default. A COVID aided Natty would sure look nice next to Michigan's half-natty in 97. 4. Ratings will hit all time lows if Fields doesn't play this weekend.
  5. I was gonna say “you don’t know Peggy Kusinski” but I guess you aren’t local. She’s pretty legit locally
  6. very clearly too upright. like sliding into 2nd. bad In addition to concussions, I'm worried he's going to tear up his knees the way he slides.
  7. "We tried really hard" It says Correa wants a contract like Seager's (10/$325). The Cubs don't want to go to 10 years and are more concerned with years than AAV. So maybe 8/$300 which is 37.5m aav instead of 32.5?
  8. Fields has 12 in 9 games (9 starts, one was a half game, and another half game vs. CIN). Prorate that to 16 games (to compare historically) and that's 21.3 fumbles which would be the 3rd most fumbles in a season in NFL history (the record is 23). It's a lot. Also concerning is that I feel like several of Fields fumbles are coming in the open field. Tom Brady's likely weren't coming on designed runs. Like the one last night...that can't happen. Getting blindsided as you drop back to pass is quite a bit more excusable. I don't mean to be overly negative about it because this doesn't mean he can't clean it up at all, and if he's rushing for 400+ yards a year you can live with it, but I think its a problem right now. Edit: Though looking back at the league leaders you posted, many of them are running QBs, so maybe that's just the price you pay for QBs who run a lot, though he needs to get better in general
  9. Cutting the deficit to 11 with 8:40 to go and assuming you get the ball twice more when your defense is shutting the other team down and your offense is moving the ball isn’t the absurd choice you’re making it out to be. Even with that factored in, you're pretty close to the endzone. You need at least one TD and you're in a position to get it. 9 yards out. That's a great spot to get the one or two TDs you need. Especially for a team that, while moving the ball well in the game, is allergic to scoring TDs. You have to try to score a TD whenever you get that close in that situation IMO
  10. This is interesting. I know he's old and probably bad now but he used to be an effective big and he can still shoot. Wouldn't be shocked if he's around longer than 10 days Oh and he's being signed because Dotson has COVID Edit: I guess Mac Mc-something is being signed to replace Dotson, not sure who Illyasova is replacing...maybe Stanley Johnson, or there's another Bulls on the COVID list unreported.
  11. Even more critical because a President of Football Operations is probably going to have more rope than the subsequent GM and coach that are hired. You are giving this person at least 5-7 years to figure things out.
  12. https://twitter.com/PFF_Anthony/status/1473288086767509506?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet I agree that at this point its stupid to get angry about Graham not playing until now because this staff will be gone, but it still frustrates me because I was so high on him coming out of the draft and couldn't understand why he wasn't playing. You can say its just one game, but it wasn't like he played decent or good, he had a legit terrific game. Jaylen and Graham as the CBs of the next 4-5 years sounds appealing.
  13. Every week I talk myself into the possibility of Nagy getting fired even though I know our conservative prideful (ironically) franchise won't do it because that's not what they did in the 30's. Every week I'm a bit disappointed because things keep getting worse with Nagy and its clear he's not going anywhere. It's basically sabotage in multiple ways to let him finish the season. Such a dumb franchise. Anyways, due to Nagy meeting with reporters right now its clear he's here to stay (for 3 weeks).
  14. One thing about Fields - he seems to struggle early on most games and then improves as the game goes on. Not every week but we've seen it in several games now. Not sure if he needs time to get into a rhythm or he succeeds because the conservative Nagy game plan breaks down when the Bears start trailing, but its interesting to see him figure it out as the game goes on.
  15. I haven't listened to this yet but based on the tweet Biggs seems to think Fields wasn't that good yesterday
  16. Nagy now has a .500 record as head coach of the Bears (32-32 including playoffs). He is 7-18 in his last 25 games
  17. Statistically yes but eye test I think the Steelers game was better as he put up similar stats but on the road and in a high leverage situation.
  18. I’m not. Let’s go garbage time stats for fields! He had probably 160 passing yards, 20 rushing yards and his only TD in garbage time. Overall this was his best passer rating in a game so far (96.6)
  19. Exact same situation as the playoff game last year. Bears stuck on 3 points, Bears throw a meaningless touchdown to a TE on the last play of the game and can’t kick the XP. Give Fields the NVP!
  20. Nagy finally relents and says ok let’s get aggressive what do we have to lose. fields takes them down the field and Nagy thinks “oh crap we might actually score here, we’d better play this cautiously” and his stubbornly conservative mentality kicks back into gear
  21. Knew after the 1st down run that they weren’t scoring points. So predictable
  22. Fields leads the Bears down the field effortlessly after Finally throwing down field and on first and goal they go back to running up the gut
  23. Will it though? There’s a reason the Bears have been mostly terrible since the early 90s
  24. Yes. I have no idea if Mooney was supposed to be the RB on that play, I think he just slid in there because the play clock was running down
  25. Lol
