I thought he started the season strong but kinda flattened out https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WentCa00/gamelog/2021/ But like...what is their backup option? Sure this allows them to try to find their QB of the future and clears his salary but I dunno he seemed acceptable enough to keep around until a better option appeared.

I'm confused about his season and the Colts desire to trade him. His numbers look solid, but I didn't watch him a ton. I know the whole team fell flat on their faces against Jacksonville but unless the Colts have an immediate better option not sure the rush to trade him.

I do not follow international signings very closely so this reply might be ignorant but aren't individual franchises running developmental academies in Latin America with hopes of gaining favor with those prospects when the signing period opens? Obviously, the spending restrictions don't allow you to horde up on players in your academy and sign them all but I would think an international draft gives teams less incentive to invest in these academies, thus is worse for developing players in these countries.

The fact that I won a round even though my most known quality at that point was "posting about basically every Notre Dame sports game" retroactively seems impossible. Wish I could find those polls. I think I made it to the Sweet 16 and lost to Raw. I had (have) so much respect for him that I was telling people to vote for him lol. Either way, I couldn't believe I won a couple of rounds - I felt very cool

The Hawks have definitely been better since Colliton was fired. They were 1-9-2 with him, and 20-20-6 without him. Though even if you extrapolated that 20-20-6 pace over a full season, the Hawks would still be in 7th place in the Central which is exactly where they are now. But obviously the new coach (I don't even remember his name, I've tuned the Blackhawks out for....reasons) has been dealt a shitty Stan Bowman roster and has legitimately overseen a pretty nice improvement. He seems fine to continue as head coach, especially since Davidson came out and admitted the Hawks are in a rebuild.

I've said this before but the salary cap is an absolute joke and needs to be fixed. If you don't want a salary cap then fine get rid of it. But you have teams like the Saints that are going to defer their contracts until an asteroid hits the earth and destroys all life on the planet. Whats the point if you can just continue to circumvent the cap? The point of the cap is to make sure the player share of revenue is hit. It's really not about competetive balance or whatever. Some teams are eventually gonna be takers and others not, and they'll reallocate the bucket. Wouldn't that be a salary floor then? Or is it to protect the owners from going over the player share of revenue?

I'm just basing it off of the NHL and ESPN+ which might not be fair because I think they do multiple game nights with exclusive games, but I think there's been like 4-5 Blackhawks games that have been exclusive to ESPN+ which on one hand sucks as its Foley's last year and on the other hand is welcomed because the organization is a dumpster fire.

I hope this isn't like the NHL on ESPN+ where there is no local broadcast and you have to have AppleTV+ to watch the game, but I'm guessing it is, thus the exclusive wording. Edit: Yep, Marquee won't carry the games. You'll have to own Apple TV+ to watch. I hate what streaming is doing to media consumption.

In general good teams have good defense and know how to guard the Bulls to dare anyone but DeRozan to score on them. Vuc is in another shooting slump, Zach is hobbled, Coby is on the cold end of his continual hot and cold stretches, Ayo is scared to shoot. Of course offense is the least of the Bulls worries. It’s just that I’ve completely given up on their defense without Ball and/or Caruso mostly because the players have given up on defense. The only way they’re going to win with the current healthy roster is by outscoring them and right now the Bulls are even struggling to score at times
