  1. Stroman with 1 baserunner allowed in 4 innings. Cubs have a little more success against Cease but haven’t scored yet. Also for those that don’t visit the minor league forum but keep track of the minors it looks like Velazquez is coming up to Chicago
  2. Horvath even got some burn in the championship game, coming on for the last few minutes due to what I think was an injury to the other keeper
  3. Ok we got our usual 3 early runs. Time to hold on for dear life
  4. I didn’t know Cueto was on the Sox. Most of us probably won’t watch but in case something worth discussing happens here you go. A team has swept the season series only twice since they started playing in 1997: 1998 Cubs swept the Sox 3-0 at Wrigley 2013 Cubs swept the Sox 4-0 with 2 games in each location. Sox are up 2-0 with 2 to play
  5. Well at least Liverpool won the FA Cup Edit: And Carabao cup. And they still have derbies to play next year
  6. Here's what he wrote about it:
  7. Here is a dozen examples of Seiya getting a called strike on a ball this year.
  8. I mean I guess its fine to give them credit, but we're talking about them doing something that like 25 other teams are also doing. Yes it would be very Cub like to be one of the handful of teams not doing it though I guess as the Cubs seem completely incapable of doing the right thing. Not gonna tell you how to interpret this, but only 11 teams were doing both(EXST pay, own bedroom in every affiliate) according to the Twitter account: https://twitter.com/MiLBAdvocates/status/1529972093047169027/photo/2 My bad, I just read the tweet where it said the Brewers and Reds were 2 of the few teams. Should make sure I'm educated on the matter before offering praise and/or criticism. I...just cant help myself when I comes to the Cubs

  10. Cubs outscored by 6 runs in a split series against the Reds, nice job
  11. I keep seeing this. Is he making a bunch of nice defensive plays or something? Really haven't watched much of the Cubs at all in the last week or so. He is a useful player at a bunch of positions and is holding his own at the plate right now. Cool. My following of the Cubs lately is 'oh the Cubs scored 3 runs, who scored them?' and I haven't seen Morel a ton. A few times yes. Obviously not a way to evaluate a ballplayer lol, the Cubs just have me apathetic.

  13. I see the Cubs have gotten their customary multiple run early lead. Another Nico bomb Edit: And I see the Cubs have as usual started to blow it.
  14. Another bad one by the umps yesterday in a 1 run game: I didn't realize there was a website that keeps track of all this data. In that data it shows that the Cubs are the 4th worst favored team in baseball this year, losing ~7.33 runs due to bad umpire calls. For comparison, the worst team is the Pirates at -8.92 and the best team is the Diamondbacks at +12.85 https://www.umpscorecards.com/teams/
  15. I'm sure JR demanded that the Cubs games were on the weekend so they could sell out. They should have just done one of those 4 game series where they play Thursday-Sunday with 2 at Wrigley then 2 at GRate
  16. It was posted on the Trib's website but I don't subscribe so I found another website that copied it. It's a Paul Sullivan article.
  17. Deeming this the all things Marquee thread https://nationworldnews.com/column-criticize-the-chicago-cubs-not-on-marquee-sports-networks-the-reporters-show/
  18. DeRozan makes 2nd team All-NBA. List of Bulls to make an All-NBA team since the dynasty 1st - Rose, Noah 2nd - DeRozan, Gasol 3rd - Butler All did it once
  19. Interchangeable? OK I think we have an answer. Then again this is #RoadCubs. Lets see how these teams match up at Wrigley.
  20. Asked this the other day in a game thread but curious to see if there are any signs of Seiya making adjustments and/or is he still mostly doing the things that he does well during this slump? Looking at my arbitrary sample size machine, Seiya has a line of .204/.257/.327/.584 over his last 26 games (105 PA), 0 HR, 34.3% K%, 6.7% BB%. Alarmingly, despite the .204 BA his BABIP over that time is .326. 105 PA is a lot but still not a large enough number to draw any permanent conclusions for a guy in his first 2 months in the MLB I guess. Just want to understand if he's showing positive signs outside of the raw numbers or if he's veering into Fukudome territory and will settle in as a .750s OPS hitter (or the equivalent in 2022 baseball)
  21. this sucks for the bears but football isn't of primary importance here. I hope its not true but the Bears/NFL need to investigate and take appropriate action if this is shown to be true
  22. fuuuuuuuck. put him on leave/suspend him immediately pending investigation and cut him if there's any truth to this.
