  1. You just killed my buzz. But looking at his minor league numbers prior to this start that seems spot on. Maybe we can trade him for a new Aramis. The part that killed my buzz was the "for those who remember him" line. I was going to let that one go haha
  2. He also told David Ross during the Spring that he would see him at Wrigley this year. Considering he was called up from Double A that's a fairly bold proclamation. Dude is nostradamus
  3. You just killed my buzz. But looking at his minor league numbers prior to this start that seems spot on. Maybe we can trade him for a new Aramis. And to be clear that's not a terrible outcome! For most of his Cubs tenure Hernandez was a league average player or slightly below, and having someone of that caliber able to eat up playing time at multiple positions helps raise a team's floor. Plus he could always figure something out and be more of a Contreras or a Chris Taylor in terms of value. I just remember he hit for power but drove me nuts because he struck out so much. Even in today's baseball he'd be top 10 in the league in K%. But yeah for a guy who was maybe a top 20 prospect coming into the season Jose Hernandez would be a solid outcome.

  5. Geez Morel might be able to replace Javy and Willson in swag
  6. Keegan Thompson is totally on track to be our All Star representative isn’t he?
  7. I’m at the game in the Bleachers and when the Pirates walked back to the pen after the skirmish they were booed loudly. One of the pitchers (I have no idea who because it’s a Pirates relief pitcher) responded by pointing up at the standings flags where the Pirates are apparently 0.5 games above the Cubs.
  8. Looks like Heyward is going on the IL and a guy I didn't know was on the roster (Conner Menez) is going to Iowa.
  9. FO torches the Bears new regime’s offseason regarding Fields: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/walkthrough/2022/reckless-abandonment-justin-fields
  10. Nooo Everton has to stay up. I'd be pissed. Hopefully they can take care of business on Thursday and then the weekend results won't matter. If that Sunday game matters for Everton, their best bet might be to try and keep it 0-0 for the first half and hope Spurs go up like 4-0 on Norwich so Arsenal knows their done. Yeah, and hopefully at that point Brentford is beating Leeds. All Everton needs is at least 2 points from their 2 games OR for Leeds to not beat Brentford (also scenarios involving Burnley but since they have 2 matches left, its less clear). Sounds pretty likely but Everton seems cursed this year so who knows.
  11. Given the GD should really only need a draw. That said, Arsenal please roast Everton so Leeds can have a better shot at safety and the dream of getting to see Pickford react to getting relegated stays alive. Nooo Everton has to stay up. I'd be pissed. Hopefully they can take care of business on Thursday and then the weekend results won't matter.
  12. Random question: which draft luck was worse for the Bulls: -Losing coin flip with the Lakers for the number 1 pick, which was Magic Johnson or -Winning the coin flip with the Kings for the 7th best lottery odds, which led to Sacramento winning the 2nd pick in the draft with those numbers. GarPax was enamored with Doncic and I’m 100% confident they take him at 2 instead of..bagley
  13. This ump is horsefeathering terrible
  14. Schwindel up with the bases loaded and 1 out, we’re doomed. Oh wait we’re gonna pinch hit. Wonder who it’s going to be? Oh great Ortega
  15. I’m shocked that Schwindel, Heyward and Villar couldn’t get it done in the 9th
  16. Well then you just missed 2 runs lol Edit: 3
  17. I don’t think you need a paid subscription to access the game on Apple TV+ but I’m not positive.
  18. Was this the guy that got banned? didn't realize he got banned, thought he just stopped posting. But yes that is the same sulley
  19. Gordo has written some very scathing articles about the Cubs lately. This one is after Rizzo was interviewed prior to his first game back in Chicago tonight (against the Sox) https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/yankees-anthony-rizzos-new-uniform-reminder-cubs-lost-culture?cid=sm_npd_rsn_chi_twt_mn Rizzo wanted to be a Cub for life and was definitely a bit pissed about the lowball offer (in his mind) and the fact that the Cubs never contacted him in the offseason
  20. Because it's the Bears and between Packers, chance of Lions on thanksgiving, and the need to fill at least 2 primetime games every week, and often more, plus the limits on the best teams doing it every week, the league doesn't have many better options. Yep. I've heard Bears consistently draw well on prime time viewers too. Makes sense as its the largest 1 team market in the NFL but man recent Bears primetime games have been so incredibly awful and unwatchable with the exception of the Steelers game last year.
  21. 4 of the last 5 at home in the most miserable part of the season weather-wise and after the season will likely be all but over. Bye in Week 14 when its to late to do us any good is strange too. Still a very easy schedule most likely but the way it is configured is possibly the hardest you can make it on the Bears. The meat heads will think it’s great because of the mythic advantage of “Bears weather” that hasn’t actually been an advantage Season ticketholders are going to take a bath most likely unless they dump their tickets early on. No one is going to pay face value to watch a 3-9 team play in 30 degree temps.
