  1. BN coming in hot with the cold stove rumors. That said its more of a Bruce Levine suggestion
  2. Thank God the Bears hired a GM that knows the importance of an offensive line.
  3. I was wondering why someone who had won medals for Canada in multiple Olympics would repatriate and compete for the US so I googled it. She was apparently the victim of repeated verbal abuse from Canadian officials so she decided to apply for US citizenship and got it. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/13/sports/olympics/kaillie-humphries-bobsled.html
  4. If someone told me at the start of the season that the Bulls would be playing only these players in a game in Early February I'd guess the season was a wash and we had a sell-off at the deadline: Coby White (s) Ayo Dosunmu (s) DeMar DeRozan (s) Troy Brown Jr. (s) Nikola Vucevic (s) ----- Malcolm Hill Tyler Cook Derrick Jones Jr Tony Bradley Matt Thomas
  5. Awesome. I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that he may be able to be back early because the fracture was on his non shooting hand. Sounds like that's the case. Edit: Of course Zach and Javonte are both questionable. Can't have nice things lol
  6. Dammit
  7. Lets take a look at the post ASB schedule Atlanta Memphis @ Miami @ Atlanta Milwaukee @ Philadelphia @ Detroit Cleveland At that point the Bulls should be pretty close to getting some guys back but man that may be a brutal stretch
  8. It's funny...we've seen 4 player acquisition periods from AKME. In 2 of them they did absolutely nothing and the other 2 they went balls to the wall lol. Very all or nothing FO. I think we're also all assuming that buyout guys will definitely come here. Players motivations for signing with teams after being waived can vary wildly. Take Tristan Thompson for example. Would be a solid candidate. But his priorities are said to be 1) Winning another championship, 2) playing in an enjoyable market before he retires. For both of those qualifications the Bulls would be like 7th in the pecking order. Our biggest advantage is we have a role and minutes to give a guy but that isn't always the biggest priority for guys who are just going to be FA in a couple months anyways.
  9. Not as well versed on pot draws for the WC, does the US have the same chance of getting any of the pot 1 teams? Basically asking the US odds of being in a group with Qatar.
  10. That timeframe is a little bit cherry picked given the crash in 2002. I'm sure he'd be able to cherry pick time frames where his statement is true. But either way his entire statement is cherry-picked and misleading. Franchise values have more than quadrupled over that time period. Acting like the poor owners who are selflessly choosing to own teams despite it being a bad investment is a terrible look IMO, but I realize its his job to put owners in that light when in a labor battle.
  11. Pretty much every name I've seen linked to the bulls has been eliminated as an option over the last couple of days. Even Millsap who was a buyout candidate went to Philly in the Harden trade, so now unlikely to be bought out.
  12. How can he peddle this horsefeathers with a straight face:
  13. How do we feel now about the deadline with less than 24 hours left? I'm starting to think we don't do anything, or its very minor like a back of the bench big to compete with Tony Bradley for being active on gameday. AKME is typically tight lipped so it probably plays into the lack of rumors surrounding them but it also seems like a lot of the obvious names have either been traded or seem to be off the market now. I'm fine with not making a panic move to hurt us long term, but I hope we're not just relying on making our improvements in the buy out market as those type of players haven't really favored Chicago in the past even when we've been good. Could definitely land someone solid like Millsap but there's also a chance we come up empty. With still another ~5-6 weeks before we get any guys back, I'm concerned that doing nothing will put us in real danger of ending up in a play-in spot. If that's the price we pay to stay on whatever long term plan AK has, so be it. But the restless impulsive fan in me would feel disappointed
  14. ESPN picks up the Bulls Hornets game tomorrow and shortly after this happens:
  15. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/33092757/re-draft-2021-nfl-draft-new-picks-first-two-rounds-different-teams-micah-parsons-kyle-pitts-justin-fields Interesting re-draft. All the 5 first round QBs go in the same position EXCEPT Fields who drops from 11 to 14. Also Jenkins drops to the Bears 2nd round pick without them having to trade up from 52 to 39
  16. I have no idea what in the hell the Kings are doing
  17. I kind of think that's exactly what he'll do. Seems comfortable walking if not. i dont buy that. Any team that trades for Rodgers will also have to fork over a ton for Adams, and that team will mightily struggle to get them both under the cap unless they have lots of caps pace. I could see Rodgers and Adams going to different teams easier then I could see them both going to the same team not named GB The Broncos have nearly $40m in cap space so they could do it with relative ease . You'd have to sacrifice in other areas of the roster and restructure deals, but pairing Rodgers/Adams and a solid defense with a stud young RB (Javonte Williams) makes them an immediate contender IMO so it seems like a no brainer is Rodgers really is willing to go to Denver.
  18. I don’t even care if it’s SportsMockery, I’m sharing this for the 1% chance it’s true. I buy that he has a solid relationship with Getsy, that’s well documented. But I am not sure Adams would have any interest in flipping to the Bears to catch passes from a young QB who struggled last year (even if we have high hopes of him developing in a competent offense the numbers are the numbers). But horsefeathers man he’d be the perfect WR for Fields. I mean he’d be the perfect WR for any QB but if you are looking to build an offense that can get the ball out of the QBs hands quickly, Adams is your man. He was such an important safety value for Rodgers over the last few years as he could run a short route and turn a 4 yard gain into a 40 yard gain like nothing or make ridiculous catches while heavily covered. Then you have Mooney getting open deep due to the defenses attention on Adams and….ahh I need to stop letting my imagination run wild lol.
  19. They could be if its a short term deal. The Cubs still have a gigantic lack of left handed hitters and the ones they have are not power bats (Heyward, Ortega, Diechmann, Alcantara). Doesn't mean it has to be Rizzo but he would be an option at a position where we can improve. The problem more than his bat IMO is that his defense swan dived last year. I didn't watch a ton of post-deadline Cubs but when I did I continually saw issues defensively at 1B so we need to get better there. Also his recurring back issues make him unreliable so we'd need a backup option to pair with him. Also, I don't think his sentimental status as a former Cub moves Jed at all but his leadership qualities might (outside of the whole vaccination issues). Finally, its very possible he blew all his money on NFT's and will be desperate to take the first contract offered to him after the deadline.
  20. This sucks for 3 reasons: 1. Larry Nance would have been a really nice fit on the Bulls and was someone I was targeting (along with Covington who was traded earlier) 2. In the short term the Blazers suck and the FRP won't convey making it less valuable as a trade piece. BUT.... 3. One of the things that made me feel comfortable about keeping LaVine was that there were not a ton of teams who were projected to have the flexibility to add the contract LaVine is seeking. Of course any team can get any player these days with cap manuvering and S+T, but it would be difficult for most teams to swing it. Now Portland should be considered a serious threat IF they think a LaVine/Lillard pairing is enticing as they can sign him outright, or take his contract in a S+T with the Bulls if he is set on coming here. I'm not convinced they think that's the case but if they do, could be trouble. I do think that LaVine is the Bulls to keep if they offer him a max deal, but its still a threat. Don't forget LaVine is from the PNW and he still lives there at least part of the time in the offseason. So LaVine can now push for the Super Max, and the Bulls need to feel more compelled to make moves this trade deadline to ensure the Bulls don't slip to a play-in spot and miss the playoffs altogether.
  21. How are they going to get under the cap? I know they’ve been excellent at maneuvering contracts to make it under the cap but at some point they have to pay the Piper. Figured it would be this season. The NFC South may be wide open but do they have a super bowl contending roster?
  22. I was pretty pessimistic about the defense when Caruso went down but they are worse than I thought they’d be. Some of it is fatigue I’m sure but they are likely a bottom 5 defense with the current healthy roster
  23. Where does Assistant to the Strength &/and Conditioning coach fit in?
  24. Big part of today's MMQB was spent talking about Eberflus and thought there was some cool tidbits in here that I hadn't read before, like Eberflus spending 90 minutes one-on-one with Fields the day he was hired outlining his vision for the offense with Fields behind center. Here's the link but I quoted the entire section below: https://www.si.com/nfl/2022/02/07/mmqb-super-bowl-week-bengals-scouts-rams-los-angeles
