  1. Wow.....this whole article...wow. For anyone too lazy to read "The Bears are probably looking to dump Fields, even though its a huge risk the Steelers should try to rehab him, lets give the Bears a Josh Rosen type deal to get him (2nd round pick, maybe add a future 3rd or 4th) to get it done"
  2. I would imagine that it would be in addition to, not instead of. As always, the Ricketts timing is impeccable. Correct, this is an attempt to suck in people who don't want to pay for all of cable but would still like to pay a sizable fraction of that for basically one sports team. The only market for this would be within the Cubs' blackout zone as MLB.TV, as of now, barely costs any more than Marquee as proposed would by itself. I don't know....access to the 3 documentaries they play 400 times a year and the 8 episodes of Cubs Top 10 or whatever is quite the value add, not to mention the 3 hour betting show and the occasional tennis match. Would be cool if a streaming service added a bunch of classic games you could watch whenever but I imagine the MLB would allow that.
  3. Damn he'd be a great addition
  4. Just to confirm, does launching a streaming service mean that they will put the station from cable providers and only allow you to access the network via streaming or just streaming in addition to cable?
  5. I hate to bring race into this but when the Flores suit came out, it was widely believed Josh McCown was the frontrunner for the Texans job. There was previously a lot of heat on the Texans for firing Culley after one season, but it increased when it was a prominent example in the Flores lawsuit. Now McCown is apparently out of the running and their finalists are Flores and out of nowhere Lovie? I'm very happy if it means that the Texans make a minority hire, I'm just not going to praise the Texans for it.
  6. I think definitely Coby and PWill would have to go into the trade given that the Pacers are starting a gut rebuild and the Bulls are not rich on 1st rounders Maybe Coby, Williams, Troy Brown and the Blazers 1st for Sabonis and Justin Holiday? Holiday is probably better fit for this year's Bulls, though Brown is an expiring and Holiday is signed for another year. You could cut the Troy Brown/Holiday part off and the trade still works. Lonzo/Ayo DeRozan/Caruso Lavine/DJJ/Holiday Sabonis/Javonte Green/Cook Vucevic/Bradley Hill and Thomas are insactives I'm terrible at this stuff so this is probably laughable. The other question is fit. Sabonis interior defense is pretty poor for a big (opponents shooting almost 60% in the paint against him this year).
  7. Just looking at overall value Schroder is a clear better player. Not sure if he’s a better for the Bulls and what they need. He’s only under contract for this season too vs. Coby who can come back next year or be used in an offseason trade.
  8. Apparently the Bulls and Bucks have offers on the table for Schroder. Less substantiated rumor branching off of the legit rumor:
  9. Lotta mouth pieces defending this one. And maybe Hightower is a good coach , but this is probably the first big coach disappointment with the Bissaccia rumors. Not the least of which because it looks like he'll land in GB. Really interesting if Eberflus fills out his entire staff and doesn't get any former HC. Maybe Marinelli still in play for DL? No idea how good he is but I love hiring the guy whose unit almost single handedly eliminated the Packers from the playoffs if only for trolling reasons
  10. Especially with no LaVine and a player on the opponent going off.
  11. Anyone catch this article that’s made the rounds on Twitter today? https://dabearsblog.com/2022/how-good-is-david-montgomery It basically breaks down David Montgomery’s body of work, tries to remove variables like the quality of offense from the evaluation and comes to the conclusion that David Montgomery is a well below average RB at everything except breaking tackles. You don’t have to agree or anything but it’s worth reading.
  12. I'm stealing this right from a RealGMer's post: If I'm reading the graph correctly, basically Lonzo and Caruso are the 2 best defenders in the NBA by far this season. there might be value in slipping in the standings a bit, getting our guys back before the playoffs, and coming in underestimated especially if the early round opponents are the perceived contenders ala atlanta last year and miami in the bubble i don't want that to really happen because i'm kind of obsessed with this team right now but it wouldn't be the worst if we don't fall out of the top 6 Just looking at the teams in the top 6, I'm not even sure who I'd like to steer the Bulls towards. We are 3-7 against the other 5 teams and 8 of those 10 games were played before we started having massive injury issues. That's not to say that the Bulls can't beat those teams, just that there seems to be some bad matchup issues so its hard for me to favor one over the other.
  13. The players are going off on twitter right now. https://twitter.com/WContreras40/status/1489686365105184771
  14. It’s the first decent team we’ve played on the road since Caruso was hurt. I was encouraged actually that they stayed in it as the raptors just destroy us with size. I know this is not a popular thing to say but I think Ayo really hurt us down the stretch. Last couple possessions were rough for him, for sure, some bad turnovers at bad times. Defense continues to be an issue for the team, where the offense has to be clicking to win games. Green, Bradley and Ayo are really the only plus defenders they've got available right now, and until Ball and Caruso get back, they'll have to win games by out-offensing their poor team defense, which gets even harder to do if Zach and Coby are out extended periods. I'm stealing this right from a RealGMer's post: If I'm reading the graph correctly, basically Lonzo and Caruso are the 2 best defenders in the NBA by far this season.
  15. Considering their history long issues with offense it's kind of funny that of the 6 coaches hired so far, the Bears are the only one that has picked someone with a defensive background. I'm not saying it's the wrong pick or that the Bears haven't balanced that with what appears to be a pretty strong offensive staff, just a funny observation.
  16. I think LaVine's back spasms are going to be the next injury issue for the Bulls. He was definitely not 100% yesterday and played a ton of minutes. Yesterday was the first game in a 7 in 10 day stretch, including a 4 in 5. I'd guess he misses tonight and possibly 1-2 more games during this stretch. Bulls just can't catch a break as all these injuries have occurred during an impossible gauntlet of games (ironically caused by games that were postponed during their massive COVID outbreak). Currently in the middle of a stretch of 24 games in 41 days with not a single instance of multiple days off in a row. And they have played almost that entire stretch while missing 4+ rotation players.
  17. I’ve been banging the “be concerned about the play-in” drum for awhile but I think I feel better about the Bulls after this one. I fully expected a loss today. Zach’s back has him at way less than 100%, raptors size is a terrible matchup for us, bs, on the road, in the middle of our endless death March’s and we were one defensive rebound away from winning. This team may play down to bad teams but they usually play even with all but the very best teams too

  19. LaVine voted in as a reserve. We all expected it but its great to see announced
  20. He essentially has handed over the company to his son. Why he was even there is perplexing. They had to know the topic would come up and they had to know how Rocky felt about it. The kid is the CEO of the company, just let him handle it. Haha yeah I don't have a lot of confidence about how control Danny actually has over the franchise after seeing daddy shut him down multiple times from answering a question that anyone with common sense knew needed to be answered.
  21. Wanny will be on the Score today at 4pm. Sure that will be discussed lol
  22. Here are the models after Matchday 11: Interesting that the US odds of finishing top 3 did not change considering they got optimal results in 2 of the 3 relevant matches, but I guess the US beating Honduras at home and Mexico beating Panama at home were pretty likely events coming into the day and Costa Rica winning makes it a 5 teams race for top 3 instead of 4 teams. If the US manages to only get 1 point in the final window, they have a roughly 90% chance of at least making the playoff. 2 points and they move up to 99% chance of top 4 and 66% chance of top 3.
