im horsefeathering so sick of michigan basketball this year. I'm sure ill watch if they get in but....crushed me way too many times this year. The last 2 months have followed this exact script -Huge season saving victory -Fall flat on their faces in a loss. Last 10 games: WLWLWLWLWL. Blowing a 17 point lead with 13 mins left is just too much to handle emotionally lol I thought they had figured out their 2nd half issues over the last handful of games because they had about 7-8 second-half collapses earlier in the year. Hmm anyone know what might have changed for Michigan for a recent 5 game stretch that abruptly ended today? There has to be some variable I'm missing that wasn't present in the first 25 games of the season, then was present for exactly 5 games and then went missing again today. (sneakypower is going to torch me for this lol)

How so? I’m sick of every left handed hitter being a 3 True Outcomes hitter because they can’t beat the shift. People keep saying “well they should just adjust then” but i mean I think if they could they would have. Maybe when an entire generation of hitters has been developed to go the other way we can see some meaningful adjustment but even still, try going the other way on a 100mph inside fastball. Most sports have some rules about how offenses and defenses are aligned. Not sure the up roar about it. I’d be ok with a shift that requires the defense to be on the IF dirt. It’s just so unnatural to have an infielder camped out in short right field and unfairly neutralizes LHH who already have a disadvantage as most of their batted balls go toward the side of the field they are running towards

From my perception, it seems like the owners made a big leap forward this round. But when you really look at it, they gave almost 0 ground in previous negotiations so these proposals were really the first time they've given any real ground in the discussions and they are still not close to the midpoint between the player's proposal and owners. But people will only see the owners making strides and think the players are being greedy for continuing to hold out.

it would be pretty wild, no doubt. but also Pace's rating should still be tempered by his other moves and the fact he had such a high draft pick to begin with. its not like he picked Mitch in the 7th round Presumably it would still be a strike against him as there were 3 choices for him and he traded up to take the one that needed the right HC and environment to make him good and presumably he'd still be the worst of the 3 (off the field issues aside)

Rumors are the Giants want Mitch and assuming there is a real possibility of starting, I'm sure he'd want to play under Daboll again. I still don't think Mitch will be all that great as a starter, but I'm absolutely terrified at the possibility of that happening. If that happens I'm going to Lake Forest and trashing Nagy's $6m home that's on the market. You're terrified of Biscuit becoming a great starter with the Giants? Lol. I don't think that's going to happen. I'm just terrified at the possibility of it happening.

His whole schtick was that he was smarter than everyone and knew things about undervalued baseball players that none of us did. After Green finally gets traded to the Cardinals he plays one year there and then never played in the majors again (which I realize was partially due to mental health issues but still)

My guess is Mitch Trubisky himself Wentz is a tough QB to commit to, my feel is the Colts wanted out early especially after a collapse down the stretch. His injury history is pretty serious: a concussion (those are forever) against the Seahawks during the playoffs in 2019 was immediately followed with leading the league in INTs and a sub-60% competition rate for 2020, the knee in 2017 cost him alot of athleticism, and there's some back and foot stuff mixed in too. He came into the league as one of the better athletes at the position but that's long gone... I thought he started the season strong but kinda flattened out https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WentCa00/gamelog/2021/ But like...what is their backup option? Sure this allows them to try to find their QB of the future and clears his salary but I dunno he seemed acceptable enough to keep around until a better option appeared.

I'm confused about his season and the Colts desire to trade him. His numbers look solid, but I didn't watch him a ton. I know the whole team fell flat on their faces against Jacksonville but unless the Colts have an immediate better option not sure the rush to trade him.

I do not follow international signings very closely so this reply might be ignorant but aren't individual franchises running developmental academies in Latin America with hopes of gaining favor with those prospects when the signing period opens? Obviously, the spending restrictions don't allow you to horde up on players in your academy and sign them all but I would think an international draft gives teams less incentive to invest in these academies, thus is worse for developing players in these countries.

The fact that I won a round even though my most known quality at that point was "posting about basically every Notre Dame sports game" retroactively seems impossible. Wish I could find those polls. I think I made it to the Sweet 16 and lost to Raw. I had (have) so much respect for him that I was telling people to vote for him lol. Either way, I couldn't believe I won a couple of rounds - I felt very cool
