    Thought I'd check into the game thread. I can't watch the game, but are the fans seeking blood as much as you guys are making it seem

    Well, that would put them at 8 straight losses, which would only help the cause for firing Dusty. You could make a case that their past 2 wins were not very legitimate too. If the Cubs dont come back from 1 down in the ninth vs. Arizona, and Ryan Dempster doesnt snap out of it against Philly, the Cubs have lost 10 in a row

    I'm past the point of pain, the Cubs have been extremely entertaining for me the past week. I've laughed more then I do for most standup comics

    It's not even that which bothers me. I'm not even sure Selig is even on board for a strickter steroid policy. Look at the way he covered Palmerio for weeks as he used his steroid enhanced physique to get his 3,000th hit while the commish knew of his positive steroids test. Terrible example to set.

    I read an article (I forget where) where they called Hill "arguably minor leagues best prospect" not in the Cubs system, but in baseball. Obviously thats not true, but the fact that he was mentioned in that breath leads me to believe he was a hot commodity and pitching rich teams like the Reds would have dealt good players for him

    Yeah in his second AB, he hit the ball decently hard, but right at the LF. His other 3 ABs sucked terribly though

    you thought that last one was hit hard? It was a total bloop. Maybe not hit hard, but he was sitting on the pitch, they did good advanced scouting for this one.

    That's awesome. I hope that eases the burden of his grandfather dying. I hope the Reds win every game the rest of the year they don't play the Cubs.

    i can't see any network rigging a game show. highly illegal. See the movie Quiz Show. I think thats the name of it. It's about when a quiz show is rigged

    Maybe if we drop into 4th like the Orioles, the management will get a clue and fire the manager. Never gonna happen. The Trib's too damn cheap to eat a contract. The best we can hope for is that Baker gets busted with a trunk load of weed and tossed in jail. Didn't they eat Don Baylors? And for that matter Sammy Sosa's?

    I think they tried that last year. It backfired miserably. Which top free agents did they go out and sign??? Traded for Derrek Lee, traded for Michael Barrett, signed LaTroy Hawkins, signed Greg Maddux (Not to mention Kent Mercker). And when it still wasn't working correctly, they traded for Nomar. That's a huge upgrade for a team that was 5 outs from the WS the prior year.

We lost the last 2 vs. Cin We lost the first vs. Stl We won the second vs. Stl hanging onto dear life We won the third vs. Stl after coming back one down in the 8th and recovering from a blown save We won the first vs. SF with an 8th inning rally We lost the second vs. SF We won the third vs. SF with an 8th inning rally We lost the first vs. Ari We won the 2nd vs. Ari with a 9th inning rally We lost the last 2 vs. Ari We won the first vs. Philly hanging onto dear life We lost the last 2 vs. Philly

    We are a 9th inning come back and a lack of situational hitting by the Phillies in game 1 from another 7 game losing streak. Good job guys

    They have a guy with 550+ HR playing in RF for them. But I wouldn't get anyone from them anyway, I hear they are juicers
