    I'm calling it now. Prior pitches 4 innings, letting up 1 run and 3 K's. This has probably been mentioned, but nice!

    I am staying in Peoria about 1/2 mile from the park...there is scattered rain in the forecast and a bit cool. Bruce can probably give you a better weather report but there might be a chance for delays/cancelations for this one.

    5th place isnt that suprising if you are under the belief that the 2-5 teams in the division will be seperated by a handful of games as I do. I think the 2-5 teams will range between 84-77 wins.

    I'm off to the game in a few minutes. Bruce can you get me a press pass? ;). Wish I got the 'A' lineup today instead of the partial A lineup, but I'll be going to the game tomorrow too with Prior pitching so oh well.

    I don't get it. Why are Thome and Konerko hitting in the 9th while Jenks is closing the game in the 9th, when the Cubs had their rally using Jake Fox and Felix Pie before giving the tie Carmen Pignatiello. Who wants to win this game..

    We won't win that Cubs-Sox preseason trophy that they always talk about. (No I'm serious, apparently there is one) Fake edit: No wait, even if the Cubs split the season series 1-1, the Sox would win it by virtue of winning it last year (when they went 0-1-1)

    Ummmm, what? Hardly a peep? Nothing that I can recall accusing the Red Sox of lying about his return. Maybe I missed it. Yeah umm...living in New England at the time, it was a definitely a big deal and there was a lot of accusations on both the Red Sox and Nomars side about the legitimacy of information coming out surrounding the injury. Eventually, the blame got shifted to Nomar and he was booted out of town.

    If you want to hire him for his presence, convince him to retire and make him an assistant coach or something...

    Talk about blowing something out of proportion... Why? The article makes a solid point that the organization usually under reports these injuries. Until they prove otherwise, its not bad form to speculate the worst. It has never been proven that the Cubs under report any more than other organizations (they don't have to give the information at all). It's the Chicago media that has called them liars. Which is strange because in all the previous incidents, the athlete was coming out and saying he wasn't hurt as well... In either case, it's a huge jump from "day to day" to "Wood seems unlikely to be ready for Opening Day." Just because the athlete is going with the organization and lying about things doesn't mean the organization isn't lying as well. How else do you explain when Prior goes from "just being taken along slowly" to "oops, hes hurt, cya in July"? How about when Dusty says that Carlos Zambrano left the game because he was injured and then when Carlos is asked about it, he has no clue what the media is talking about? I have no proof that the Cubs lie/don't lie more then other organizations, but I do know they are one of the only organizations that gets heat for it, so that's gotta tell you something.

    I was at 6,000, then it randomly kicked me back to 98,000 for no reason so I gave up... I'll try again tomorrow.

    Ill be there starting Monday too. Which games are you going to? I'm going to 3/19 SS against the Brewers in Phoenix, 3/21 against the Rangers at Hohokam, and 3/23 against the A's I believe in Peoria. Btw, its supposed to be in the 70's/lower 80s next week.
