  1. So he's predicting the last game of the season against the Reds on September 30th is going to go 40 innings and end at 12:01 AM on Oct 1 It almost scares me how many confident promises Lou delivers. I mean you can't predict what can happen between now and October.
  2. You're right, the Cubs have given me lots of reasons not to overreact over the last 99 years...
  3. Yeah, definitely retired. Guy went from the peak of his career in 03-04 to retired 2 years later.
  4. i would mull rooting against them if that happened. Agreed. They would deserve to lose fans. I doubt it happens though. If Hill is clearly the better starting pitcher I think he will pitch and start. I think Miller would be the first to go over Marquis and others. His contract is manageable and can be easily released if necessary. Whats the date that we can start trading newly signed players? Isn't it like June 1? If he pitches well out of a long relief role, we'd at least be able to get a midlevel prospect for him.
  5. Sweet so I can plan for my vacation in October without having to worry about it interfering with the postseason. If Hill does not start the season in the rotation, I am going to seek out Lou Piniella and throw my shoe at him. What a stupid, idiotic organization if this is true. Stupid stupid stupid stupid. 99 years and counting
  6. That's interesting about the tie game after the 5th thing.
  7. OK this is too much Spring time optimism for me
  8. + Gooz Does Guzman really even have that potential anymore after all the injuries and whatnot? He did show some good stuff at times last year but overall I've kinda been considering him an afterthough in the Cubs rotational plans.
  9. If Z, Prior and Hill all pitch around their potential, then yes I'd say the rotation can be devistating
  10. Are you serious? Geez, goto hell you clueless organization
  11. Bears franchised Briggs... http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=3079
  12. More Cubs Pics: Soriano and Lou http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070216/capt.azmg20102161946.cubs_spring_baseball_azmg201.jpg Batting Practice for Soriano: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070216/capt.azmg20202161948.cubs_spring_baseball_azmg202.jpg Lou teaching fundamentals?: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070216/capt.azmg20302161955.cubs_spring_baseball_azmg203.jpg Looks like Howry and Blanco are the only ones I recognize The fans have arrived: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070216/capt.azmg20402161957.cubs_spring_baseball_azmg204.jpg The caption says this is Pagan, Soriano and Pie: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070216/capt.azmg20502162003.cubs_spring_baseball_azmg205.jpg
  13. Is Keith going to be working at Burger King now? (inside Red Sox joke)
  14. Yep, there's no longer a value to Soriano for having the ability to play 2nd. Fantasy baseball owners disagree with you
  15. Can they send Miller to AAA if he doesn't accept a demotion?
  16. *He posted a 6.02 ERA last year and was left off the St. Louis Cardinals playoff roster in 2006. *He received a 3 year/$21 million contract from the Chicago Cubs that same offseason.
  17. Great Soriano looks ready to play the OF in that last picture...
  18. closer to a thousand, usually. Last year I was ~750 away and I was done at 9:40 If your wristband's been cut and put back on, they'll kick you out of line. If you don't have a credit card with your name on it, they'll kick you out of line. Even if you are paying with cash? I don't remember them checking my credit card, but I could be mistaken.
  19. The Cubs would have to be absolutely idiotic to do something like that. Which is why they probably will....
  20. He would have to physically be there, and any credit card that he uses to buy tickets must be in his name. This is to keep scalpers from buying their way into the line (or so they say).
  21. Posted this in the Kerry Wood injury thread, but it might be worth its own thread. More about Prior and Miller: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070215&content_id=1803050&vkey=spt2007news&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc&partnered=rss_chc

  23. MORE!!!!! (Soriano Love I guess) http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20070215/i/r1551153568.jpg http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20070215/i/r260051511.jpg
  24. Is that a lot? I'm assuming no by the way you phrased it. How many wristbands are usually handed out? Any idea? They usually give out around 20,000 I think. If you're not within like 1,500 of the number thats called, then you're best bet is to probably go online and try to get tickets. I was within 600 before the 2005 season and I when I went to the window, all games were available except the Saturday Red Sox game.
