  1. Are you kidding me? Briggs was a beast last year. How many forced fumbles did he have? He was devistating to any RB that tried to run to his side of the ball. He also had 2 INTs, and 8 passes defended. But his value to the team goes beyond stats and even big plays (which he had more then 1 last year).
  2. Thanks Desipio :)
  3. Did you read the artice? Don't know what to make of that. Could just be negotiating tough talk. I see his point if the Bears refuse to discuss a longterm contract. And I'm a bit upset with the Bears if they truly are refusing to discuss longterm deals. However, the Bears have to do what is best for them, and franchising Briggs is clearly what's best. Rescinding it is not an option. If Briggs wants the Bears to trade him, it is probably up to him and his agent to find a deal. It doesn't really do the Bears much good to go out looking for a trade. Given how inactive they look to be this free agent period, I'm for signing him longterm, and hopefully, that's exactly what they end up doing. I still also think its a negotiating tactic. How many times did Scottie Pippen say something like that and end up playing for the Bulls time and time again.
  4. Not really a nickname, but when Murton hits a HR, I refer to it as a Murt Hurt. Also, in 2004, I unsuccessfully tried to coin Digli as a DLee nickname, which is a take off of the terrible movie Gigli (pronounced Gee-Lee). Also, taking off an old joke, Ronny Cedeno could be renamed Rnny Ceen. Jacque Jones is Jock or Jocktacular or Jockorific. (mostly not a term of endearment though) When ARam is doing bad (especially on offense and defense at the same time), I like to refer to him as ErrorMiss Ramirez. Sorry all of my suggestions are negative...
  5. Did you read the artice? Sorry, I meant in the past he didn't ask to leave.
  6. ^ How do we know what's going on behind the scenes. We knew he'd be pissed when we franchised him. He never in the past said he was going to leave the Bears, he just said he wanted to shop around and get full market value, which is certainly fair after the Bears couldn't extend him last year. He played his butt off, became a huge name, started a second consecutive Pro Bowl, and now he gets franchised and is going to lose millions. I dunno, I'm just playing devils advocate though
  7. I dunno why, it reminded me of this: http://www.videogametimes.com/images/bunchies_1.jpg
  8. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/gV3vdeZu.jpg Awesome face to go along with awesome name (Rocky Cherry)
  9. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/03/02/yaTYzEkb.jpg He looks like hes on a roller coaster going straight down.
  10. Looks like Sosa went 1-3 today with a single in today's game. No idea how many K's he had.
  11. Michigan just choked away their NCAA chances against Ohio State with 2 stupid turnovers and a tipped rebound right into the hands of an OSU player that lead to an 8-0 run. Michigan had a 6 point lead with 3:30 left..
  12. Is it just me or did this thread go from Baseball Discussions to Social and back to Baseball Discussions
  13. If he used steroids, they didn't work well for us..
  14. This reminds me of when Red Sox fans were accusing Ramero Mendoza of coming over from the Yankees to sabotage the Red Sox by sucking. That is totally what Cotts is doing. I hope Aardsma is doing the same for the Cubs.
  15. Classy move Michael! Good to see that Gino's East endorsement money going to good use!
  16. Izzy at the 2 is waaaay too much of a Dusty move....I don't like this one bit.
  17. I've done something similar to that before as well.
  18. I agree completely. Plus with the low OBP/high power on the team, the offense could very well resemble the feast or famine offenses of 2004-2005
  19. Another hit off Marquis (yes hes the Jock of 2007)
  20. 8 players for the Giants were sent home with the flu. Get them away from Prior!
  21. AHHH LOU SAYS THIS COULD BE 'DARN CLOSE' TO OUR REGULAR LINEUP But then he said "We got Murton in the 2 hole, that could change" Blah
  22. I know, its funny to see. Especially because I don't anywhere close to the optimism that people on this board have. I am trying so hard not to fall into the Spring time giddyness that happens every year because I don't want to be hurt again.
