  1. A PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20070215/i/r3322214821.jpg
  2. 2/13 - Z makes a comment about leaving if the Cubs don't give him Barry Zito money by the end of Spring Training. Everyone here freaks out, a lot of people call for his head. 2/15 - Z clarifies, is offered a 5 year deal for similar to Zito money. Says even if they don't sign him by the end of spring, the Cubs have first shot at resigning him. Also, 24 hours into camp, Prior and Wood are still healthy. Hope this helps
  3. Woo hoo! Now take it "Big Z"
  4. My biggest qualm about this decision is the fact that I feel like I've been duped. I was at Cubs Convention when they announced the home plate signage. They assured us that it would be tasteful, and that this is only one small change and that Wrigley would not be tarnished with ads like other ballparks. The last year, the same stuff about Bud Light Bleachers. Now this. They know they can't litter the park with ads all at once so they are slowly implementing them hoping that most fans don't notice the gradual change..
  5. Remember when Wrigley was advertised as 'baseball pure and simple'? Now you spend $40 to enter the Bud Light bleachers, pass by the batter's eye club/restaurant, and heckle the RF who is standing next to a giant Under Armor advertisement. Great job guys.
  6. http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070214/capt.azpc10402142138.cubs_spring_baseball_azpc104.jpg Another one, little bit better for Lou
  7. Not exactly what you all wanted, but here are 2 pictures from this mornings press conference. Lou: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070214/capt.azpc10102142123.cubs_spring_baseball_azpc101.jpg Jimbo: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070214/capt.azpc10202142121.cubs_spring_baseball_azpc102.jpg
  8. That's good to know. I'd rather have Jones back in there. Our OF looks like the best we've had since 2004, maybe not defensively but offensively at least. Actually this might be the worst OF in ML history
  9. Kidds not going to play in the ASG, but Joe Johnson was selected to replace him and not Gordon.
  10. I just wanted to also add that Pronk can WILL the Indians to the Central title, and will.
  11. 6/12 vs. Seattle, just for nostalgia's sake
  12. Uhh...great observation Hanley. it was sullivan. My bad, but my point stands. I'm sure you can tell how healthy his arm is by the way he runs.
  13. How did the White Sox get better this offseason? Gained (ready to contribute): Erstad (platoon OF) Hall (backup catcher) Sisco (hit or miss) Aardsma (also hit or miss) G. Floyd (Probably good this year) Lost: Riske Cotts Garcia Gload McCarthy Plus you'd expect regression from AJP, Dye and potentially Thome. They might get a boost in performance from Buerhle and Contrares. I see a 87-90 win team there, but in a competitive Central, who knows.
  14. Uhh...great observation Hanley.
  15. Eh, if it sucks, I'll quit.
  16. Wow even though I have a full time M-F job, I might check that out just for fun. You never know what you'd find.
  17. TODAYS THE DAY! Time to post pictures as they arrive
  18. Probably going to get the same production, minus the hot wife.
  19. No, I don't think thats an even trade for the Twins.
  20. I'm sure this was mentioned in this thread, but I am sure Z knows how much stress has been put on his arm the last three years. And then you think about the Cubs history of injured pitchers, and it suddenly makes sense to me why Z wants to be locked up as soon as possible.
  21. I would trade Veal, Gallager, Hill and Pie for Santana, and I'm not 100% sure they'd take it
  22. I love Z to death, but referring to yourself in the 3rd person? Who the heck do you think you are? Don't turn into Albert Pujols and turn into a huge prima donna.
  23. Well: Willis for Clement and 6 fingers. Big winner: Marlins Lee for Choi. Big winner: Cubs Renting Pierre for Nolasco, Mitre, Pinto. Winner: Marlins Time to even up the score?
  24. Very dumb to trade him. With #4 starters getting like $10 million a year in the open market, why would we trade an ace with seemingly unlimited potential?
  25. Oh come on. It's not like Lou Brock was THAT great
