  1. I know what you mean man. It pisses me off because the 86 Cubs, although they lost around 90 games, was a team of finishers too. An awful team if I've ever seen one but if they just found a way to get the MLB to let them play in the playoffs, I know they would have finished as champs. That's just the way they were.
  2. He's having a rough year, but John Danks absolutely isn't a mediocre pitcher. He's a good pitcher with really good stuff, but has been very inconsistent this year. Correct me if I'm wrong but his problems start when he has control issues. The cubs have severely regressed their plate discipline this year so it makes sense he's doing so well today.
  3. The three hitters that failed there were on the 97 win Cubs last year in roughly the same roles.
  4. it's pretty sweet. I don't even expect to score when we get a runner on 3rd and 0 outs like fans of the other 29 teams do.
  5. cubs offense does what the cubs offense does....not score.
  6. the ball looks like it's carrying out of the park today. Alexis homer would be a flyout 90% of the time at Wrigley. Also I can't stand this ump and his slow strike call.
  7. I'd get that if there was no blackout restrictions. Kinda defeats the purpose of watching the game while I'm on the go..
  8. I doubt it. If that were the case I don't think they would have said something like non-baseball related medical issue, which might concern some people. I think they'd say something harmless like tired arm. Maybe he caught the anxiety bug that's been going around baseball this year.
  9. What's better is that our winning streak has lasted 3 days now.
  10. Plaxico is still a top 10-15 WR, who has clearly demonstrated that he can carry an offense and make big plays. I'm trying to find 10 WRs better than Plax... Fitzgerald Andre Johnson Marshall Calvin Johnson Moss Wayne Steve Smith Jennings And then I'd probably put Plax with WRs like TO, Boldin, Roddy White, Welker, etc. But he quite definitely gives us that tall leaping WR with big play ability that Cutler sorely needs as a target. Combine him with a pure speed deep ball threat in Hester, a possession receiver in Bennett (hopefully) or Davis, and 2 pass catching TEs in Olsen and to a lesser extent Clark, and you have quite a versatile group of WRs for Cutler to throw to. All we need is that big time receiver. With him we look pretty solid at WR, without him we look awful.
  11. can anyone post any report they hear regarding start time. I am waiting to leave for park until I hear something
  12. It's starting to pour in Wrigleyville....
  13. Screw you Sammy, but obviously not surprised
  14. Fielder grand slam. Brewers winning
  15. I have to believe they are talking about not playing games during that period of time. With many teams already taking 4 days off for the ASB, it would not be hard for them to take 6 days. But not televising games that are actually played seems like a horrible option. Great. We'll end up with a World Series ending the same week as Thanksgiving. It's better than watching the Lions get creamed again.

But not televising games that are actually played seems like a horrible option. I got the impression from reading that, that they would play games during that time period, but they would only schedule games when there are no Olympic Games going on. For example, if the games are in Chicago and there is a group of games at 1PM and 4 PM, then all the days MLB games would start at like 7PM or later. But then again, if they are using MLB players in the Olympics, then I can definitely see the need to shut down the league for a week.
  17. Lets trade for Marshall and then sign Plax, just for fun.
  18. Got the Bulls and Bears plus Michigan football in 97. Umm and if for some reason I am like Derwood and count NIT titles then Ive seen Michigan hoops win a couple, although I derived 10 times more pleasure watching Michigan make a run to the round of 32 this year than I did watching both of those. This decade has been very barren. Zero titles, one championship appearence (Bears), 6 playoff round victories (2 for Bears, 2 for Hawks and 1 each for Cubs and Bulls), 1 NCAA Tournament victory, and 1 BCS Bowl victory.
  19. so much for that whole leading at halftime stat.
  20. Is it just me or is Spector having a really nice game besides the I'll advised kick off that last free kick?
  21. Why are people shocked that the article talks about Wrigley in a negative light. The segment is called "Why Your Stadium Sucks"
  22. Has there been a nono since Z's last year or am I missing one?
  23. Bring on the White Sox, who have to feel pretty confident after taking 2/3 in Milwaukee.
  24. If St. Louis wins, we'll end the day 3 games out, but yeah.
  25. Finally a clutch hit! I'll take it.
