  1. I had no idea that he had 4 other concussions in his career. How many did Steve Young have until he was basically mentally unable to play anymore? Most concussions go unreported. I don't think it's all that noteworthy that there are newspaper articles referring to previous ones. My fear for Cutler's future as the Bears quarterback lies on the weakness of the offensive line, not his history of concussions. Yeah but you can't keep suffering concussions and expect to be fine after some rest. Eventually it effects you mentally. I'm not saying I'm worried about Cutler now, I'm just worried that he's already had 5 reported and who knows how many unreported. With the Bears O-line he could potentially have another this year.
  2. It's very interesting. On the Schaub part of the trade, you are buying low on Schaub (whose been slightly disapointing this year) and Gore (big disapointment). Jackson is probably trading for his value at this point (2 great weeks w/ Vick followed by 2 bad weeks with Kolb). And Pittsburgh D you are buying high mostly. On the other end you have Rivers who is playing like a top 3 QB in fantasy so far. Buying high or is he being valued correctly? Moss is a slight unknown with big upside. By unknown I mean, he's gonna be good but how good. McFadden is maybe buying high (definitely buying high before week 5). He's got great numbers the first 3 weeks, but only 12 carries last game with the coach reinterating Bush is the starter for them. Tampa's D i don't know about. Definitely been good and opportunistic. But they are so young. I'm guessing you trying for the Schaub side of the trade. It's definitely interesting because if Schaub and Gore play up to par, they could easily win the trade for you. I trust Jackson to be a solid #2 fantasy WR all year. And you get an elite D. At first I veered towards the Rivers side, and mostly because I don't like Gore this year at all. But I think put a gun to my head I take the Schaub side.
  3. Does this scare the crap out of anyone else besides me? I had no idea that he had 4 other concussions in his career. How many did Steve Young have until he was basically mentally unable to play anymore?
  4. Scott has been beyond awful, Boynton is ok as a 6th/7th defensemen i guess. Hendry is not even good enough to be that. All 3 leaving Chicago would make my life more peaceful.
  5. Exactly....we were down 2 defeners tonight, which was the most intact area of our team from last year. I have no doubt we can recover from this slow start and play much better. It's gonna take time though.
  6. I don't think theyve come close to playing their best yet. Their new players havent really played badly. I am not seeing enough out of the star players. our star players got us the goals tonight. It's not just goals, and it doesn't apply to every player.

  8. Man, they were starting a goalie making his first ever appearance, playing their first game coming back from Europe and they beat us. We've already lost 25% of the home games that we lost last year (8)
  9. We lose. 1-2-1 and 0-2-0 at home Thanks Boynton.
  10. [expletive] hell Boynton. Great job taking a careless penalty with 2 minutes left in a tie game. Gonna be a fight to get at least 1 point now.
  11. I really hate playing the Predators. I can barely watch the game. All the action is clogged up in the neutral zone. Neither team can really establish themselves in the others side of the ice. I just hate it.
  12. why do you say that? They split the season series Cubs took the season series over the Dodgers 5-2 in 2008. Doesn't mean anything in the playoffs. I think the Yankees should win fairly easily. Trying to decide who to root for... Yankees Pros: Kerry Wood Cons: They are the Yankees dammit Rangers Pros: Enjoyed watching them all year, underdog team, never won anything before this year, Ian Kinsler Cons: Another team making the World Series before the Cubs would slightly increase our futility. It would leave Seattle and Washington as the only 2 teams to never make a World Seires (meaning only 2 teams that have a worse "making world series track record" than us, even though neither has been around since 1945. Seattle 1977 and Washington 1969). This is a tough call.
  13. That was reported a couple of days ago and has since been strongly denied by Boozer.
  14. Well Jay and Caleb have both been injured enough to miss games already this season, and we've had a game where we needed our 3rd QB. Seems like a 3rd QB is probably the smart idea. Yeah fine. It just doesn't have to be a QB that's brought in to play over Hanie.
  15. I agree on the good start. I do want to see us improve on SOG allowed per game though. I think we lead the league with ~25 SOG per game last year. This year in admittedly low sample size we've averaged 34 per game. This involves a lot of assumptions, but since Turco and Niemi had the same save% last year, we're looking at a 60 goal increase this year, or about 0.7 goals a game. I realize Huet played almost half the season at a lesser save%, but whatever, you get the picture.
  16. Or we can just go with Hanie. We had to have kept him on the roster for the last 3 seasons for a reason. I don't see the need to freak out for a veteran QB to avoid playing Hanie without at least giving him at least 1 shot.
  17. Ps not that it will likely matter but the jets CB should have just fallen on the field and the game would be over already.
  18. Hahahahaha you lose Favre!
  19. Based on what I've heard, it's very doubtful that the cameras would be able to see what it says.
  20. It's the same ridiculous dancing across the field every TD. No other QB in the history of the NFL celebrates their TDs even half as emphatically as him. Just annoys the hell out of me. And sure he's allowed to celebrate his 500th TD. But his 500th TD celebration looked no different than his 274th or his 119th.
  21. 18 [expletive] years of this. Every Sunday that douchebag has to appear all over my TV. Not a single week without him. And you wonder why Deadspin worked so hard to bring him down.
  22. What an over the top graphic to 'celebrate' his 500th TD pass. I hate that over the top douchebag. He's celebrated all 500 TD passes the same way - with an over the top celebrating and an announcer commenting on how much fun he is having. Seriously is it necessary to jump into the arms of your WR after you throw a TD pass to put your team down by 5?
  23. Any guesses on how Hammer will be punished? The postgame show on WGN seemed to think he is due for a multiple game suspension.
  24. Very possible. He's done it before. Hawks first win in Buffalo since 2001.
  25. The NFL hates Rodgers for not being Brett Favre. It's going to be awesome watching Flynn play QB next week (although I hope they do. I'd rather Rodgers sit out if he has a concussion.) Lol this MIGHT be the first time in 18 years that you have to start a game with a backup qb and packers fans are acting like the universe is conspiring against them. Not necessarily you but I've heard from a lot of Packers fans today.
