So here's the setup. I've completely ignored the offensive line for my entire 7 year tenure in Chicago. I've used like 3 picks in the top 4 rounds on offensive lineman my entire time here, and the only 1st round pick I've used on one looks like a terrific bust. Also, here is your offensive coordinator Mike Martz. He is well known for utilizing 5 and 7 step drops to throw down the field. Because of this, his QBs get sacked quite a lot. So we're asking you to make something of this line. And if you don't within the first 6 games we're gonna fire you because it will be completely your fault.

But they had a really bad day against a disturbingly mediocre offense that sucks on the road and has for multiple years and they have been a bad defense for 4 years now. Seattles defense gave up 307 yards on 59 plays....5.20 yards per play. If the Bears gave up 4.9 yards per play thoughout the season, do you know where that would rank in the league? Tied for 9th in the NFL with Philly and Miami. That's a bad day? The defense is fine when they don't have to be on the field for 71 plays in a game.

Sorry I forgot to add. We have scored just 64 points in 6 games off drives that start on our own side of the field. Our defense and special teams have set us up with 48 points this year.

This offense is just bad. It hasn't even really been remotely productive this year. Here is every offensive score this year. That's bad. The most glaring thing is extended scoring drives. We've had 1 scoring drive of more than 7 plays all year. We'd had 14 of 23 scoring drives that were 5 plays or less. We are a quick strike offense. That's all we are though.

Football is not played based on good drives vs bad drives. If you have multiple bad drives you aren't doing your job. If you let the offense get out of a deep hole it's on you. If your offense scores on the first drive and you give it right back it's on you. The defense is supposed to be good. It has not been good. That is bad. What would you consider an average offensive performance? The other team is trying too. A defense shouldnt be relied on to hold every single drive, especially when they are on the field for 2/3rds of the game. They allowed 3 scoring drives. If they held all 3 of those drives to FGs, you might say they had an above average day. But they didn't. They had an avergae day. They allowed 3 scoring drives, but they also allowed 7 different drives to go 3-4 plays and out. They didn't play great, but they didn't play horrible either. They played average. Against a very bad road team in Chicago. That is bad. Quit making excuses for a [expletive] unit. How do you know they are so bad? Because of 2 games? 2 games with like 40 new players on the roster. 2 games without Lynch. I've argued with you enough to know you can keep doing this for months without providing any sort of proof and without conceding even the littlest point so I'm gonna halt on discussing this anymore.

What the hell is uniformly bad have to do with anything? You dont' win games by having a few defensive stands. The defense has been bad. They'd made a handful of plays, but they've been terrible overall. The offense has been abysmal, but the defense was bad before the offense had a time to hurt them. Because having a good stretch of defensive play is better than having no good stretch of defensive play. This isn't rocket surgery. The defense has been pretty good this year, overall, btw. Just look at the stats. High in yardage allowed, high in yards per play allowed, at the top in takeaways, etc. Not great at stopping 3rd downs of course. That's a really dumb post. A couple good stretches doesn't mean you didn't have a bad day. This is a dumb response. You seem to think either a defense can be great or it can be awful with no in between. But there is. The D has had some bad drives but they've had more good ones. Overall, they've given up 3 scoring drives. That's an average performance, and possibly slightly above considering they had to be on the field for 13 more plays than the opposing defense has. The defense did nothing to lose them the game. They didn't play a great game, but our offense should be able to score more than 21 points most weeks.

Hester has done an absolutely miserable job as the punt returner today. Like to the point where he needs to be taken off punt returns for the rest of the game because he's absolutely killing the team.
