  1. If they have plenty of arms in the pen why did they bring in a starter on 1 day rest to get outs for them. I just thought it was an odd move that's all.
  2. Geez I don't know about Lincecum on one days rest coming in. This means he probabaly won't be available for Game 7. I realize the starter only lasted 2 IP tonight, but seems like a bit of a panic move. Oh and the Giants are 5 outs away from the world series. The collapse should start now if the Cubs paralells are to come to fruition.
  3. And the Hawks lose another game at home. 5-5 after the first 10 games of the season. Maybe we should consider that good considering the injuries and suspensions of the first 5 games. 38 SOG tonight for Columbus, absolutely unacceptable. The Hawks are not going to be very good if our defense isn't limiting SOG because our goaltending is not good enough.
  4. Yeah that's kinda unacceptable. It looked like it was gonna be a blowout in the 1st period, now we're on track for 0 points out of 4 this weekend.
  5. If you are a wisconsin fan here do you want them to conclude its a TD, or 1st and goal from the 1 inch line with 1:15 left?
  6. The good news is, neither of them look to be in a position to make the world series anytime soon. The bad news is, neither do we. Also, the Rangers didn't seem to be in that position entering this season.
  7. http://m.deadspin.com/5671226/this-is-what-should-happen-whenever-you-play-a-sports-video-game LOL makes me miss Burish.
  8. well said, lebron. well said. You forgot to include the part where he told the Cleveland fans to 'get over it'.
  9. Yep, the last two. He did a pretty good job in those two games too. Yeah, he really did. Did his name get on the puck? I know Hendry's didn't due to the strict rules they have. Which seems silly. what puck? 1) LOL 2) I think you are talking about Bickell. Hendry played in the SCF, meaning he is on the Cup. Hendry is actually who Boynton replaced in the last 2 games
  10. I don't know why, but I took a stroll around the web right now to see what the media thinks of the Skins Bears game this weekend. -Peter King picks Redskins 20, Bears 17 -4 of the 7 ESPN guys pick the Skins, as well as the "pickskin pick em" fans. Accuscore has the Bears winning. I'll take the computer's judgement. -On Yahoo, it's a clean sweep for Washington, as all 3 of their writers, as well as 54% of Yahoo users, pick the Bears to lose their 2nd consecutive home game. -On CBSsports.com, 3 of the 5 guys pick the Skins, Pete Prisco is not one of them as he takes the Bears. When betting ATS (given as Chicago -3.5), Prisco stays with the Bears, and everyone else sides with the Hogs. Prisco BTW, predicts a 28-17 Bears beatdown. That's all I got.
  11. I disagree. Last weeks Vikings-Cowboys game was as close to must win as you could get in October for both teams. This week if the Bears lose, worst case scenario, they are tied for the division lead and have half the tiebreaker against the team they are tied with. But I agree with your sentiments that this is an important game.
  12. lol lol @ the irony in erik posting that statement, the irony of someone saying that politics are more worthy of getting worked up about than sprots, or both?
  13. On a local scale like 7th or 8th grade. And yeah nationally freshman year of high school. That's exactly the gist I get from LeBron. Everyone said that LeBron was like a big kid when off the court. It doesn't surprise me that his actions are sometimes immature.
  14. Well its just like last year. Pretty much after the debacle in Cincinnati everyone pretty much knew things were toast. With all the injuries we had on defense and the inconsistent offense, any good team we placed was going to have their way with us. We started 3-1, lost a close game to Atlanta that actually made me feel good about them and then got embarrassed 45-10 by Cincinnati. I think people kind of sensed what was happening. And before we knew it we had lost 8 of 10 games. This year I feel slightly better than we did last year mostly because the defense will keep us in games, whereas last year any good offense we played I expected them to roll over us every single time they had the ball.
  15. Agreed. Either he has the worst self awareness of anyone on the planet, or he's just in public denial. He made several comments immediate after "The Decision" when he heard that fans were burning his jerseys and turning on him. The comments were always like "my true fans in Cleveland will still support me". I couldn't believe at the time that they really believed that there were true "LeBron James" fans in Cleveland that weren't that way because he played for the hometown team. I'm sure there are some but yeah 99% of Cleveland has completely turned their back on him. Even worse, he seems to think all these negative fans are just "haters" like every NBA star has, and it has nothing to do with what happened this summer. He seriously gets offended about hateful tweets. I don't condone those hateful tweets, and the message of some of them, but he cannot be surprised. Tell me he's not surprised that people are telling him to die and calling him racist names. Please just tell me that so I can go back to believing that no one is that naive .
  16. Not sure because he was on the ice when Kanes cup winning goal happened. He only played in 2 SCF games though I believe.
  17. I have a feeling that one of these teams is gonna blow their 3-1 lead. Obviously it's easier to predict the Yankees because they are 1/3 of the way there but I'm not sure. A Rangers/Giants World Series would be bizarre though. That was easily the least likely matchup when the playoffs started.
  18. Not as bad as Luongo. Very true but Turco looked out of position on all 3. I'll take it though. I love owning Vancouver!
  19. Turco looks awful at shootouts.
  20. Technically Mark DeRosa is on the Giants right? He's been out since like May which was like his 2nd month with the team. Has anyone seen him in the dugout during the playoffs or is he not with the team?
  21. Chris Harris also missed practice. As did Briggs and Urlacher. Did anyone on the d practice?
  22. Somebody call a WHAMBULENCE for LeBron James.
  23. Oh yeah, he also plays for the Sharks. Yeah this is the big one for me. Yeah, the other stuff just makes it a little easier. But I'm definitely rooting for Atlanta in the east, because of Buff and Ladd. Anybody else find it odd that the Blackhawks and Penguins have played 7 games already and there are 8 teams who have only played 4 games? It's not just a matter of the European trips either. And it's not about to be reconsiled quickly as Chicago plays 3 times in th next 4 days while Pittsburgh plays twice. My guess would be because we aren't traveling as much with a heavy home schedule in October so there are less off days, whereas in November the Hawks are traveling the majority of the month because of the circus trip.
  24. I'm more annoyed that the Rangers might clinch their first trip to the World Series while I'm sitting at work. I think it's really dumb to have weekend afternoon LCS games. Day playoff games don't feel like playoff games. I think that's why I took Josh Beckett shutting us down in 2003 game 5 so well. It didn't feel like it was a game to get us into the World Series.
  25. Darn if the MLB scheduled their playoff games like the NBA does, he could be back for the last half of the World Series. Too bad.
