  1. Wide open
  2. Hanie's first possession....3 and out.
  3. Well after all that excitement yesterday, its looking like the BCS won't have Michigan in the top 14 this week. Michigan is 16 in the coaches poll just released. I guess they still have a shot but I think UM has to root for MSU to win the Big Ten Championship so that Wisconsin goes below UM. Edit: This is what I just read:
  4. Things are really starting to derail for Detroit. It's like they finally remembered they're the Lions. I saw on the Fox pregame show that the Lions basically confronted on Friday Suh and gave him hell for his BS. Later that day he made the public apology. Also, supposedly lots of players on other teams called into the league office to complain that Suh deserves to be suspended.
  5. I think this is what your asking. This is each recent WS winner's highest paid player signed via FA. I counted players that were traded for and then resigned as unrestricted FAs, but not ones that were traded for and signed extensions before their contracts were up. 2011: Matt Holliday $17,000,000 2010: Barry Zito $18,500,000 2009: Alex Rodriguez $33,000,000 2008: Adam Eaton $7,958,333 2007: Manny Ramirez $17,016,381 2006: Jason Isringhausen $8,750,000 2005: Jermaine Dye $4,000,000 2004: Manny Ramirez $22,500,000 2003: Ivan Rodgiruez $10,000,000 2002: Aaron Sele $7,166,667 2001: Randy Johnson $13,350,000 2000: David Cone $12,000,000 1999: David Cone $9,500,000 1998: David Cone $6,666,667 1997: Alex Fernandez $7,000,000 1996: Kenny Rodgers $5,000,000 1995: Greg Maddux $6,500,000
  6. Front page picture on ESPN.com: Brady, Tebow, Rivers....and Hanie
  7. I do wonder if the Bears would consider surprising everyone and come out throwing the ball heavily. I'm sure the Raiders are game planning expecting to have a very conservative offense relying on Forte to make plays. We've seen Hanie has the arm strength to make plays. If Oakland starts putting 7+ in the box to stop the run, we could really throw them for a loop by passing it down the field.
  8. Phew, that ending was heart stopping. Wow, an ugly road trip to say the least, but we ended up 3-3. I'll take it!
  9. I don't understand why you'd pull the goalie for an extra attacker when one of your guys acts like a defacto goalies plays almost near center ice.
  10. Once you hit 6 wins so early, what else is there to play for? Seeing as they were at 6 wins while undefeated, maybe the NC game? (i know you were being sarcastic)
  11. This broadcast is impossible to watch. [expletive] fix this [expletive] WGN come on.
  12. The Hawks literally turned it over 4 straight times in their own end without leaving the zone....lo and behold they score a goal. How do you turn the puck over 4 times in your zone on the same damn shift?
  13. Ouch Gonna hurt the Bulls in the short and long term.
  14. I think Illinois would be in before Northwestern and maybe Purdue. I don't know about that. How many Illini fans do you think are going to be excited enough to travel down to somewhere like El Paso to see a team with a lame duck coach and a 6 game losing streak? I don't think the bowl selection committees will want to pick a team like that. Northwestern has its own issues drawing fans, but at least their fans have some excitement for their team and will tune in to see NW break a 60 year bowl drought. Seems to be what the Big Ten blog's writer thinks too:
  15. Is their any doubt that if there isn't an extra Big Ten bowl spot available, Illinois is the odd man out among the 6-6 teams (Ohio St., Northwestern, Purdue and Illinois)?
  16. bffs For the record I enjoy your posting during games.
  17. That's actually a really go comparison. I wish I thought of that. Obviously Hanie has more experience being on an NFL roster for the last few years.
  18. Makes up for our gaffes. I'll take it
  19. Now that the game is over, I'm glad we had to earn it. It was frustrating at times and I'm a bit worried about the D for the bowl game but hell yeah I'm satisfied. Thank God for Hoke!
  20. Thank the lord. It's over!!!!!!! BCS!!
  21. Another one in short of winning the game.
  22. If we lose the story is going to be "one inch short" from ending the streak.
  23. Great. Now I'm gonna have to sweat it out. Unreal.
  24. Really disappointed with Michigans defense. This is a matchup they should have dominated. I can't believe they scored that quickly.
  25. Awesome that's 2 fumbles lost in Michigan territory leading to 10 points. Meanwhile OSU has yet to commit a turnover. Limit our mistakes all year so that it can all come undone in the most important game of the year.
