  1. thank you, but lets face it, it wasnt hard to do. They guy came out talking about not being a "game manager" and wanting to throw the ball. It was his first game this season under a really complex offensive scheme, he was bound to have a rough game. Right. I understand him saying he's not a game manager. No one wants to be called a game manager. It's an insult. At the end of the day its Martz that called 40 passing plays for Hanie (36 passes, 5 Hanie runs, only 1 of them was a sneak on 4th down and designed for Hanie to run), and 22 runs. Obviously the Bears were trailing all game, so you would expect more throws, but the Bears trailed by one score the entire game until their TD, so there wasn't a necessity to throw the ball until late in the 4th. I was the one before that suggested we surprise them by coming out throwing, and it looks like that's what happened. But at some point I expected them to go run heavy unless Hanie was having a ton of success throwing the ball. There were spurts of run calls but overall Hanie was expected to move the ball down the field. Matt Forte is our best offensive player by a large margin and should be the centerpiece of our offense with Jay out.
  2. I wanted to see a tie, but SD continuing their death spiral was the next best outcome for me.
  3. Alright, I'm just gonna go ahead and assume the Giants lose in NO tomorrow. Here are the standings after this week: 5. Chicago 7-4 (wins H2H tiebreak over ATL, wins common games tiebreaker over DET) 6. Atlanta 7-4 (wins H2H tiebreak over DET) ----------------------------- 7. Detroit 7-4 8. NY Giants 6-5 The Giants play GB next week too. If they go to 6-6, we can forget about them for a little bit. If that is the case, we are looking at 2 spots between 3 teams, and the Bears currently hold the tiebreaker over both of them. Bears: KC - W @ DEN - L SEA - W @ GB - L @ MIN - W 10-6 Lions: @ NO - L MIN - W @ OAK - L SD - W @ GB - L 9-7 Falcons: MIN - W @ HOU - W (3rd string QB) @ CAR - W JAX - W @ NO - L TB - W 12-4 Obviously we have to play the games, but its looking like its gonna come down to Detroit and Chicago. Teams are tied in the division, and tied in record vs. common games. Since there are only 2 non-common games for the Bears and Lions and Detroit lost both of theirs and the Bears won one already (PHI), we won't win that tiebreaker if we finish with the same record. So we either need to beat GB (and MIN) or hope DET loses to MIN (and GB) to be able to win the tiebreaker over them. At this point it looks like its gonna come down to the last week unless the Bears manage to win all 4 of their easier games.
  4. That was the first thing they brought up on Bears PGL. That was 3 free points, instead it ended up for 3 on the other side. Game WOULD HAVE UNFOLDED DIFFERENTLY, but that's a pretty big momentum swing before the half.
  5. Yeah because everything else would have unfolded exactly the same had the Bears scored before the half... Dude come on. Don't take everything so literally please
  6. i take pleasure knowing your team lost Yeah, but they won the previous 6, so it's cool. 5 unless you are talking about another team.
  7. Right...cant get too mad about losing, although it was a bit frustrating how it came about. I guess all losses are though. Bottom line is that we HAVE to win 3 out of the 4 non-Packer games. We could even lost to KC this week, but that would hurt because they are probably the easiest of the 5 teams left, given that its at home. Seattle and Denver have played much better, and Minnesota is in the Dome.
  8. Bears 23, Oakland 22. Martz adjusted score.
  9. That was dumb, but doesn't make me that upset. All it did was take away the 0.00001% chance of connecting on a hail mary in the end zone. Wasn't a big fan of the playcalls on that drive however. I mean in some of them he didnt have a choice, like the play to Forte. It's either 4th and 10 with :17 seconds left or 1st and 10 with 4 seconds left. Either way you are unlikely to score a TD
  10. lol Hanie. You dumbie. Gotta win next week. Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit and Chicago in a 4 way tie for 2 playoff spots.
  11. Get it to the damn sidelines Caleb
  12. Sorry, I don't agree with going over the middle twice there. Maybe the 2nd time but not the 1st. Now its becoming almost impossible.
  13. lol a minute to go 96 yards. Wish Hester would have found a way to get to that ball before it went inside the 5. No way he could though. Their special teams is amazing.
  14. So we are gonna get about 1:05ish I think. Not likely but hey, this was going to be a tough game. Being in the position to win at the end is not bad.
  15. Please do something stupid like a play action pass that falls incomplete and gives us lots of time.
  16. not really, but if they get 1 1st down its over True. If they get to the 2 minute warning on the kickoff, at best we get the ball back with something like 35 seconds left maybe?
  17. We'd need an onside no matter what right?
  18. This is one of the weirder over-dramatic statements you've ever made. They allowed 7 scoring drives did they not? Kudos to them for keeping them out of the end zone until now, but how could you not call this a bad defensive performance overall? It wasn't a good job, but it wasn't "horrible." If Jay plays, the D is on the field less and we win by 15 at least. Considering the circumstances with Hanie turning the ball over and not staying on the field, they did alright. Yeah, my main angle was that it was a horrible job given what we needed them to do today, but in my anger shortened it to them just being horrible. It wasn't that bad, but we needed a great performance against a mediocre offense and we let old man Palmer pick us apart
  19. Yeah, man, held them to 18 whole points until this drive. ? You are just going to take out random chunks of the game? They allowed 7 scoring drives for 25 points. Like I said, not bad to keep them out of the end zone, but you put them in a position to score 7 separate times.
  20. This is one of the weirder over-dramatic statements you've ever made. They allowed 7 scoring drives did they not? Kudos to them for keeping them out of the end zone until now, but how could you not call this a bad defensive performance overall?
  21. Cannot allow 25 points to a mediocre offensive team with your backup QB playing all game. That is the real story of today's game. The defense failed us when we needed it to step up. That's 2 weeks in a row the defense, especially the secondary, has been less than stellar. If the defense plays this way against KC and Denver, we can proably still win, but not today.
  22. Game over. Horrible job by the defense today. 7 scoring drives allowed.
  23. They're gonna run out the clock at this rate
