  1. Michigan finishes #13 and Baylor 14 so they are both eligable. Georgia 16, MSU 17, TCU 18.
  2. Just reported that Michigan will face Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl. Slightly surprised that Va Tech gets selected over Kansas State after how bad they looked yesterday
  3. At home no less. If they had lost to the Tigers in Baton Rouge, it would be slightly more understandable. I realize the game could have gone either way, but come on they lost their game at home and they didnt win or even play in their conference championship game. What is the point of even having conference champions?
  4. Yes, this is total ish. And add Caleb only threw the ball 23 times, he got sacked @ 25% of pass plays. Caleb held on to the ball or had no idea where to go many of those times. KC's offense is garbage, im not giving the bears defense a lot of credit. They played well but part of their domination was the opponent. I posted that, and then I saw that the actual number of sacks they had coming into the game was [expletive] 13. How do you give up 7 sacks to a team that was averaging less than 1 per game this year?
  5. This is actually my biggest reservation with Albert. Firstly being that even if he is as old as he says, I really don't like the idea of signing ANYONE into their 40's, even Albert. I do appreciate the argument that it's still a worthwhile contract if you're overpaying for him in his later years, but I just feel like that will end up being wasteful at some point, especially as the Cubs are probably a couple years from contending. Second, part of me would definitely be amused if Albert ended up getting the Obama treatment from the sports media. Pujols has made eleventy billion dollars in his career thus far. If he can't get a decent fake birth certificate, his agent sucks. Seriously. If Obama was able to get one, Albert should with no trouble. (I kid!)
  6. If it wasn't an SEC team, I bet OK State would have leaped over Alabama. In 2006 they pushed an SEC team over a Big Ten team because they didn't watch a rematch, but this year they apparently want a rematch because its an SEC team playing another SEC team. It's almost the exact same scenario as 2006. BCS #1 Big Ten team narrowly beats BCS #2 Big Ten team. Michigan finds itself back at #2 and in line to have a rematch going into the last week. Maybe the quality of the teams Michigan beat was worse, who knows.
  7. Here we go.... LSU vs. Alabama is official 1. LSU 2. Alabama 3. Future AP national champion 4. Stanford 5. Oregon 6. Arkansas 7. Boise State 8. Kansas State 9. South Carolina 10. Wisconsin
  8. we just lost to the freaking chiefs at home, i'm pretty sure we're not going to see our lame duck oc gameplan us into the playoffs now that he has the advantage of losing his best player. it's time for you to move on to the next sport and see if your fraud mvp has learned how to shoot 40% in the playoffs yet. Yeesh. I was talking about the defense's game plan against the Bears. The season may be hopeless, but they still have to play the games, so I'm going to focus on how they can somehow play better. Also, Derrick Rose shot 49% from the field just 2 years ago. We'll see how he does when he doesnt have to shoulder the load for the entire offense (if they manage to get the right person).
  9. It's weird for me to cheer for the Packers at all the last 2 weeks. Thank God I can go back to hating on you guys. Cutler has missed more games in the last 2 weeks than GB quarterbacks have missed over the last 20 years. I know you all know that, but [expletive] does that piss me off every single time I think about it.
  10. I'm upset about Forte, but not as devistated as when Cutler was out. For one Barber (if he can stay healthy) is not a bad second option...certainly better that Hanie. But also because the Bears might actually get some chances to run with opposing defenses not focusing their entire gameplan on stopping Forte. Then again, with the QB and offensive line performance today, I think Barber is probably the best individual player that opposing teams should focus their gameplan around stopping.
  11. Jerry Palm is projecting that Michigan finishes 12th, and TCU 18th. Also apparently Kansas State was supposed to get an invite to the Cotton Bowl, but now its being reported that the Cotton Bowl is not an option for them anymore. So the speculation is Michigan-Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl. I'll take that matchup. At least its a BCS conference team so it will feel somewhat like a big game, but its definitely a winnable matchup for Michigan. As alluded to, Alabama has all but made the championship game given the reports, but Palms projections are pretty close. He has Alabama over OSU by 0.009 points. Crazy if it ends up like that.
  12. Bill Simmons is an idiot, but Bill Simmons hits the nail on the head once in awhile. He didn't pick the Giants but pointed out that the Giants do this every year. They look horrible and everyone gives up on them and suddenly they beat a team that no one gives them a shot to beat. Obviously GB will probably still win the game, but I think most people expected an easier win for the Packers.
  13. Poor Green Bay. Remember when they had to play without their pro bowl caliber QB for that one game last year? I hate the fact that the Falcons lost, the Giants are losing, the Cowboys might lose, and the Lions will probably lose. Everything resets itself. Then again, the Texans were one of two teams that I think could beat the Falcons the rest of the season, the Lions were expected to lose to NO, and the Giants were expected to lose to GB. The Bears lost to the worst team on their schedule, so now they have to pretty much beat Denver, Seattle and Minnesota to make the playoffs.
  14. He's a big part of it. most of it even. I think people are understating Chris Williams injury. The offensive line was playing well when he got hurt and he was graded as the only above average player on the line (I believe). Now it's regressed to the point where we give up 7 sacks to the team with the least number of sacks all year. Is Hanie partially to blame for some of them? Of course. I just heard this on te radio: the Chiefs had 13 sacks all season coming into today and had 7 today. Wow. But yeah , Jay should probably ask for an extension after this one. It's clear he's the most important player on the team.
  15. Coaches poll has Bama narrowly over OK st for 2nd. That might be enough for OSU however given their edge with the computers. Michigan managed to go 12th with TCU, MSU, Georgia, Houston , Clemson, and Oklahoma all behind them, so that's gotta be good. If the Harris follows suit I'll feel pretty good.
  16. Chiefs came into the game dead last in the NFL in sacks. Got 7 today. Nice
  17. Hanie wasn't great but he wasn't atrocious either. He started making some throws and everytime we got some momentum the Oline [expletive] the bed. I'm not sure which injury is worse right now, Cutler, Forte or Chris Williams. But either way, you lose the 3 best players on a mediocre offense and it's probably going to be pretty bad. I agree with Sulley that almost everything went wrong for the Bears today. Don't get me wrong, they made a ton of mistakes that were their fault but from Fortes injury to invisible defensive holdings to keep a drive alive to not calling helmet to helmet to the miracle hail Mary to Williamd deflecting a ball right to a chief. Just wasn't our game. Christ is this right? 3 points scored on 4 trips to the red zone. That's bad. Everytime we got into scoring range the line gave up. Dickerson just said Forte out at least a month with knee sprain
  18. With the Seahawks and Broncos playing well and the Viking game being in the dome, this is by far the easiest game we have left this year. We must win. Bears 23 Chiefs 10
  19. Considering what Gus Johnson is known for, I'm surprised they didn't make a bigger deal out of that. It was just like "oh ok Wisconsin is going to win now."
  20. Wow...what a blunder. MSU returns a punt to the 5 yard line with 1:30 left down 3, but they run into the kicker, giving Wisconsin a 1st down and clinching the game.
  21. I'm starting to get a bit worried about Michigan's BCS chances. A few things that really hurt are the fact that the Big Ten game is really close...if Wisconsin pulls it out I'm not sure MSU will for sure drop below Michigan. Another thing that hurt is Baylor winning comfortably. They could easily find themselves ahead of Michigan after the weekend. I'm starting to think that unless VT makes it close, Clemson winning comfortably could hurt Michigan as well. Even though they get the auto BCS bid, beating the 5 team in the country convincingly could have them jump Michigan. TCU also looked good in winning today and could jump UM. The good things are Oklahoma getting destroyed. They could easily drop below UM after getting blown out in a rivalry game. Georgia lost, and although the game was close for awhile, the final score was lopsided. Houston lost badly and could drop all the way below UM. So Michigan needs to jump 2 spots, and 4 teams ahead of them that they could realistically pass lost (6 Houston, 10 Oklahoma, 14 Georgia, 13/15 MSU/Wisc). However, 3 teams immediately below them won and looked good doing so. Is that going to be enough?
  22. There's no chance of Virginia Tech having a chance to steal an at-large spot after today's performance, is there?
  23. Nice 4 point weekend for the Hawks! Not always pretty but I'll take it. Wish we could work on that goal differential though. We're at 16-8-3 but only +6 for the season.
  24. Quite a turnaround in this one. Hawks look good tonight for the most part.
  25. Of course, just as I say that the Blues score.
