  1. Hawks coming out with a lot of energy tonight.
  2. Somehow Gus Johnson has me excited for a game between 2 teams I don't really like.
  3. Has there ever been a scenario where a team loses their bowl game but is still voted a share or the entire national championship? Seems weird to vote for a team that just lost. I know the AP doesn't give 2 shits about the BCS, but it would be odd for them to devalue a bowl like that.
  4. Wow, on the SEC championship game broadcast they are talking about whether LSU should get a share of the national title by the AP even if they lose in the NC game.
  5. They have beaten 2 other BCS teams, one on the road and one in a neutral location, and demolished another top 10 team. They are also the only undefeated team in the country. Clearly they are the best team in the country and a sluggish offensive game against Georgia doesn't really change that. Are they mid-90's Nebraska dominant? No, but they are damn good.
  6. He can do plenty wrong, especially right now. Doesn't mean you have to give up on him as the Blackhawks goalie for the next several years because of a bad month. (not saying you said that, but its the kind of overreactions ive been seeing)
  7. I know you were being sarcastic, but I think people in general are overreacting to Crawfords struggles. If he's still sucking in a month, then I'll panic.
  8. oh come on. If you compare his season to the recent rough stretch by Crawford that I posted on the last page, Crawfords numbers are still better than Emery's. No need to overreact to a bad 10-15 game stretch. It's disappointing and worrisome, but it doesnt erase what he's done in the past and can do in the future.
  9. I think the hope is it hurts Bama enough to push OSU ahead of them. I guess so. It at least opens the possibility of another matchup, however small. The gap between 2 and 3 is huge though. OSU would have to really dominate OU and hope it gets the voters on their side. It seems like everyone has pretty much conceded that LSU-Bama is going to be the title game, which is different from 2006 when the media was openly against Michigan playing OSU in the title game, so it wasnt a huge surprise when Florida ended up #2.
  10. The latter. The only scenario where a conference can have 3 teams is if #1 and #2 are not conference champions.
  11. You in particular should probably not root for Georgia, because a Georgia win likely takes Michigan out of the BCS. You would have to root for TCU not to make it up to 16 at that point because that would be the only spot available. I realize that. I'm just talking from the average fan's perspective. I am rooting heavily against UGA (and OU and Baylor just to be safe)
  12. I don't see the point in cheering for UGA here. Highly unlikely a loss does anything to change the title game. Only a blowout would likely even put their status into question most likely.
  13. Doesn't really matter though right? Southern Miss is the Conference USA champions now not Houston. The question could be if blowing out the #6 team could somehow get Southern Miss into the top 16 and ahead of TCU. Highly doubt that's even a remote possibility though.
  14. TCU Why not Boise State who is ranked higher and has less losses? Does it have to do with being a conference champion and/or beating Boise St head to head? I'm not clear on how these things work.
  15. Houston losing by 2 TDs, interesting. Who has a chance to benefit from them losing with regards to the BCS?
  16. Kind of cool I guess
  17. I'm guessing this was a Keith Law joke, right?
  18. It's hard not to enjoy live hockey. Its a ton more enjoyable to watch live IMO.
  19. They've looked really good at times this year, and other times downright awful. One game in the last 5 days, they should be well rested and flying all over the ice. The only thing that makes me not overreact is that we went through a similar lackadaisical period 2 years ago in March when everyone was bagging on the goaltender, and the Hawks were struggling against mediocre to bad teams. Certainly got out of that hole. Niemi just put it together for us. Be honest. Is Crawford going to do the same? I don't think the goalie was the only reason why we were slumping that march, nor is Niemi stepping up the only reason we had better results the rest of the season, but he was a big part sure. Crawford had stretches last season where he stepped up, so I don't see why not.
  20. Hawks win...yay

  22. Yeah...this is embarrassing. Ironically its been some decent goaltending by Crawford in this period that's allowed us to even have a chance for a point in this game. Can't believe that....we're fortunate to get at least a point at home against the crappy ass Islanders. Islanders had 6 points on the road all year...last in NHL.
  23. Now we're losing at home to the [expletive] Islanders? Geez, get your [expletive] together guys. Kane is back at RW...interesting
  24. Congrats to Jim Hendry for his new job with the Marlins.
  25. This is an insider article on ESPN, but I figured I would at least share the actual list, plus his tidbit on Castro (the only Cub to make the list). For this list, a player has to have already played his rookie year, so prospects are not included. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7291374/mlb-justin-upton-leads-top-50-list-mlb-players-age-25 About Castro: The list: 1.
