cause it's a great story? it WAS a great story. now he's just an okay player if people like him, great. i just don't understand the people who are relishing his failures or are upset that he's padding his stats Have you lived in America long? This country anoints people when they've accomplished little, hype them up until he/she hits peak exposure and then it's a race to see who can tear him/her down the quickest. Lin isn't at all the first person this has happened to and definitely won't be the last.

Cal has a decent RPI but I don't think it's a lock that they get an at large bid. They only played 3 Top 50 RPI teams this year and lost all 3 by a combined 57 points. The PAC 12 is having by far the most bizarre major conference season of all time. The entire league seems to be evenly matched all playing like marginal NCAA bubble teams and non able to step up for more than a minute to reach the top of this trash heap. I say they cancel the PAC 12 championship game and give the spot to Northwestern. At least they won 1 game against a Top 25 RPI team.

Great win tonight. Were down 2-1 until 7 minutes left in the 3rd when they scored 2 goals within 90 seconds, and then added an EN goal to seal it. At least we know if the Hawks somehow made the Finals and faced the Rangers, we'd have the mental edge over them :)

Does anyone else think that the firm use of "Top 25/50/100" wins is kind of silly? I was just reading that NC State came into the week 0-8 against the Top 50, which was a major blow against its resume. But after everything that happened during the week, they now have 4 wins against the Top 50, which supposedly is a huge bump for their profile. But the teams they beat awhile ago (Miami x2, Texas) are still the same damn teams, but now ranked 48th and 49th instead of 51st and 52nd. I know you have to draw the line somewhere to compare 100 different teams evenly, but still there has to be a way to take those borderline top 50 wins into consideration.

I'm pretty sure I'm putting Cincinnati way too high but look at what a run they are on. 9-2 in their last 11 games including wins over Syracuse, Georgetown, Marquette, Louisville and Seton Hall. Only losses were @ Marquette and @ South Florida. They now have 5 wins this year against the top 20 RPI teams, and 7 against the top 40. Their biggest problem is that they lost to something call Presbyterian, but that was all the way back in November, so I'm willing to overlook that one.

Purdue's floor at this point, I feel like, is a 9. Their ceiling would probably be a 6. Just total guesswork without any numbers in front of me though. I WILL HAVE ALL THE NUMBERS IN 90 MINUTES. AT LEAST, FOR WHOEVER SENDS THEM TO ME. Working on mine now.

Weird ass OT... Teams combined to shoot 15 FTs in OT, and none of them came from a shooting foul. Also, of the 30 points scored in OT, 28 of the points were from 3 pointers or FTs Also, Michigan scored 17 points in OT, which is only 3 less than the 20 they scored in the first half of the game.

Burke is so clutch Why are the refs calling so many [expletive] ticky tack fouls when both teams are over the limit in a close OT game, jesus There have been at least 10 FTs shot in OT and none of them were from shooting fouls

Of course Minnesota just decides to hit contested off balance 3 pointers 2 feet behind the line 2 straight possessions. If they miss even one of them this game is over.

Michigan forced 3 turnovers in a row and all they turned them into a rushed mid range jumper on the fast break missed, a wild out of control layup attempt on the break missed, and a missed front end of a 1 and 1. In a 4 point game, those are critical possessions wasted

Does Minnesota beating Michigan (up 7 with 3 minutes left) a night after beating Northwestern, get them back into the discussion? I don't know if a team with a 6-12 conference record should be in the dance, but supposedly they don't look at conference records. Edit: Whoops never mind, that was just a jinx
