  1. WOW Iona in...wonder who is out because of that
  2. Wow maybe SSR was right on Memphis. They got an 8 seed
  3. bukie, just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work in organizing and putting together this thing. First time I've done it and I enjoyed it and feel more into the selection process than I've ever been.
  4. They are on the S-curve at 47, but I don't think they are on the bracket. I think they should be playing 5 seed Creighton in the Midwest region, as he has them playing 12a/12b winner, but also has 12a playing 12d. Either a very busy weekend for Miami or bukie made a very rare mistake.
  5. Yay Michigan has a camera where they are watching the show. The last 2 times they made the tourney, they watched it at Crisler Arena. This year it looks like they are in a film room or something.
  6. Interesting if Michigan plays their first weekend in Columbus. That might as well be a road game, as OSU fans will surely attend just to boo UM.
  7. Let me preface this by saying that I know the goal wasn't to match what the actual bracket is or Lunardi's projections, etc. But for fun here is our S-curve with Lunardi's ranking in parenthesis: BOLD = Same S-curve ranking as Lunardi GREEN = Within 2 spots of Lunardi's ranking RED = 5+ spots off of Lunardi's ranking or didn't make Lunardi's bracket 1. Kentucky (1) 2. Syracuse (2) 3. North Carolina (3) 4. Kansas (5) 5. Ohio State (4/7 depending on todays game) 6. Michigan State (4/7 depending on todays game) 7. Missouri (6) 8. Duke (8) 9. 8. Would this bet the first time ever that none of the four #1 seeds won their conference tourney? I'm guessing the Big Ten winner will replace Kansas though so it might be a moot point.
  9. Is this like wrestling where they are going to bring the Big 12 trophy to the SEC title game this afternoon?
  10. I like Memphis and think they are playing at a high level right now (and finally playing how people expected when they were preseason #8), but their non-conference season left a lot to be desired. They played 5 top 50 (actually top 25) RPI teams in non-conference season and went 0-5. They did play Xavier in February and won so besides that single one of their top 50 wins this year is from conference play. CUSA was only 9th in conference RPI this year, only slightly ahead of the Pac 12, and very top heavy this year (Memphis, Marshall, Southern Miss, UCF). The rest of the teams range from below average to terrible, so it could be argued that they fluffed up their record by beating bad conference foes. 1-6 against the RPI top 25 4-6 against the top 50 SOS was 20 but they lost to more of those good teams than they won I don't know if I made a good case or not. I think I had Memphis respectfully high in my rankings, but I can kind of see why someone would think they look more like a 7 seed than a 5 seed.
  11. That is [expletive] hilarious. What is that from?
  12. Noah was sick I guess
  13. Yeah probably shouldn't throw an elbow at your opponent right in front of the ref during a critical possession for your team.
  14. We just won the gold. Wow great point, I wasnt even thinking about that. Spain has to be in mourning.
  15. 8:42 left, Cincinnati has yet to cross the 30 point threshold
  16. no bitching here, they don't deserve to be in. Just an observation about how many bubble teams have improved their standing over the weekend so far.
  17. I don't know, I kind of like Colorado over both of those guys. Colorado has the toughest SOS, more top 50 wins, a ton more top 100 wins (and a .500 record), and no bad losses. The strikes against them are 1) poor road/neutral record, 2)worst RPI of the 3, 3) 7 of their 8 top 100 wins were against the disastrous Pac-12 conference (other against Georgia) Colorado: RPI: 72 SOS: 71 Top 50: 2-3 (both wins Cal) Top 100: 8-8 RPI 150+ losses: 0 Road/Neutral: 5-7 Belmont: RPI: 64 SOS: 234 Top 50: 1-3 (win over Marshall) Top 100: 2-4 RPI 150+ losses: 2 Road/Neutral: 10-6 Davidson: RPI: 65 SOS: 180 Top 50: 1-3 (win "at" Kansas) Top 100: 2-4 RPI 150+ losses: 2 Road/Neutral: 9-5
  18. I agree. I actually took another look at their resume today, I was impressed. I'd be ok with putting them a little higher on the S-curve
  19. Saturday night dude
  20. Northwestern started the day as the 2nd team out of Lunardi's bracket and at the end of the day they are now not even in the top 8 teams out.
  21. Remember the first game back from the All Star break, we had EVERYONE healthy and available? It was a great feeling, and it made a lot of us think that this would be the period where our team came together for the stretch run. It took all of 12 days for us to have 4 rotation players including 3 starters out again.
  22. Gotta love 3 starters and a key bench player all sitting at the same time. Rose is probably going to put up 50 tonight because him and Boozer are the only even slightly competent offensive players in the game tonight.
  23. lol now Nantz is destroying Michigan for this drubbing, openly wondering how Michigan could have won a share of the Big Ten title with a team that is clearly much less talented than Ohio State and basically saying that Michigan doesn't belong with OSU and MSU. It may or may not be true but its more blunt than I typically expect from these guys.
  24. 71-44 Ohio State. Yikes.
  25. It's pretty clear that the refs have a blatant bias towards Kentucky and Iowa
