Or trade for a star with assets. The problem is our best assets right now are players like Butler, Taj, Mirotic and maybe McDermott. After this year Butler will probably be overpaid with his new deal, so his value goes way down. After this year Taj will be 30 so his value will never be as high as it is now. Mirotic has to play like a 5-6 mil player or better this year to be a good chip, but I'm not sure that's possible as a 4th big playing 15-20 min per night. Basically this was the offseason to cash in your trade chips for a star player and the Bulls didn't do it. They might be worth keeping, I'm not saying yet that its the wrong decision, but I think it might be awhile before we have the 'attractive pieces' component for a trade for a star.
