  1. idiotic, wouldnt it have been mutually beneficial for the lakers to have accepted him in a S+T for Gasol?
  2. Seriously....11 players on the roster, 7 of them are white or partially white (Noah)
  3. All-2018 fantasy team has Baez and Bryant at 2B and 3B respectively, Rizzo, Castro and Soler as "best of the rest" at 1B, SS and OF, Schwarber as a sleeper choice for OF, and Russell as a notable exclusion at SS (because his value is propped up by his glove and not as much fantasy according to the writer) http://espn.go.com/fantasy/baseball/story/_/id/11223359/mike-trout-kris-bryant-clayton-kershaw-lead-all-2018-fantasy-team
  4. Record as starter: 1-0
  5. Found it! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f19/TheMojoPin/Nomartorehissac.jpg Man, I had a lot of time on my hands: holy cow haha. the only ones i actually remember seeing are the bush/dusty and the nomar one. I remember the Nomar one, the Dusty one, the DLee one, Aramis, and the Japanese Fukudome thing. That was a blast from the past.
  6. Lets bring them all up in May Alcantara, CF Russell, SS Bryant, LF Rizzo, 1B Baez, 3B Soler, RF Castro, 2B Castillo, C That should be our approximate lineup from May on.
  7. Orton hate was so weird. I thought he was actually going to be a decent QB after the start of the 2008 season. He had solid numbers until he had that high ankle sprain halfway through the season (62% comp %, 10 TD - 4 INT, 1,669 passing yards through 7 games). But I guess part of my like at the time was that I thought he was still projectable and was going to get better. But he never got over the hump. In Denver he got the reputation of being a 20-20 guy (ok Bill Simmons started that but it made sense). Could get you from your own 20 to the opponents 20 but wasn't talented enough to finish drives on shorter fields. Eventually he just faded away.
  8. Russell 0-4 down to .194 BA Soler PH and had an RBI single
  9. Looking at the East, I see 7 teams that could conceivably win the conference. I'm probably overrating some of them, but with so much shuffling of power, I think the gap between these 7 teams is small. 7 teams: Indiana, Miami, Chicago, Cleveland, Charlotte, Washington, Toronto I'd be willing to drop Charlotte, that's a bit of a reach, and maybe Washington, but the other 5 I definitely think are legit.
  10. I can't wait until Baez and Bryant are striking out in All Star games
  11. Great showing Cobs
  12. His name used to be Mike. What did you expect? I had him in fantasy baseball when he was Mike Stanton (I think he was like 20 that year). Anyways, then I pictured him as a massive power hitting pasty young white guy that looked exactly like former reliever Mike Stanton. Wow this entire chain of conversation is accurate for me. I pictured him as a hitting mike Stanton until I learned he was Giancarlo then I thought he was someone who could barely speak English and because he plays in obscure Miami I assumed he had no personality because you don't hear much from him.
  13. This time it counts doesn't include replay?
  14. Better not get some Cardinal scumbag starting when the Cubs are good enough to compete for a world series
  15. I cannot stand gray on the Cubs hats. Why can't they do red and blue?
  16. Actually nevermind, a more brilliant thing would be to put that gold thing on individual players that win a title, one for each one they've won. This way, its a new jersey every fan has to go out and buy every time the player wins the title. Because you don't want to be the loser rocking an MJ jersey with only 4 things on it. The NBA makes more money! Also the NBA is a team game with the most individualism in it, the players will love getting rewarded with a badge of honor that they wear the rest of their careers no matter where they go.
  17. I like it too, but I think it should only be titles won in the current city, and there should be one gold thing for each title won, making the Celtics look fugly for all of eternity (Lakers will look fine because it matches)
  18. the HR derby was last night edit: dammit, i was beaten to the HR derby joke already.
  19. The only thing the HR Derby is good for is gambling pools. I won $50 with Cespedes last night!
  20. So if Schwarber hits well at Daytona in like the 15 games that won't get rained out is he set up to start 2015 at Tennessee?
  21. And he moonlights as keeper for the US men's soccer team on the side
  22. in a league that is increasingly obsessed with going small. Maybe this is GarPax recognizing this and creating matchup problems for teams that insist on going small.
  23. Delayed response but that's pretty cool. So we're talking 61 years. I wonder if that's the largest...whatever you call this in baseball history Edit: OK brief searching, I found that Tommy John played one less season than Nolan Ryan, but his "footprint" (that's what I'm calling this) ONLY in terms of players he played with as teammates lasted from 1939 (Early Winn) to 2005 (Al Leiter)
