  1. Hah. Thought it was funny to flip over to the VT-OSU game and seeing a CB named Fuller making a play. Turns out Kyle Fuller has a brother.
  2. Yeah. Who suggested they thought otherwise?
  3. Someone said it was 7 straight ABs (noting that he walked twice in that span) Anyways, nothing you can do but keep sending him out there and helping him figure it out Oh, well bad anyway... ugg yup hopefully he figures it out soon I think he still isn't at the number of ABs it took him to get it going at a couple of his minor league stops. All is not lost, the talent is obviously there.

  5. Meh. Get the ups and downs out of the way this year. Consistent greatness next year. Would like to see Baez show a pulse at some point this month though instead of looking completely lost.
  6. 3 B1G teams losing early including Nebraska
  7. You're only allowed 1 FCS win in your count. It's a de facto 5 win rule It should be zero. I also think that you shouldn't be bowl eligible if losing the bowl game results in the team having a losing record (ie no 6-6 teams allowed) Who cares? There's too many bowl games and they must be making money because they keep making more over them. Overall, it doesn't hurt anyone for a crappy 6-6 team to play another 6-6 game in a bowl game.
  8. Stop reminding me that winning at this point is almost vainly bad. I'd rather pretend otherwise. Winning is awesome. Screw the draft. I have no long term vision. I want to win every game whether its Game 7 of the World Series, or a chance to improve to 59-103. I'll deal with the consequences later.
  9. Man I hate when Javy takes a called strike 1....based on no evidence, but it always seems like he swings wildly at whatever comes next, as if to make up for taking a hitable pitch.
  10. Has anyone ever been bored and looked at who is playing independent baseball from baseball-reference? Its like rosters full of prospect flameouts and older guys that are never going to play in the bigs again. Players that played this year in the Atlantic League include: Daryle Ward Brendan Harris Luis Montanez Lew Ford Sean Burroughs Eric Patterson JR Towles Delwyn Young Jose Morales Casper Wells Ty Wright Ryan Langerhans Chad Tracy Fred Lewis Brett Carroll Nate Spears Ben Francisco Gary Majewski Tomo Ohka(!!) Jeremy Accardo Cory Wade Jaye Chapman Mark Hendrickson Scott Maine Juan Rincon
  11. Out of curiosity how is Z allowed in the Cubs dugout but Sammy Sosa is still barred from coming within 500 yards of Wrigley Field? Also fun to note that Castro and Castillo are the only 2 Cubs on the roster to have played with Zambrano, whose last year with the Cubs was 2011.
  12. But but it is technically still summer
  13. Just trust me, it's not that great Oh come on like you don't enjoy starting out great every year and never making the playoffs Btw the Seahawks are really really good
  14. Peppers looks nice and spry. [expletive]
  15. [expletive]. I'm considering picking up Gordon in my very deep fantasy league just in case.
  16. Yeah the overall perception of the Bears locally and nationally dipped significantly after that Seattle preseason game. Before that game they were a trendy pick to win the north and compete for the title, now I see most predictions have the Bears as WC2 or out of the playoffs.
  17. And yet you won the division in all of those previous years, so what does it matter?
  18. Ugh, I went to the first game in that series. I actually left happy that game because I realized that even those the Cubs were losing the whole game, I felt good about our odds of coming back and winning. Then the Cubs came into the 9th down, I want to say 7-4, and loaded the bases with 0 outs. They promptly scored 0 runs and lost but whatever.
  19. Cubs (35-33) have a better home record than teams like the Dodgers, Mariners and Rays and have a similar record to the Yankees (35-33 vs 34-32)
  20. Yes, I don't want to have to revive my infamous Injury Update Thread next year
  21. Why are we talking about this game when the Sky just clinched a trip to the WNBA Finals!!!!
  22. Solers BA is under .500, time to panic
  23. Atta boy Javy! It's amazing the percentage of his hits that are extra bases
  24. Guess all that excess testosterone was put to good use
