  1. Admittedly, I haven't followed the Lions' offseason. Is there any particular reason why they wouldn't blow it again? It feels like people are continually picking them for better results than they actually deliver. I'd have to agree on their Packers prediction. I think the general narrative is that Schwartz didn't have control of his team and this led to the Lions collapsing the last 2 seasons. Jim Caldwell is supposedly a players coach who will keep them steady and let their talent shine. Or something like that. And they signed Golden Tate to take less pressure off of Megatron. Not saying I buy it necessarily, its just what I've seen out there.
  2. That site doesn't like us. Projects us to finish either 7-9 or 8-8, gives us the 19th best chance of making the playoffs out of 32 teams. Teams like the Giants, Lions, Falcons and Titans are given better odds. Meh
  3. PTR is taking the family out to Olive Garden tonight!
  4. wow I had no idea he was still around and pitching now. That's a blast from the past.
  5. Haha, I know there are a lot of examples like this out there on the internet, but the reddit people are usually fairly rational.
  6. People on RealGM seem really against trading Taj to better the team (not even just in a Love deal)...look I love Taj and think he's worth the $8 mil a year, but the issue is that we have a glut of PF's that deserve minutes, Taj is the most tradeable asset among them (given verbal assurances from GarPax that Mirotic won't be traded at least this season), and we (IMO) have a huge need at 2/3. I would hate to do it but for the right deal I'm absolutely fine with trading Taj.
  7. I think MLB.com just updated their top 100 rankings to include 2014 draftees. They are kind of all over the place. Cubs have 8 in top 100: 4. Bryant 6. Baez 7. Russell 37. Alcantara 41. Almora 54. Soler (???) 60. CJ Edwards 80. Schwarber http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2014/#list=prospects Edit: dammit beaten by a minute.
  8. Castro now at the second lowest rate of his career in all slash mark stats. The good news is that his lowest totals were all last year but man is he sliding quickly.
  9. Come on Bryant. Be amazing again.
  10. Any chance he sees Iowa this year or is that too aggressive with a month and change left?
  11. I thought its illegal to commit rape, murder, molest, grope, cork, stuff, bang, or commit battery of a baseball on NSBB as of last week? Javy sure did take that baseball to prom though if you know what I mean! Sorry. What I meant was Javy hit a ball really hard....right in it's tight vagina. The vagina consented to it though...that's the important part
  12. Cubs not as fun to watch when Castro and Alcantara are struggling
  13. Dammit Arrieta why aren't you going 7 no hit innings every start anymore?
  14. I'm sure this is no big deal but the Bears sure do get in a lot of fights with each other. In OTAs there was that skirmish between Bennett and Houston, yesterday it was McManis and Weems. Today Houston was at it again, against Jordan Mills. Edit: Actually that fight in OTAs was between Mills+Bennett and Houston. Definitely seems like Houston and Mills aren't big fans of each other. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-training-camp-practice-skirmish-20140726,0,7167415.story
  15. Iowa has a double header where game 1 starts at 6:05? Hmm ok
  16. Bryant with an run-scoring IF single. Soler can't get the tying run home as Bryant was out on a fielders choice. Darn
  17. Bryant singles home Baez and advances to third on an error and represents the tying run with 1 out
  18. Would be nice if Castro can snap out of his slump starting now
  19. This is the kind of back and forth rivalry game that will be a lot more enjoyable when the Cubs don't suck in a year or two
  20. It's that time of the year. Can't they play April-June in Daytona and July-August somewhere else? They can be one of those cool hyphened team names like New Orleans-Oklahoma City Hornets. Daytona-Fayette Cubs maybe (just picked a random city but its got 200,000 people an no minor league team)?
