    Looking back at the Shark trade.....at the time the Cubs were 38-46, and the A's 55-33. After the trade, the Cubs went 35-43, and the A's went 35-41. That means that Shark (and Hammel) were on a team for 160 games this year, and that "team" went....73-87, and now Shark is going to the playoffs.

    Grantland does a nice writeup of the game tonight.     I think that the Michigan mob at this point is trying for a 2-for-1 Hoke and Brandon firing at this point so at this point it's about making the entire program look incompetent and careless.

    The whole situation is embarrassing for Michigan. They waited until 1 am ET to release Brandon's statement saying Morris had a concussion and somehow Hoke, the coaching staff and the athletic trainers didn't see the hit and subsequent wobble by Morris. They let Hoke speak at a press conference yesterday where he only addresses the ankle injury and claims he has no knowledge of a concussion. Brandon says they will have a medical update late in the day which is snuck out at 1 am despite UM blog rumors that the administration knew Morris had a concussion before Hokes PC.

    I wonder if the Thunder will get one of those strips... I think they said that they would not wear one. For those franchises that moved, it's their choice. For instance I believe the Hawks and Kings will both wear it.

    Why are people rooting for the Pirates? Sure I'd rather them win than the Cardinals and Dodgers but they are division rivals who beat us annoyingly too frequently. Last year it was cute to see them in the playoffs after a long absence but this year they might as well be the Brewers or Reds to me.

    Might as well post this. D'Angelo Williams is week to week with an injury and Jonathan Stewart was out last week, don't know about this week. Funny thing is that the Bears have been good at stopping the run lately. Newton will be passing a lot which is probably not good. Carolina opens up as 2.5 point favorites Ahh what the hell.     Chargers and Cardinals had young good defenses in place. I guess that still matters more than we thought?

    Bears had one garbage time sack and no hits today. Reading an article by Jeff Dickerson that the Bears game plan was to rush 4 all game because they thought they could get pressure since Rodgers was sacked 9 times in the first 3 games. Ok whatever but why no adjustments as it became clear that Rodgers was not seeing any pressure. Halftime adjustments seemed minimal and the game got away from us quickly after that.

    Wasted offense under Trestman. Bears are 2-0 when they are out gained and 0-2 when they get more yards. 2-0 on the road and 0-2 at home. Weird season so far.

    Rizzo finishes with a .912 OPS, which is 7th in the MLB and 3rd in the NL. 32 home runs which is 9th in baseball and 2nd in the NL. If he didn't miss almost 3 weeks he could have been challenging Stanton for the league lead. Can't say enough about the season he had and I shudder to imagine what it might look like if he improves.

    I hope so but I doubt it. Cam will torch this team. Cam might night be able to get out of bed this week. He's beat to hell That's fine because the Bears plan on letting him sit in the pocket unscathed all game.

    Several times? Based on statistics at least, last year he was fine...he had 7 catches for 107 yards and a TD in one game and 6 catches for 74 yards and a TD in the other. He was bad his first year as a Bear, but still had one game with 54 yards and a TD. As a Dolphin in 2010, he had 10 catches for 127 yards.

    was hoping to find i had correctly guessed 73, but i'll still mark this down as a success That was pretty close except Rizzo was better than just good and Baez was a .225 OBP player that was not particularly exciting after his few few weeks.
