  1. Yeah that's the thing, I trust the coaching staff knows what they are doing but I think the fan base is still shell shocked from Prior, so when the best pitcher since Prior comes along everyone is going to be irrationally sensitive to high pitch counts
  2. not that i'm defending the decision, but joe said he's the most well conditioned athlete he's ever been around. he really doesn't look like he ever labors and so i'm sure there is truth behind this mentality, but it doesn't seem like it's necessary. Yeah but I'm not worried about him being gassed physically, I'm worried about his arm falling off. Can conditioning prevent that? (Serious question)
  3. Is there something about Arrieta in terms of delivery or age or something that makes Maddon not worried about having him go over 110+ pitches every start? I guess so far we haven't seen any signs of the workload affecting him but I'm worried it will at the wrong time.
  4. Just have to accept it. We will win the WC game and let the Pirates fans be the ones that ultimately bitch about it. Or we lose and spend the winter preparing for our coming domination.
  5. I don't see any potential benefit in letting Jake pitch the 9th. Joe is a smart dude so I'll trust he knows what he's doing but this seems counterintuitive to me if he goes back out.
  6. I had some pretty high expectations for Bryant as a rookie and I think he has managed to exceed them.
  7. Rondon has only pitched twice in 6 days and one of them was a 4 pitch appearance before getting ejected. He could certainly handle an inning here.
  8. Dexter, I think he is referring to the allegations that DRose participated in a gang rape with several of his friends on the alleged victim
  9. He's at 100 pitches through 7.1 IP. I'm really hoping Joe isn't thinking about it even if he got a double play on the next pitch
  10. Wasn't the source some Niagara Falls weekly publication that everyone says isn't very reputable?
  11. That was my thought. There's enough PA available to get everyone that deserves them at least 400
  12. This might be a new record for you, calling a game when it's 1-0 2 outs into the game in Coors Field. Wtf? I didn't say they are a lock to win hah And I pretty much never do the whole "game over" thing. People that do that piss me off.
  13. Well the Cubs are winning and Jake is rolling so very little ARCubsFan or Rondon Fan posts which are like 60% of game threads
  14. 44 pitches through 4. On a really good pace to pitch a CG.
  15. Pirates already up 1-0 in the 1st and have 2 on and 2 out. Blah. Guess we will have to take care of them ourselves
  16. You know the Hawks are a big deal these days when WGN broadcasts a preseason game during Tuesday night prime time
  17. Everybody seems to think I'm lavy, I don't mind I think they're Cravy.
  18. Dammit Schwarbs stop being less than awesome
  19. What is CSN airing that's more important than this game?
  20. The only NL teams that have scored more runs than us this year are the Nationals, Diamondbacks and Rockies. Considering where we were towards the middle of the season that's amazing.
  21. Folwer CF Schwarber C Bryant LF Rizzo 1B Soler RF Castro 2B Javy 3B Russell SS For the WS in the AL park: Fowler CF Schwarber DH Bryant LF Rizzo 1B Soler RF Castro 2B Montero C Javy 3B Russell SS Petition to move next Monday's game to Kansas City instead of Wrigley just so we can see this lineup in action
  22. Obviously there is no curse of the billy goat or whatever but the constant need to remind people of it whenever the Cubs are good is stupid. At least the Cubs aren't the ones doing it this time.
  23. So this is how the billy goat curse strikes, Anthony Rizzo eaten by a snow leopard
