  1. Obviously sweeping would be optimal and would either put us ahead by 0.5 games or behind 0.5 games but we're not completely out of it even if we win 2 of 3 with Pittsburgh having a series with St Louis while we play Cincinnati
  2. who wasn't letting you on the train? were you trying to get on without paying? otherwise you'd have to try pretty hard to not be allowed on a train after a cubs game Yes I'd really love to get the day after sober story if he even remembers
  3. Still 3 outs left. Crazier things have happened Also meh. I can't any loss frustrating. The chances of winning the division are slim and while I'd like the WC game in Wrigley I'm not worried too much about playing at PNC. I don't have tickets for the game at PNC. Ok slightly more frustrating for you then

  5. Ok guys it's time to let you all in on a secret, I'm Len Kasper Or it's just a coincidence that he basically repeated my last 2 posts word for word seconds after I posted
  6. That is correct. Funny thing is, after those 9 I believe the next most is 2
  7. I think that makes 9 Cubs with double digit HRs Rizzo, Bryant, Fowler, Schwarber, Montero, Castro, Russell, Coghlan, Soler
  8. I mean are you kidding me? I have no idea what to think anymore.
  9. Darnell Autrey...now that's a name I haven't thought about in awhile.
  10. Seriously? Then how did the evidence end up on the doorstep? Are they saying its fake? Because if its not fake, there is definitely a hole in their handling of the evidence, whether a fellow cop did it or someone else.
  11. I missed the first couple minutes but somebody dropped off the tampered with rape kit at the victim's mother's house, possibly as a good samaritan tipster. The implication is that somebody with access to the kit tampered with the kit in an effort to protect Kane and the victim's lawyer is looking for the Feds to come in and investigate a potentially shady police department and/or DA's office. I'm just trying to figure out what the implications are. If they had evidence that someone related to Kane tampered with the kit, can that be used as probable cause to charge him? It doesn't seem like it. If it was determined that someone related to Kane was found to be the one that tampered it, could Kane be charged with obstruction of justice?
  12. Biggest thing is that the DNA Rape Kit test was apparently torn open, found in a dumpster and mailed to the victims mother's house. Arent sure when it was torn open, but either way if its true this evidence is inadmissible in court. Julie DiCaro's Twitter has a pretty good blow by blow of the press conference.
  13. What if I was to tell you that there was a 3 minute video of every home run Bryant has hit this year, is that something you might be interested in? http://m.cubs.mlb.com/chc/video/v495668883/?affiliateId=clubMEGAMENU
  14. My first thought was that they were going to do it to stem some of the public tide that has ever so slightly turned in Kane's direction, but overall I do not see what good can come from answering questions or just speaking to the media in general. Kane pretty much had to say something publicly, and when he did, he didn't really say anything.
  15. I can enjoy the playoffs when the Cubs are out only if teams that didn't eliminate the Cubs that are likable advance. For instance in 2007, I enjoyed watching the Rockies, when the Cubs were out (although it kind of aggravated me seeing the DBacks get swept so easily after sweeping us). In 2008, I rooted for the Rays and their ALCS against Boston was one of the more enjoyable playoff series I've ever watched. In 2003, I don't think I watched more than a minute or two of that World Series for obvious reasons.
  16. I was looking up the last time a starter with an ERA under 2 didn't win the Cy Young and damn, how did Clemens finish 3rd in 2005? 1.87 ERA in 211 innings. His FIP was a run higher but still led the league. He was worth 7.8 wins. Carpenter won it with a 2.85 ERA and 2.90 FIP but was worth under 6 wins. Oh here we go. Clemens was 13-8 and Carp won over 20 games. Sportswriters....
  17. Cubs can win 90 games for the second time in the last 25 seasons with a win in this one (typical disclaimer that I'm not counting 1998 because it took them 163 games) If the Cubs can go 7-4 in their last 11 they will tie the second most wins in a season since 1945. If they go 8-3 they will tie the most wins since 1945.
  18. Glad to see Schwarber get on base 3 times today with 2 hits. He had some tough luck the last couple of games
  19. 1.65 ERA is really impressive though So is 1.88 and considering he has an ERA under 1.00 since the middle of June, he definitely has a shot.
  20. Yup, need 5 things to go our way but it's possible
  21. Jake is so good he pitches a complete game shutout and his ERA only goes down 0.08 points
  22. Haha the reporter just said Jake pitched a complete game no hitter for his 20th win
