    Would you skip his start entirely? If so you are giving him 10 days off then 1 start before his WC start If you just move him back, he's not on track for the WC game anymore. Plus you'd let the Royals get a free look at the Game 1 and 5 starter in the World Series.

    I'm surprised no one has brought up Theo and co not trading for a good starter at the deadline in awhile. Could have been useful.

    He had like a sub-2 ERA into June I think. And Maddon has been good about yanking him early before he completely implodes in games.

    They are just red hot right now. Tbh, all 3 of their top pitchers (who are going this weekend) scare me more than any Cardinal starter. Liriano I believe has always done really good against us

    I think optimal scenario if Cubs can't catch Pirates is Cardinals and Pirates play a tie breaking game so they have to burn either Cole or whoever St Louis starts

    Definitely wanted an on field celebration but this team leads baseball in the walk off wins and has celebrated events like a no hitter and a 20th win. We've gotten plenty of on field celebrations from this team. And I have no doubt if they win today they will celebrate as if they just clinched.

    I can't believe the Cubs have somehow lost 4 games to the Pirates in a week (since we won Saturday afternoon and were temporarily 0.5 back). It doesn't even feel like we have lost that much.

    I def am. Boo to celebrating after a sf loss Especially because the Giants game will end 7 hours from now. In 2007 we didn't clinch with a win but everyone was still in the clubhouse so we got to see celebrations. I want my "Jacque Jones wearing goggles" moment with this team and not some stupid "pretend like we clinched the next time we win" type of celebration.

    Nahhh no thanks I knew that would get shot down. I don't mind having a slightly more balanced lineup. Maybe it's bad luck that were last in baseball in % of runners scoring from 3rd and less than 2 outs, maybe it has nothing to do with striking out, I don't know but it seems like being a high strikeout team and being able to drive in runs on those situations should be correlated. I guess as it is we have a very good offense and a very good record in 1 run games so it must not be hurting us that much
