This has to be the first inter league game where both teams have already clinched playoff spots thus having a legit shot at being a WS preview There are interleague matchups everyday now so I bet in the last few years there have been a couple. Yes but almost all teams clinch with in the last 10 days or so of the season, meaning there are only like 2-3 interleague series each year. And this is the 3rd year they've had interleague year round. I'll dig to see. Looking at the last 3 series of the season 2013: Giants @ Yankees (neither team qualified for playoffs), Red Sox @ Rockies (Red Sox already clinched, Rockies DNQ), Tigers @ Marlins (Tigers already clinched, Marlins DNQ) 2014: Phillies @ A's (Phillies DNQ, A's had not cliched playoffs yet), Diamondbacks @ Twins (neither team qualified), Astros @ Mets (neither team qualified)
