  1. So our games are just a whole lot of watching people swing and miss regardless of who is on the field.
  2. I was thinking about my favorite posts over the years. If I ever get ambitious enough I will find them and like them. Trees photoshop will be the first one I do
  3. Good, we'll win tonight and the Pirates will start to feel the pressure waking up only 1.5 up. Or something like that.
  4. Yeah it's wrong of you. I don't understand that logic at all and never have.
  5. Also Bickell was placed on waivers. If I understand it correctly, another team can pick him up if they are willing to absorb his contract. If he clears waivers, he will likely be sent to Rockford, where presumably Dano would be called up. Interesting stuff to say the least.
  6. Hmm...Dano sent to Rockford. That's a bit surprising. Looks like Baun made the team after a good preseason
  7. FYI you also get notifications for each like that says who liked it. Is there anyway to change the heart to something Cubs related?
  8. Cubs need them to take 2 I hope the Reds at least take 1 of the first 2 and the Cubs take care of business so there is something to play for on the last day at least. I'm pretty sure the Pirates will have Cole, Liriano and Burnett going so it will be a tall order.
  9. Here's the list of available extensions. I'm open to adding it if you can find one. https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewforum.php?f=536 I may have found one... Time to test it out. That cutesy heart just screams NSBB :)
  10. sweep the Brewers and finish 0.5 games behind that great 2008 team. Boggles my mind.
  11. Cubs out score the Reds 19-7 in the sweep, only 1 of those runs allowed by a starter.
  12. 94-65 and Jake on the bump tomorrow. Life is good
  13. Middle relief is doing it's screwing around thing, and defense has forgotten how to catch balls cleanly. Will there likely be a staff day one of these last few games? Not sure I want to see that. I missed how Rodney got the first 2 on but excluding that, the pitchers did their job. Rodney got a grounder that Russell botched, then got a double play ball that couldn't be turned fast enough. Richard got a perfectly placed slow grounder that got through, and then Cahill got a ground ball that Baez couldn't field cleanly
  14. Geez, I think the Cubs caught shitty defensitis from watching the Reds too much.
  15. The Reds have certainly been one of "those teams" for the Pirates this year. Good point...every Central team has been one of those teams for Pittsburgh. They are 51-15 against the NL East and West and 32-41 against the Central.
  16. This Reds team is so bad. I don't see how they go into Pittsburgh with any chance of winning at least 2/3 (needed to at least have a shot at hosting the WC game) but I guess stranger things have happened
  17. Good we got the run back that the GR double took away
  18. Another opposite field double for Riz. Good stuff
  19. It's so great how much value Javy has brought. After last year and how frustrating it was to see him struggle, so far he's reinvented himself as a slick fielding doubles machine.
  20. He's not making it easy on himself that's for sure
  21. It's like every single player is making their case for making the playoff roster. I love it.
  22. I would have rather had our last 6 games at Wrigley with an excited crowd and great atmosphere than these dead ass ballparks. We're going to go from this to a playoff atmosphere. I guess this weekend should have a healthy contingent of Cubs fans to liven up the stadium.
  23. Nothing excites your fans about a new video board more than choosing Conor Gillaspie (who doesnt even play for the Sox anymore) to appear on your rendering which uses a photo of a 1/3rd filled ballpark.
  24. I'm not sure how much of an effect it had but either way it was stupid and made our fans look bad.
  25. It looks very unlikely we will be able to catch the Pirates and play the WC game at Wrigley...their final series is against the Reds. Can't see them losing 2 out of 3 to that team. I like the idea someone mentioned of how Cubs fans being able to watch the Cubs win that game on the screens at Wrigley might exorcise a bit of the terror they displayed constantly in 2007 and 2008. I think winning the Wild Card game, regardless of location or where it's being watched, will loosen the fans up. it will be like winning a playoff round, regardless of the fact that it's one game.
