Rough. I wasn't necessarily certain of victory tonight but I really didn't expect to be completely shut down offensively. Rough loss but the best thing about baseball is today is another day. This team is different than 07-08 and will not roll over. I am calling W tomorrow -

How so? The only thing I can see is Maddon allowing Coghlan to hit. Even though the pitcher has reverse splits, I don't think I have ever seen Coghlan have a good AB against a lefty. You could argue more of Mathenys moves have worked out but I don't know if that's more than dumb luck

Can someone find something to prove that Garcia isn't the best pitcher on the cardinals, and a lefty we won't struggle against? I'm going back and forth between pessimism and ... Well not quite optimism but something more neutral

isn't it a night game? also the main thing is we won't be facing john lackey, the only one of their pitchers we can't dong into oblivion 4:37 right? Sun will be up for 2 hours of the game? I think the weather is supposed to be warmer tomorrow as well

Well that makes this slightly less annoying. 1-0 is somehow worse than 2-0

For as bad as we've been offensively, they've had just 1 more base runner than we have (4 vs 3). Of course their cluster luck allows them to get a run

Hell no I want them up. It can take one good AB to break out of a slump. They are our best hitters for a reason

Rizzo just doesn't look like the same player lately. Always getting behind in counts, not getting good contact at all, striking out on garbage pitches that he normally lays off.
