  1. Wow apparently the Jays traded for Liriano
  2. Masterful deadline for Cashman for 2 rentals (a reliever and a DH), one they will probably re-sign this offseason, an elite late inning reliever and mediocre 4th starter. The Yankees don't really lose a whole lot while they built a fantastic farm system and position themselves to be the evil empire again during the monster 2017-2018 FA class. Very impressed.
  3. I don't understand all the lamenting about not getting Moore, maybe someone can describe why he's so good? Since coming back from TJS, he's been less valuable than Jason Hammel has been over that span. I get the whole young controllable pitching thing, but if the pitcher that is under your control is mediocre then who cares? Would rather take another stab at a better YCP in the offseason and ride with the 5 pretty good to great guys we have now.
  4. The Cubs are getting jiggy wi- oh wait wrong Smith.
  5. They tried to trade for Robbie Alomar but were rebuffed
  6. [tweet] [/tweet] So don't expect any surprises
  7. Giants getting Moore doesn't bother me
  8. Annnnnnnd STOP. Pencils down.
  9. In good news, the other NL Central sellers made trades and got underwhelming returns.
  10. What in the HELL are you smoking Rogers? [tweet] [/tweet]
  11. The Cubs could use another big
  12. he struck out 3 times boarding the plane Brewers got their left handed Rob Deer 2.0 edit: or not
  13. From 2011-2014 he was a pretty effective reliever. Maybe the Cubs think Bosio can work his magic and get him there again. My guess is the Cubs didn't give up a lot but then again there were supposedly 3 other teams talking to LA for him.
  14. To ummm....ummm...well...I dont know
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] Joey Gallo expected to come back to Milwaukee.
  16. I would have preferred to have been rumored to be doing something big and having it fall through then to just go quietly and not hear any rumors. Like the 20 minutes after the Lucroy deal fell through and realizing that the Cubs were one of the 3 other teams talking with Milwaukee was kind of exciting until it was clear the Cubs weren't all that serious (that we know of). I am fine with the end result (Chapman and Montgomery) overall though, just wanted some excitement on trade deadline day.
  17. Reading the comments on the thread announcing the closure, and all the people saying 'what site am going to waste my time at now' makes me wonder what the hell I'd do with my life if NSB closes. This has been my go to spot for 13 years geez.
  18. They haven't really gotten that much better. I am not worried about what they have gotten so far. The only 2 moves that I can think of where I thought 'man i wish that move didn't happen' were the Hill/Reddick to LA trade and Melancon to the Nats.
  19. If he doesn't cost much meh why not. Because you can only keep 25 guys on ML roster and he wouldn't be among 25 best players
  20. Damn, not evaluating the return, that is a pretty impact move by the Dodgers
