  1. Yeah this is the ultimate high stakes playoff matchup. Beating either of those teams would be so damn gratifying but losing to either would be so damn painful. I know any playoff loss is damn painful but there is a slight but noticeable difference losing to the mets or cardinals than losing to like the Diamondbacks or something just like beating the Cardinals last year was more satisfying than beating the Braves or something
  2. Think it's Carlos Martinez
  3. Only 5 of their 8 wins against us are like that lol
  4. 1 hit in the final 7 innings for the Cubs. Blah
  5. I saw a stat on Twitter that Heywards defense has saved the Cubs 13 runs this year. And his offense has cost them 22 runs I'm still not on the bench him bandwagon but I'm actually not dismissing of starting someone like Almora in the playoffs which insane
  6. Would like to see the offense get it going again. Not sure what they were doing differently on Sunday but other than that game the offense has been in a bit of a struggle.
  7. Wanna hear an annoying stat? Moss was 1 for his last 43 before he hit that HR
  8. It's the 6th inning and the Cubs are like 3rd in baseball in runs scored
  9. I have a feeling Miggy is going to start more postseason games than Willy fairly or not. Just seems to be trending that way.
  10. 5 walks in 2 innings including walking the bases loaded in the same inning and you swing at the first pitch Jorge? Fake edit; this is a total hindsight is 20-20 post
  11. According to the Fangraphs piece on him recently, his ability to get at pitches high in the zone is what has made him that much better this year Yes that was the one I read. But he just doubled on a low pitch and popped up on a high one so that's all Heyward Fan needs to see
  12. Haha I just read an article about how Addy has crushed high heat lately and pitchers are getting him out with pitches lower in the zone
  13. Reyes is the #2 prospect in baseball, has been awesome w Cards (4 er in 24 IP and 11.4 K/9) and is clearly a potential future ace and matheny started Garcia over him why? Edit: I realize he was shaky that inning but better than mediocre ass Garcia)
  14. I saw a couple of mentions from STL beat guys saying that there are good hitting conditions at Busch today. Which sucks because we are facing an extreme ground ball pitcher (right?) and they are facing a human dumpster fire
  15. One more Cubs related note (love the CJ post above) A Dodgers Cubs NLCS would be interesting
  16. Addison's last half season (roughly...79 games): .258/.341/.491/.832 16 HR 14 2B 58 RBI .276 BABIP

  18. Damn, 6 of the 7 Cardinals that have faced the Hammel the most kill him.
  19. [tweet]https://twitter.com/rianwatt/status/775773295476150272[/tweet] Last year I was calling this phenomenon a "Kris Bryant" but I guess I should be calling it an "Addy"
  20. Panicked article of the day: http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/beware-cubs-fans-100-win-teams-almost-never-win-it-all-in-mlb/ It is kind of strange that 9 of the last 15 100 win teams lost in the LDS. Perhaps we should lose 12 more games to ensure we don't win 100. kidding of course
