  1. Didn't take me too long to discover Lindor is a little bitch
  2. Guests don't have access to the Game Thread Forum
  3. So horsefeathering stupid that Cueto gives up some HRs to Royals players and boom were in Cleveland to play a team that finished 9.5 games behind us in the standings
  4. I read this dude has one of the smallest yet most inconsistent strike zones
  5. This is probably where I draw the line on Schwarbs...
  6. FYI, I am an official World Series ticket inspector. PM me so I can send you my address so you can drop by to let me verify whether your tickets are actually legit. If they are fakes, I will save you any legal troubles by taking them from you and privately disposing of them.
  7. Strangely enough, despite the Cubs being 63-37 favorites in the series by FiveThirtyEight, for Game one the Cubs are actually 52-48 dogs.
  8. FiveThirtyEight looked at this earlier in the month and showed that the Cubs were the 26th best regular season team ever. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-year-of-the-cubs/ And of the 25 teams above them, 13 won the World Series. So if you combine best regular season team with a World Series title, the Cubs hypothetically would be the 14th best team of all time. If you only want to consider teams since the invention of divisional play in 1969, the Cubs are the 4th best team in the last 47 years, behind only the 1998 Yankees, 1975 Reds and 1970 Orioles (the Reds and Orioles are both just in front of the Cubs, the Yankees way ahead)
  9. I also think that he might be saving Contreras in case Schwarber comes up to face Miller. Given his rust and his numbers against lefties last year, it might make sense to PH for Contreras (or Soler). But of course if you PH the DH spot, you lose the DH spot for the game and need to PH there the rest of the game or hit with the pitcher. Hence having 2 quality bats off the bench in Willy and Georgie. You only lose the DH if the DH takes a defensive position, you can pinch hit for the DH as much as you want without the pitcher having to hit. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/about_mlb/rules_regulations.jsp Interesting...thanks for the correction.
  10. It boggles my mind that yesterday I was watching Schwarber on a grainy stream with a crappy camera angle hitting against Minor Leaguers in Arizona, and today I will be watching him in the World Series in Cleveland.
  11. Also, do we tar and feather Agony now or do we just join him in peeing on his sources front door?

  13. I actually had a feeling this might be the move, but I thought it was too radical to suggest. The reasoning being Coghlan is a lefty and he actually has an XBH off of Kluber (obviously extremely small sample size of 3 ABs)
  14. I'd be stunned if Heyward isn't playing RF tonight. Given that the Cubs are 4-41 lifetime against Kluber, Maddon is likely to put his best LH hitters in there with correlated splits. Bauer and Tomlin are inverse splits LH/RH so expect Contreras in LF when Montero catches Jake. In fact, I see it this way with what the Indians are doing: Game 1: C, Ross - LF, Zobrist - RF, Heyward Game 2: C, Montero - LF, Contreras - RF, Zobrist Game 3: C, Contreras - LF, Zobrist - RF, Heyward Soler cannot hit when it is under 50 degrees. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxoMbEZbXZc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyWmL0ENdxI Not sure if you are trying to debunk the claim that Soler can't hit when its under 50 degrees, but Game time temp for Game 2 in St. Louis was 70 degrees and for Game 3 against the Mets it was 72.
  15. I mean, I know the Red Sox and Blue Jays are not the Cubs, but the Indians are undefeated in the playoffs when Kluber does not start.
  16. God I hope people don't actually try to start a serious rebuttal on my "Lackey fake injury, LaStella pitching in the world series fake injury to become position player" idea.
  17. TLS will surely be available in the series after game 4 when Lackey fakes an injury to be taken off the roster. a pitcher may be replaced only by a pitcher Well then he will have to pitch to a batter in order to make it legit. Then you can say something like 'well he hurt his arm pitching to that batter but it turns out he's actually like passable as a position player - for a pitcher'. Which everyone will believe after watching him attempt to be a position player.
  18. http://mlb.mlb.com/images/1/1/6/154439116/101315_nlds_schwarber_homerun_statcast_medres_bq4qks7r.gif that made me cackle when I read it this morning.
