  1. Someone let Javy know he just needs a single
  2. I'm never going to sleep again am I? NOT COMPLAINING THOUGH
  3. A 4 run inning here would absolutely jump ahead of the birth of my kids as the greatest moment of my life And I'm only half kidding
  4. I got excited about a rally but how excited can I be with a struggling Zobrist, Russell and Heyward coming up? Please tell me because I want to be excited
  5. So I'm kind of lost here. Why do we all hate Law so passionately?
  6. I'm actually stunned at Fox for continuing to say the Cubs were 6 outs away. You'd think they'd jump at the chance to repeat early and often that the Cubs were 5 outs away when Chapman blew the game if they realized it
  7. I mean not to be to fatalistic/negative but the entire 2015-2016 offseason/2016 deadline has come up short in this series except Montgomery. Lackey, Zobrist, Heyward, Chapman. If you want to include fowler as a resigning. Cahill and Smith not on the roster Edit: yes I know this was a bad post
  8. JFC I just asked a question and also expressed no lack of confidence in our ability to win the game I mean seriously people are freaking out left and right and I'm told to settle down because i am asking if it's possible we see Bumgarner in a hypothetical close game 5 The settle down was directed at everyone. The rest is: Who cares if he pitches? That's fine if you want to use a reply to my post to tell the board to settle down, and I am fine with ripping posts that are dumb and/or overly negative including mine, but I mean it's a question I was wondering because he's done it before (albeit in the World Series which is a big difference) Sometimes people ask questions because they want the people that are baseball smarter (like you) to give a reasonable answer so that we can all be smarter.
  9. Umm, he sucked last night and would be on short rest. And also Jon Lester is pitching for us. Settle down. JFC I just asked a question and also expressed no lack of confidence in our ability to win the game I mean seriously people are freaking out left and right and I'm told to settle down because i am asking if it's possible we see Bumgarner in a hypothetical close game 5
  10. A bit of an overreaction. We can live with his bat in the lineup if our lineup is hitting reasonably well. But Addison has hit like a pitcher for a month, Zobrist has been mediocre since like June, Rizzo is struggling since the playoffs started, fowler as well. Suddenly his bad bat looks glaring
  11. Bumgarner on 2 days rest? In a situation where we've chased cueto and they feel like they have to resort to that option (and ruin their NLCS rotation)? Um, yes please. It would be his side day so I think he could throw an inning or two and be good for game 2
  12. Seeing Theo's expression certainly does not make me feel *better* about what's transpiring
  13. I'm not conceding this game but if there is a game 5, what do you think the chances are Bumgarner comes in to relieve Cueto? We need to jump on him early if there is a possibility of him coming in to shut us down
  14. Yes Heyward should definitely get this AB against a lefty down 3 with 8 outs to go
  15. Not really worried about it. I've gotten more than my fair share of Cardinals misery porn over the last year. At the end of the day they still live in St Louis.
  16. Can we just start subbing offensive players? Soler, contreras, even coghlan should come in(coghlan preferably when Moore is out)
  17. They are gettIng lucky I agree but they are also getting a LOT of hard contact
  18. Because he's given up 3 hits and barely any hard contact? 2
  19. you know it is bad when your point of reference for rallying is a game you still lost They did, but the Cubs of years past would have folded like an accordion in the 9th. This team has fight in it. I think they will rally tonight. Just give me something. This team has 5 hits over their last 15 innings going back to last night
  20. Err it's the 5-6-7 part of the order and even if he stays in the game if he gets into any trouble he will be pulled
  21. Come on. Playing the Brewers and Reds doesn't explain the 16 game gap between the Giants and Cubs It's the postseason this horsefeathers happens. It sucks and it's unlucky but it's not because the Cubs were overrated. By all accounts they were one of the top 30 or so teams of all time this year. And the series isn't even over they can win Thursday (or tonight) and none of this horsefeathers matters
  22. Team just seems like they are pressing, making defensive and base running mistakes they don't normally make, swinging at pitches they don't normally swing at, throwing pitches they don't normally throw. Maddon has to reinforce the "embrace the target" mantra before game 5 if there is one
