  1. You know what horsefeathers defense. If we continue to struggle at the plate I am at least considering benching Javy tomorrow. I can't believe I'm saying that and it's probably still stupid, but he's an automatic out right now at a time where we absolutely cannot have automatic outs
  2. I....I feel so dead...I feel like the air is rushing out
  3. Big game lackey now has 7 ER in 10 postseason innings. Should have just gotten a haircut and skipped town
  4. Is it bad that I'm thinking ticket prices for tomorrow might plummet?
  5. My new hope for this series: hit a single HR. Just one. Please
  6. I love how more people are attending these Indians watch parties than pretty much every Indians home game this year.
  7. Ahh yes hitting hard right to fielders again. Feel like the chips are stacked against us right now.
  8. Hopefully pen is ready. Lackey isn't going more than 4, possibly not more than 3
  9. Hopefully we have Kris Bryant the next time we make the World Series
  10. I wondered the same thing. If there's such thing as karma....
  11. I don't understand. Over the last week I swear I've heard the Cubs struggle against fastballs curveballs and breaking pitches. How exactly did we score so many rubs again? Walking and lucky hits
  12. I was just thinking. This is the first time that one of our 4 starters is all but guaranteed to be making their last start of the season. The finality of this is starting to sink in.
  13. I had to double check to make sure I didn't make this post. Everything you just said is completely what I have been going through but I haven't been able to articulate it in the right way. This is the freaking year of the Cubs. Everything this year has been about the Cubs winning the title. During the season I noticed it but given how the playoffs are a crapshoot I didn't allow myself to lose perspective of our actual odds of winning it. Now we're here and 3 wins away. We can't rely on beating the crapshoot again next year or the year after. We have to do it now and then everything else is gravy. Come on guys lets do this.
  14. Dammit. Was really hoping that wasn't the case
  15. Hopefully this game puts to bed the assumption that because the wind is blowing out there is going to be a ton of runs scored. Good pitchers making their pitchers can still keep the score low. Yes the margin for error is much smaller but there have been like 3-4 games this year with heavy winds blowing out that were very low scoring. Hendricks pitched in one of those games back in May
  16. It sure seemed like Bryant got the tag on Martinez as his hand hit Kris' shoe, but before it got to the bag. But again, nothing incontrovertible. no, he had at least 2 fingers on the bag. I thought that one was pretty clear I didn't think it was clear but I thought it was more likely than not that he was safe
  17. I appreciate that thought but Cleveland had 11 baserunners in the game. Maybe ding them for being unable to plate more runs but I think they overall hit well and chased a really good pitcher who I thought has a good game plan against them out before 5 innings. The Dodgers in game 2 did look rather bad at the plate overall.
  18. Oh for FFS. Stop with the self-absorbed whining. We all think this game blew, of course. But the series is only over after one of two teams wins four times. There's a lot of baseball left. I'm so sick and tired of the woe is me schtick. Don't like it, go be a White Sox fan. David is one of the more optimistic and rational posters on the board. He should be able to get away with a negative thought or two.
  19. Yeah I was with you. I expected like 4 IP 2 ER or something not to get shut out
  20. Ok one more pessimistic post and I promise I'll be better Cubs fall to 2-12 lifetime in World Series games at Wrigley Field Cubs have gone 9 straight World Series games without a home run
