  1. Let Willis drive down the field and he’s only had to throw one pass. Masterclass by MLF and the run game this drive. 2 possessions in a half is wild
  2. It’s one thing to be republican, it’s another to be very visible in your support for the fascist in chief, including having a member of the ownership group in Trumps administration, funding one of the largest Super PACs in support of Trump and having another owner who was a governor and now US Senator of another state and has widely supported banning abortion and other Trump policies. They look even worse because initially they were very anti-Trump and backed other republicans in 2016 but when Trump called them out publicly, they quickly bent to his will. And then there’s all the horsefeathers about the father being outed as a racist POS. I personally still pay for Marquee and go to a couple games a year but I can understand why someone wouldn’t spend any money to support the team.
  3. I think the Bears will find a way to clinch before Week 18 somehow, but interesting looking at the schedule to see which games are in contention to get flexed. I think if it's really Bears/Lions for a playoff spot they will absolutely select that game considering the teams and the large market involved. Not sure if they would do it if the Bears clinched and it was the Lions needing a win to make the playoffs (also its fairly unlikely as it would take a Packers collapse, they can't pass 49ers at this point) Other possibilities: Steelers vs Ravens - Potentially for not only a playoff spot but the division and a home playoff game Colts vs Texas - A wild card 'winner clinches a playoff spot, loser is out' for the AFC Seahawks vs 49ers - Both should have playoff spots clinched but Seattle might need it to clinch division and 1 seed and small chance SF could win to clinch division Panthers vs Buccaneers - Also for a playoff spot, division and home playoff game Basically, lots of really interesting looking games for Week 18, though a lot can obviously chance these next 2 weeks.
  4. I kinda think this is very possible. If Indiana is going to offer a property tax free location and commits to pay for infrastructure improvements it has to be seriously considered. The Bears would probably much rather build in Arlington Heights even if it requires them to pay property tax, but if Illinois doesn't budge on this threat I think they will very strongly consider it.
  5. He was coming off a career season too. There was definitely a lot of reason to think he wouldn’t live up to the contract particularly the back half and that’s exactly what happened. I was happy when we signed him because I thought it meant the Cubs were going to finally throw their financial muscle around but in reality they were trying to up the Cubs value to sell. I was happy that he was a very good bat but he didn’t necessarily feel like the missing piece. Ironically a couple of years later I thought Milton Bradley was the missing piece 😂 At the end of the day Soriano was critical to those 07 and 08 playoff teams and had many fun moments for us so I’m happy we signed him.
  6. What I want to understand is why is Love so elite and effective at throwing deep 50/50 type of balls and how do you stop it? Sometimes he hits them in stride and maybe that's good play design but a lot of the time when he throws deep its 1-on-1 coverage and the receiver has to make a play to get the catch, its not just dropped in his arms. How does he hit such a high percentage of those throws?
  7. Not only that but I believe it's the 4th time a Bears player has reaggrivated an existing injury in pregame or during a game. Kyler twice, Jaylon and now Rome. There was absolutely no need to rush Rome back on a historically cold day to face the Browns. There needs to be some accountability here. Ben has had a fantastic year and am excited about the future with him, and he's not a trainer, but ultimately he likely plays a big part in deciding how to handle an injured players return. He's gotta be better about this in the future and his staff has to be better also.
  8. It's so wild to be 10-4 and still slightly worse than a 1-in-4 chance of missing the playoffs. Every other 10-4 or better team has at least a 91% chance of making it.
  9. So here are some scenarios mapped out simply for clinching the playoffs regardless of seed and DIV/WC. Also this is only 1 team ties, not sure how it works out with multiple teams tied for 1 or more spots, but its pretty unlikely that the Rams, Seahawks, Bucs or Panthers find themselves in a tie with the Bears for a WC spot (where one team is in and the other is out) for a few reasons, mainly that the Seahawks and Rams still play and the Seahawks also still play the 49ers. Bears go 2-1 or 3-0: Make playoffs because DET already has 6 losses Bears go 1-2: -Bears beat GB but lose to SF and DET: One of GB or DET must lose one of their other 2 games. -Bears beat SF but lose to GB and DET: SF or DET must lose one of their other 2 games OR Packers lose both of their other 2 games -Bears beat DET but lose to GB and SF: Bears clinch a playoff spot (11-6 vs 10-7 at best) Bears go 0-3: Only scenario I can find where the Bears get in is the Lions losing their other 2 games, in which case the Bears will have already clinched prior to the Lions game. The Bucs and Panthers both have 7 losses, but they still play each other twice so one team is taking the division and the other is getting at least their 8th loss, unless they tie twice.
  10. We allow this dude but we can't bring Da Bum back?
  11. The Bears can clinch a playoff spot with a win next week and a Lions loss to Pittsburgh. And also move their magic number for the NFC North to 1 with a win (1.5 up with 2 to play)
  12. Packers, Lions and Seahawks all currently losing. Parsons might have just torn an ACL (which sucks but relevant)
  13. Ugh was really hoping at least 1 of the Packers or Lions would lose with both on the road against the number 1 seed in each conference but so far it’s not going the Bears way plus the 49ers winning.
  14. There’s you and me in a nutshell, I frame something from a “if everything goes wrong” perspective and you frame it from a “if everything goes right” 😂
  15. If the Bears beat the 49ers, the 49ers need to win out and Bears lose out to make the playoffs over us. If the Bears beat the Lions, the Lions would need to win out and the Bears lose out to pass the Bears.
  16. Pretty sure if the Rams beat the Lions this week (assuming this holds) there’s like a 98% chance that the Bears will be AT WORST in a “win and in” game against the Lions in week 17 no matter what else happens. Id have to work out scenarios where the Panthers/Bucs loser somehow gets into a 3+ team tiebreaker for the 7 seed, or if the Rams/Seahawks fall back down. But it’s overwhelmingly likely that it’s really 4 teams fighting for 3 playoff spots (WC 2+3 and the NFCN)
  17. The man completely torched his life in a matter of 48 hours. He fired the girl he was sleeping with after he stalked her when she broke up with him, causing her to report their relationship to the university, causing him to be fired with cause and losing ~$15m, causing him to crash out and break into her house and threaten her and himself with knives. 48 hours prior he was the head coach at Michigan, due millions of dollars, at least 1 more year of job security. By the end he was out of job as the HC of a blue blood program he was somewhat underqualfied for, blew up his family and is now an alleged felon. What a crash out.
  18. Since I was in my early 20s, we made it a point to tailgate all day from like 9am on. By 2pm the keg we brought completely froze over. Never had that happen before or since.
  19. I read somewhere the putting cardboard under your feet would help too so your shoes aren't on cold concrete for 3 hours. But I just read that Soldier Field recent banned bringing in cardboard (specifically listed in reference to cold weather) which seems silly.
  20. yep, I went to that Bears Falcons game in 2005, it was like 3 degrees. Wore 3 pairs of socks along with a ridiculous amount of clothing to stay warm. Entire body was fine except feet, was a miserable experience. Luckily I had seats in the United Club so I could go inside and warm up frequently and still mostly see the game.
  21. I haven’t been visiting the board a ton lately. I’m not sure if this means I should visit more or less.
  22. This is one scandal too far for me. Clean it up and get your horsefeathers together Michigan. Also this absolutely without a doubt proves that there is an inverse relationship between Michigan football and Michigan basketball success.
  23. Hey once all those rooftops are completed the Ricketts might finally have enough to not break even
  24. I think you're underselling things a bit, but I realize based on your previous posts that it comes from a place of "the Bears are not really that good" If the Bears lose, at worst they are tied for a playoff spot (though currently losing the tiebreaker), 1 GB SF with a chance to win that tiebreaker with a H2H win, and have a chance to claw back to 0.5 games of the North with a win the next week (though I'd agree the odds become very slim with a loss this week). The fact that we play all 3 teams we are are competing for a playoff spot with in the final 4 games with 3 of our last 4 at home while only SF has what I'd consider an easyish schedule gives us some wiggle room especially when playing an AFC opponent this week. But again, if you don't think the Bears are that good and losing would put them in a position to have to win 2 of 3 against teams you believe are significantly better than the Bears, I can see where what you said makes sense.
  25. Damn I thought you were just kidding around but after I saw this I do think they are trying to shame him
