  1. Can’t remember ever seeing a QB who is significantly worse in a clean pocket. Seems like he sails a lot of throws when not under pressure. No idea why
  2. FWIW since I was starting the rumor train, Lamar apparently did practice today. Not sure if limited or full. I would think given their current position and a very winnable division they will do everything possible to get him on the field as soon as safely possible.
  3. Reports are suggesting that Lamar's status on Sunday is definitely in question. The Bears have actually never faced Lamar Jackson. The last time the teams played Tyler Huntley started and beat the Bears.
  4. this is wild:
  5. horsefeathers that sucks so bad for the Mariners. The thing that’s so tough about baseball playoff heartbreak is that regardless of what the Dodgers are doing right now the playoffs are a weighted crapshoot. To even get back to where they were today they had to have a lot of big hits, a lot of small things to go their way. There is no guarantee that they even make the playoffs next year much less survive the gauntlet and have another shot at finally making the World Series. I don’t mind the Jays winning it, it was an excellent series, but my heart was with the Mariners there.
  6. Lamar was expected to be back at practice following the bye. He did not practice today. Still very early in the week but interesting development
  7. On one hand yeah you can't ignore the first 2 weeks but it is at least somewhat interesting to see how teams have played the last 4 games, especially in the case of the Bears and Patriots who have young QBs and new coaching staffs.
  8. Enjoy the cards @CaliforniaRaisin. I won them last year (1988 Topps) and my kids and I had a blast opening up the packs and me telling them about all the guys from the 80s that I grew up watching. Edit: DONT eat the gum 😂 Congrats to all the winners!
  9. Honestly, I'll be happy if we have a close competitive game with them. Not saying the Bears can't win, but there are so many reasons Baltimore should win this game (assuming Lamar plays). It's much more about the Ravens being the Ravens than it is about being down on the Bears.
  10. Remember when we used to track touchdown less halves under Nagy/Pace? So far the Bears have scored a TD in 10 of 12 halves this year. The 2 they didnt score a TD they scored 9 (1st half vs. LV) and 6 points (2nd half vs. NO). Even when they don't score a TD they are avoiding complete offensive duds.
  11. Like I said, completely fair line, was just commenting on how unusual it is to see a 4-2 team a TD underdog to a 1-5 team.
  12. Bears open as 6.5 point dogs to the Ravens next week. Completely fair line but can’t remember ever seeing a 4-2 team almost a TD underdog to a 1-5 team.
  13. Lots of caveats but damn I was hoping for a little more improvement YOY
  14. What is your take on the high volume of takeaways? Good coaching, luck that will regress, a little of both?
  15. One thing that’s awesome is that Ben Johnson’s coaching is shining through despite up and down QB play. A lesser coaching staff would likely really be struggling offensively. That should buy time for Caleb to figure it out if he has the capacity to.
  16. Progress isn't linear especially with a new coach and offense. He's at times looked very comfortable and confident running the offense but today seemed like a big step back. Hopefully next week is a step forward.
  17. On the flip side you could argue that Caleb had up to 5 TWP today, only one of them being an actual turnover. 2 of them hit Chase Young in the hands, one hit the DB in the helmet and I'm blanking on the last one. I really don't think it was a good game for him at all to be honest.
  18. It reminded me of the Vikings game. Lots of holding onto the ball leading to scrambling and mid to deep bullets down the field into contested coverage. Crazy because in the Cowboys and to a lesser extent Raiders games he looked a lot more comfortable in the pocket and playing within the rhythm of the offense but seems to have regressed.
  19. If the Cardinals beat the Packers (doubtful) and Bucs beat the Lions (possible) tomorrow, the Bears will be alone in 1st!
  20. Well we’ve started our stretch of 7 out of 10 road games 3-0. It gets a lot harder from here but still 5 of our next 7 away from Soldier Field
  21. Wait, looking over his shoulder for what? I’m disappointed with his play but he’s no where close to even beginning to think about possibly having a discussion about benching him
  22. Winning with running and defense/takeaways while being concerned about the QB. We know no other way of being good in those rare times we are.
  23. Caleb does especially well against the blitz and in 2 minute drills. Is it because he doesn’t have to think about timing and progressions and just plays on instinct?
  24. Just when I thought we’d reached a level of comfort with Caleb he looks like rookie Caleb again
  25. The Bears are in the middle of a 49 day stretch with just one home game, today's. Pretty wild how they always condense a big chunk of the Bears home games at the end of the season it seems like. This year 3/8ths of our home games will be played in the final 4 games of the season.
