  1. Man I can’t believe I went to a March baseball game at Wrigley that had such amazing weather. Felt like a mid-June game
  2. Imagine the parallels to 1989 that will be talked about if Michigan and Illinois face off. -Michigan undefeated against Illinois in the regular season -Facing off late in the tourney -Illinois is looking for their first title.
  3. There’s a real possibility of an Illinois-Michigan final and that’s scary.
  4. USMNT looking great /s
  5. I'm kind of sick of that particular quirk of Wrigley to be honest. Can we just play normal baseball?
  6. I think other teams will value him higher than we do. I don't think he's a utility type bat, others will see his age and top 30 prospect pedigree and see him as a potential cornerstone piece, whereas we're already locked in at 3B, SS and 2B and his OF work remains to be seen.
  7. Meh. I like both players but Seiya will be 32 after this year, gets injured a lot, has issues defensively. I think we can at least shop for a better long term bat and take our chances with him hitting FA. If he's willing to accept a 2-3 year extension I'd definitely consider it. Happ will also be 32 (I was today year's old when I realized their birthdays are 6 days apart!) and solid all around but not as good of a hitter as Seiya. If his bat declines much it might be rough over the next couple of years. Again, I wouldn't be against either of them being back next year (or whenever they play baseball again after this season),but I don't think extending either is a no brainer either.
  8. I'm happier about this extension than I am PCA's, mostly because of all the news about shopping him the last 2 offseasons, I was worried they didn't value him as much as I did. This is awesome.
  9. 1 game in and the Brewers currently have a 19 run better RD than the Cubs 🤣
  10. Well at least one team knows how to hit HRs in these conditions.
  11. Nico probably thinks if you dont use them they carry over into the next game or something.
  12. wow. Boyd is awful right now. And in the WBC. And at the end of last season. Blah
  13. Yeah thats what I read but it was up there the entire 1st inning. Maybe an error on their part?
  14. I knew someone would say that lol. So did I but I got used to it. Difficult to adjust back for me.
  15. seriously this doesn't bother anyone else that there's no strike zone graphic on pitches? I heard they were potentially removing it due to ABS but when it saw it on the screen in the 1st inning I figured they decided to keep it, now its gone.
  16. Did they remove the strike zone from the broadcast? There was a very light one around home plate in the first inning but now there's nothing there.
  17. Honestly did not think a ball hit with that much arc could get out on a day like today.
  18. Boyd giving up some bombs early. that one got over the fence
  19. Looks like Boyd isn't suffering from the same WBC curse that Skenes is.
  20. I haven't been paying too much attention to Spring Training. Is Amaya no longer the de facto starting catcher or is Kelly starting today due to matchups? Kelly had a really solid season last year but Amaya has better long term potential and was promising before all the injuries last year.
  21. The international games have started earlier but in terms of traditional US/Canada Opening Day, I believe this is the earliest ever.
